Hi Barb, It's Joanne (that was a FUN time at Stampers Warehouse!) I'm going to piggy back on this message. I'm still having trouble with JUNO e-mail. I asked for help about this once before and was told messages do keep accumulating but somehow NOT FOR ME! HELP! My problem again: I did not have time to do e-mail this week but I did take the time to EACH DAY download my mail. So I do have LOTS of messages to get caught up on. I'm presently on Feb. 12th. and have lots of Feb. 13. However, I did not take the time to download Feb. 14 and 15. I logged on this morning and have only my messages thru Feb. 13. I sent the LIST a message and it is not here. So now I've had to resubscribe. It appears that when I don't download daily I also get bumped off the list. Any ideas anyone? All were embossed and nicely colored. I need to get this frame - very versatile. Thanks for the idea! from Michele McNamara - received and described earlier in the week. I tried a new technique the other day that I'm sure many of you have tried already. But, thought I would share it in case some of you out there haven't yet. Simple and beautiful. Another way to use our beloved vellum paper. Dry emboss with a stencil and stylus. When you are done, the look is so pretty, the vellum has a white line wherever you have embossed. I did some and then colored in the back of parts of the design for accents and it was gorgeous!! Pam has been out of town for several weeks while her husband was in the hospital. HE'S GOING TO BE OKAY!!!! He's going to be under observation for a little while longer--to make sure it doesn't come back, though. She has the paper and orders and will be taking it with her so she can send out the orders. She will also be calling those that she has the phone numbers for. Please have just a bit more patience! and if you're into praying and good thoughts, her family could still use them. - -- :-D awn Golden Sunrise Enterprises sunrise@wolfenet.com http://members.tripod.com/~Sunrise/ This message was from Dawn - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. I keep a file of people that I sent cards to, with their name and addy, and the date and a simple description of the stamps used and design. That way, I don't keep sending my Mom the same card over and over! I have a page that documents the swap cards that were sent (again, date and simple description) and I guess you could do the same for a RAK. It's an easy way to have a log of what you sent to whom. I also usually try to keep a sample of the things that I have done, or at least a color copy in my "keepers" box... of things that people have sent me that are just too fab!!!Just my way of keeping myself from that danged forgetfulness! They're closing out on stamping supplies. BOOHOO!! BUT, that means that they're all on sale!! YIPPEE! So I meander over to the clearance aisle and VOILA there's all the stamps, pads, ep's, cards, etc. Whoosh they go into the basket. So I was able to get some things. It's a bummer though. How did you manage to associate Kansas with the clues you've been given? I've never heard of Burlington, Kansas - is that the new vendor on the list? It's warm and cozy in Florida. Had a bit of rain lately but it sure beats the cold and snow. How many swaps are you in, Becci? Have you checked ALL the participants? I just use the Modge Podge or whatever it's called, and follow the directions on the bottle. But then I thought, why couldn't I use my rubber stamps? I didn't really know what kind of inks to use directly on the switchplates, and didn't really care for the color of them anyway, so what I did was take a piece of mulberry paper, embossed gold stars, suns, etc all over it, then decoupaged it to the switch plate. I just sprayed a clear sealer over the whole works when it was done, and it looks really nice. But I'd be really interested in knowing how others have been able to incorporate dye inks and coloring images into this - if anyone has done it. The crumpled up tissue paper works really nice, too, since if it rips, you just glue some more over it since it's so thin anyway. But the ones I saw advertised in the store were basically bits of seed packets and other things related to gardening, and they were so expensive! There are some people that I've heard of that buy the contractor's boxes of switchplates, which puts them under $1 apiece, and then turn around and sell them at craft fairs for $5-$6 each. Hope this helps! Lynette Bob and Robyn wrote: > > Lynette, > > Can you share how you did your switchplates? What type of plates > did you use, what type of ink, and how did you finish them?
