I saw a project in Somerset a few issues ago where someone had decoupaged what looked like little Altoids boxes. Just glued on different colored strips of thin (tissue and other) papers, and then glued shrunk-plastic stamped images on top. They were really pretty! I've been making collages on CD disks (gotta do something with all those lame demos we get at work) and I imagine it would be similar with Altoids box--i use a little sandpaper to rough up the surface first, then use Mod podge glue. After I have everything where I want it, glued down, I brush a layer of Mod podge over the whole surface to coat it. It dries just a tiny bit shiny and feels "finished". Hope this helps! They provide an instant melange of colours for sponging. I use a variety of colours in skies and grasses, and get better results when using a rainbow than applying layers of single colours. Apart from that, I use mine most often with text stamps for the insides of cards. Actually, I think I'll try them with my marbling cube - bet they'd make smashing backgrounds. Pity most of them are unsuitable for the truly-huge background stamps, as the cases are too high profile, and the colours would get too muddied if you're not careful. /\ (o) .\/\ /\ . . . in the darkness, light . . . . \.\/\ / .\ /\.\/. \ /. .\ /\ Kate Whitridge /. \/. .\/ . \/. \ The RubberSnark ./ . . \ . / ..\/\ whitridg@achilles.net This message was from Kate Whitridge - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. I started off OK by sending a card to my adopted daughter, Elisabet Bjornsdottir, in Iceland. But the second and third week I didn't send anything. So the fourth week I really got in gear and sent out cards to Val Kildaw, Glenyce Mork-HUghes, Carol Mork, and Janet Lacy - all in Canada. Pat Koss This message was from "Patricia A. She used one of the Judi-Kins round asian stamps, embossed in gold and then pink flowers and green leaves. This was mounted on a confetti mulberry paper over a very pale pink cs. This is really a gorgeous card, one I have to copy!! Sho, you always create beautiful cards, this one is no exception. Thank you so much.
