WOW what perfect timing you have!! My package arrived on Valentine's Day. I loved all the Valentine's Day goodies. Let's see there was: the pretty tin filled with chocolate, YUM!! A really beautiful heart stamp by PSX. I have been looking at this at my local store for some time and I love it :) I love the mullberry paper, and I didn't have red so this will be well used. I just bought a pack of these Beedz a few weeks ago and haven't played with them yet, so now I have more to get started with. The confetti and the red puffy paint will be put to use quickly, I can never get enough of that stuff! What else was there.....oh the red pigment pad and the stickers, well I am sorry to say that my daughter decided that one of the packs of stickers must be for her :) She is a sticker nut so I shared!!! I also love the house mouse card with the 3-D laquer? on it. I love house mouse stamps they are so cute. Thanks so much for all of the goodies that you sent, I love them and will use them all. I am still curious about the bear pin that you sent last month, how did you make him. I really thought that he was cute. Here's one of them: Finger Paints #4 1/2 c. cornstarch 1 c. cold water 1 envelope unflavored gelatin 2 c. boiling water small screw-top jars food coloring or poster paints In a saucepan, mix cornstarch with 3/4 c. cold water to a smooth paste. Soak gelatin in 1/4 c. cold water. Set aside until ready to use. Pour boiling water slowly into the cornstarch mixture, stirring as you pour. Cook over medium h eat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils and clears. Remove from heat. Stir in gelatin. Cool and divide into separate jars. Stir a different food coloring or poster paint into ear jar until well blended. Makes 2-1/2 cups. How to use it: This paint is transparent and has a strong, durable, high gloss finish. Use it on wet or dry paper. It is excellent paint for covering boxes, scrapbooks and so on. If refrigerated, it will keep a few days. Olympics was on all day, all night, like every time you turned on the tv.. and you got to see it all. Now we get these cute little vignettes 'bout the um.. well.. did you see the one about the indian luge guy? only member of the india winter olympics team, learned to luge on a wheeled one on the streets of new delhi.. we fell in love with his spunk in the comfort of our living rooms but we never heard another word about him, didn't get to see him sit his sled. now where's the fun in that? make us fall in love with the guy and then never give us a chance to pull for him. sheesh. and the skaters.. they used to be so impressive to watch.. cuz ya saw the national champions and runners up from all the countries that sent anybody, and compared to the low scoring ones, the winning ones were truely awesome. now we only get to see the awesome ones.. and somehow, because of that, they're less impressive. if ya don't see the guys that are winners! but can't land a double whatever, how can ya properly appreciate the one that attempts a quad something else and bobbles the landing a bit? compared to the guy that does land it, HE looks like a loser.. the best his country has to offer.. what an achievement that is.. but do we appreciate that when we're sittin' in our living rooms watching how he compares with the best in the world? no.. we think well.. he tried.. BUT. sigh. how many people can say they're the best in their country at anything?? what an accomplishment that is! we should appreciate that. CBS won't let us. sigh. do you remember some years back when curling was an exhibition sport at the winter olympics? they made such a big deal out of it! it is such a bizarre sport.. rofl! So now it's a true olympic sport, and it's featured in commercials, but we didn't get to see ANY of it! such a strange sport.. but my kids weren't old enough to notice when was exhibition one, and they don't believe me when I tell 'em when they see the commercial, that it really is a sport, with rules and tactics and skills.. well.. why would they? all they see is that commercial. I only watch tv every other year when they olympics is on. (that's a slight exaggeration.. I'll watch the national anthem and at least part of the half time show of the superbowl, I'll watch an occasional hallmark hall of fame production and once in a while I'll watch a movie on tv.. yesterday I watched troop beverly hills and part of the burbs with the kids, cuz was sunday afternoon and olympics should have been on but they weren't.. I'll watch an occasional concert on pbs or hbo or wherever and I'll watch a bit of the grammies if I get a chance.. and once in a while I'll watch cow and chicken or ren and stimpy or rug rats or doug.. and I've watched most of a couple episodes of keenan and kel this year.. and I watch videos now and then.. and, if I'm cutting rubber or images or doing some other tedious handwork I'll watch some morning talk shows.. they are SO bizarre! but I don't do that much. I'm a visual person.. just most of the time I get my visual stimulation reading e-mail and surfing the web or just reading..) I'm perfectly willing to dedicate my life to the tv for those 2 weeks every other year.. I want to see it ALL (well.. I don't like boxing or basketball or baseball or wrestling and weightlifting, but I will watch those too.. IF it's the olympics..). I like the little vignettes, they add interest, they introduce you to the people.. ya feel like ya know 'em a little, easier to root for 'em, ya know? but 3 hours of olympics a night.. and here on the east coast, that's all we reasonably get.. who's gonna stay up til 12:30 to start watching a hockey game??.. that's absurd. that's not olympics.. that's pathetic. I do like dave's mom though.. I wish I could stay up late enough to see her.. anno (spewin' wordsalad) This message was from "anno" - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum.
