Melina sent a beautiful card- red cardstock w/ white cardstock on the front & two rose heart stamps & the stamped message "plant a seed of love & watch a garden grow" It's embossed in red w/ gold (?) & looks great! She also used decorative scissors to cut out the white paper ( and cuts straight- something I'll never master! ;) ) Deborrah's card was a gold embossed heart with a floral design on red cardstock layered over more red cardstock. And it's embellished with this iridescent cellophane "angel hair"- I don't know how to describe it but it's great! & tiny little red & gold hearts! Gorgeous! Jeanne's card is layerered & hard to describe - I hope i do it justice- a sponged background ( red on white) with rectangles of red & heart patterned paper on top - and topped off with an embossed heart on a doily. And a ribbon & the corners are embellished with metllic hearts! wow! Amber made a pooh card! The stamp is pooh & piglet sailing thru the skies with a balloon! Amber also has heart balloons embellished in the background & on the inside is a msg-" every person is a new door to a different world" Great! Last but not least - SARAMOM's package came! I won't go into detail but it has all sorts of neat stuff! Thanks Saramom! I love it!!!!!!!! Okay mostly I do brayer with these but there are also different way of using those....like brayering sticky paper and then stamping vases or other open stamps on the paper. Now you have a different look to a plain vase. Also I use them for text stamps that ad flavor to the message. I have a stamp of a package that I use and then place my regular postage stamp on the "front" of the package. I use them with the bubble wrap to create colorful backgrounds. I really like using the ones I have and keep trying different ideas but not all of them work out. Usually I test an idea on plain paper first to avoid destruction of a piece of cardstock. So experiment! The results can be wonderful. Dorothy & Toto2 This message was from Dorothy Ferris - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. Prescription bottles are great for all kinds of things. I had a very large one - big enough to hold two golf balls. For a stamper, you could put confetti, EP, wild fiber, Perfect FX or little dies in them. You could also put M&M's in them to relieve any number of ailments :) Deb http://people.delphi.com/batmom/ This message was from Debby Gribbin - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. Who gave me advice on my brother. The majority (okay -all) the advice was to kick him out. I know that's what I should do, but when he moved in with us in October, he was close to suicide. He really mean it, too i think. He was homeless, had one suitcase of clothes to his name. I just don't think I could live with the guilt if I kicked him out to be like he was and something bad happened. He is my only close family. Mom and Dad are gone, so I have really no one else. He doesn't smoke in the house and I no longer leave the kids alone with him. I just want him to learn that he can get though life on the same plane as the rest of the world. Good luck tho, I think. We had to have our beloved "first born" english setter Bailey put to sleep a year and half ago and a friend gave me this card. It still makes me cry, but every time I read it I can remember her so clearly. The card was from Hallmark and was written by Linda Barnes: They will not go quietly, the dogs who've shared our lives. In subtle ways they let us know their spirit still survives. Old habits still make us think we hear a barking at the door. Or step back when we drop a tasty morsel on the floor. Our feet still go around the place the food dish used to be, And, sometimes, coming home at night, we miss them terribly. And although time may bring new friends and a new food dish to fill, That one place in our hearts belongs to them... and always will. Sometimes it helps just to know someone cares...and I do. We had Bailey cremated and keep this card with her remains. I hope it helps StampaDeeDoDah (Dee) This message was from Scoupe95@aol.com - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum.
