I have several (lots and lots) of manilla pocket files. I printed labels for each one saying what color. So, I divide things up by color. Red in one folder. Light blue in another. Forest Green and regular green are separated. Bark in one and petal papers in another. I also do this for things such as Miracle sheets, stencils, box patterns, sticker paper, etc. Each thing has it's own pocket file. When I am creating, I look at my artwork and think, "ok, what color does it need?". If it's burgundy, I go to my burgundy file and pull out everything in there and pick the best thing. Before this, you should have seen my room...what a mess! Now, for the multi colored pieces? Well, don't know what to do about that. I have a couple drawers where all my multi colored pieces are. And for little pieces that I keep for collaging, if it's under 3 inches, I throw them all into a bin and look through it. It's quite fun. Sometimes it's like christmas cause I see things I haven't seen for awhile when I go looking through there! Ok, anyway....this system has worked the best for me. I now have a place for everything that is flat. Those pocket files are the next best thing to rubberstamps, exotic papers, embossing powders...you get the idea. Oh, almost forgot. Then I file them in alphabetical order in a filing cabinet. Whenever they scold me, I'll hang my head. I'll run and I'll romp, always fritter away The time to be spent doing chores every day. I'll pester my children when they are on the phone. As long as they're busy I won't leave them alone. Hide candy in closets, rocks in a drawer, And never pick up my clothes from the floor. Dash off to the movies and not wash a dish. I'll plead for allowance whenever I wish. I'll stuff up the plumbing and deluge the floor. As soon as they've mopped it, I'll flood it some more. When they correct me, I'll lie down and cry, Kicking and screaming, not a tear in my eye. I'll take all their pencils and flashlights, and then When they buy new ones, I'll take them again. I'll spill glasses of milk to complete every meal, Eat my banana and just drop the peel. Put toys on the table, spill jam on the floor, I'll break lots of dishes as though I were four. Your stationery is more cluttered than Warren Beatty's address book. The letterhead lists a fax number, e-mail addresses for two on-line services, and your Internet address, which spreads across the breadth of the letterhead and continues to the back. In essence, you have conceded that the first page of any letter you write is letterhead. 2. You have never sat through an entire movie without having at least one device on your body beep or buzz. 3. You need to fill out a form that must be typewritten, but you can't because there isn't one typewriter in your house -- only computers with laser printers. 4. You think of the gadgets in your office as "friends," but you forget to send your father a birthday card. 5. You disdain people who use low baud rates. 6. When you go into a computer store, you eavesdrop on a salesperson talking with customers -- and you butt in to correct him and spend the next twenty minutes answering the customers' questions, while the salesperson stands by silently, nodding his head. 7. You use the phrase "digital compression" in a conversation without thinking how strange your mouth feels when you say it. 8. You constantly find yourself in groups of people to whom you say the phrase "digital compression." Everyone understands what you mean, and you are not surprised or disappointed that you don't have to explain it. 9. You know Bill Gates' e-mail address, but you have to look up your own social security number. 10. You stop saying "phone number" and replace it with "voice number," since we all know the majority of phone lines in any house are plugged into contraptions that talk to other contraptions. 11. You sign Christmas cards by putting :-) next to your signature. 12. Off the top of your head, you can think of nineteen keystroke symbols that are far more clever than :-). 13. You back up your data every day. - --------- End forwarded message ---------- _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. How About a Trade ?????????? I have opened up another shop and would like to make a trade. I will have a lot of wall space to put sample cards. If anyone has an extra card that I could put on the sample wall, I would really appreciate it.... The folks that come in now, love looking at the cards that I already have up. My proposal is: If you will mail me a card to put on the display wall, I will mail you some more of the foil swatches that I have on hand. I will pay for the postage to mail the swatches to you. That way it will be a trade on the cost of the postage. Besure to include your address for me to mail the foils to.... The cut off will be March 14th 1998. Please mail the display cards to: Wacky Wagon 16857 Miller Lane Lawson, MO 64062 The folks really enjoy looking at the cards. Thank you for your help. Finally I am getting a moment to catch up on my email and tell everyone what a great sss you are. I already said that part in an earlier post but I didn't tell what you sent so....Here goes! 2- 10oz bags of Hawaiian coffee beans, one vanilla flavored(my favorite). A Rubber Stamper's Magazine (which I haven't had time to look at yet) A box of Macadamia Nut Chocolates ( long gone, and delicious!) A package of clear envelopes (so fun to send cards in) Print Works- Cloud kit ( can hardly wait to experiment with this) A Rubber Dubber Set and a Ballooney IV set, (when am I going to get a break so I can play with these too?) A package of pretty heart confetti A large ziplock bag of sea shells (did you find these yourself? They're beautiful!) 2 Hawaiian Key chains (I think this means that she/he lives in Hawaii) A package of fancy buttons and silk roses (very nice embelishments) A personalized bookmark for each member of the family A breast cancer awareness 'ribbon' pin (my mother-in-law went through that a year ago, she's doing great!) Some stamped images for making cards and pictures. paper, paper, paper and fancy paper (Thanks, I think I'm becoming a paperaholic.) Tina, I just ordered Evo's um storage unit. I haven't got it yet but it sounds great. It is 1/16" thick acrylic and you put the look on one side then you index the other side. They all fit in an acrylic case that comes with or without a door. Then you just pull out the sheet of ums that you want. I don't have it yet so my description may be off a little but it sounds better than the bowl that my ums are all stuck in right now! LOL.
