Thanks Terri for doing such a great job hosting this swap and I'm really glad you've decided to make this a monthly event. Sara Margaret- purple and pink booklet of folding triangles, entitled 'Romance Through the Years', six helpful hints on keeping romance alive. The book is sponged in purple and pink and stamped images of a variety hearts are scattered throughout. You've inspired me to try this technique in the near future. Ex Posto Facto - a Dada poetry art mini book. Each page has words cut from magazines or stamped. This is definitely fits the image I have of book art. I'm very happy to be the recipient of this work. Honey Comer - a wonderful coffee book entitled, 'You Know You're Drinking Too Much Coffee When...' A one signature book with a coffee saying on each page and related stamped coffee images to accompany the sayings. Patty Shrader - an accordian book tied together with green ribbon. I like your choice of paper for the cover (a collage of what looks like broken pieces of china). Inside the lower 1/3 of the paper is rollographed with a Nastuium image. Lovely. Vicki Lee Maddox - Vicki's little book comes wrapped in a blue taffeta textured wallpaper sleeve, I like how you cut the flap at an angle. The little book is entitled, 'The Eyes Have It' and inside she reveals a secret vice. Clever, intriguing, well made and and thanks for the chuckle. This give me great ideas for the coffee swap that I signed up for. I am a lover of coffee. In addition to sending the above card, Vicki also sent a card that she received in a swap 1 1/2 years ago. Hi, I'm new to the board, and was so excited to receive my first RAK, on RAK Day no less. The card was from Kate Hill. The card came in a beautiful metalic blue envelope. All four edges of the card are rounded. The background is stenciled in blue with a stripe and small flower pattern. In the center is a darker blue circle cut with fiskars, then, inside the circle is a second circle that is glossy white cardstock with a dog stamped in blue. The saying stamped above the dog is "be your own dog". Kate wrote a nice note inside. I also received a beautiful thank you card from Linda Y. The envelope is white with a heart silhouette shadow. The card is on marbled pastel paper, the corners are rounded on all four sides. At the top of the card, extending down the front and back of the card is a lace paper doily, with glitter near the top front. On the front of the doily, is stamped liliacs in a vase. The vase and leaves are colored and appear to have 3D chrystal laquer on them. I am going to take a guess that the lialiacs are flocked with lavendar, then coated with a clear sealer, but you can still feel the texture, Linda, I'm not sure what this technique is. Thanks is embossed on the front, and a nice handwritten note inside. Thanks so much, for making this a memorable day, Deborah This message was from MRuss72650@aol.com - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. I love you cards! Robyn's is red cs with a layer of patterned red and white paper and on top of this is glossy cs with a friendship warms the heart stamp. Thanks so much! Raine's is yellow cs with corner punch of stars and a really neat saying and a picture of a dragon that has been stamped in black and then restamped with yellow ep . On the inside she stamped hearts with the yellow ep. Really pretty. Thank you! I have this week off from school - so I'm hoping to lock myself in my rubberstamp room and stamp by heart out! This is absolutely the most fun swap I've ever done! Last night I was busy addressing all the "items" on the floor of the office while DH was computing. He kept laughing and shaking his head, all the while trying to figure out the "purpose" of the objects I was sending! Then this morning I went to the post office to mail them. The clerk first told me that she couldn't send them. I explained that yes she could and the clerk next to her laughed and verified it. The clerk kept giggling and telling me that in all her 2 years at the post office she'd never seen or heard anything like this before! She thanked me profusely when we were done and said I'd made her day. The reason for me to tell everyone this is because I was so scared to do this swap and was obviously worrying for nothing. Go ahead and do it....it's fun! =) Elizabeth This message was from ~ lupie ~ - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. I have a new one for you: I got some of that cling stuff for Christmas. You need to use Gallery Glass on it and then cut it out and stick it to stuff. Does anyone have any creative ideas for this without my having to buy a set of Gallery Glass paints? Can anything else be done with it? To be totally honest, I'm not even inspired to open the package and experiment with it at this point. If I can't find an out of the ordinary creative use for it, its going to my friend for her birthday. I just talked with Sue at Rubbernecker and she thinks that I will get the first batch of the new catalogs--which means that you can get them fresh off the press! Rubbernecker is an angel company with high quality stamps. I carry them for 25% off retail for mounted and 10% off for unmounted. The catalog is kind of on the cute side, but also has realistic looking SouthWest images, beautiful Victorian/Flower stamps, pretty Japanese and other Asian themes, and some super great ideas! For instance, have you seen Scenevelopes? They are a stamp that fills your entire envelope and has space for the address, return addy and stamp right in the middle of the scene. These look great whether or not you color them in. There's also pin sets, spiral cards, cards in the round, candy machines (that really work!), candy bar wrappers, and more! This is one of my favorite companies! Catalogs are $4 each. How many would you like?
