Cowpost is right! I am a calligrapher and sometimes have copies made of my work for my files. Metallics do not come out realistically. If you have a good technician, he will play with the copy and make adjustments. Even so, the metallics won't look great. In my experience, it's hard to find a really good technician. So far, I have found only one who LOVES to see what he can get the copier to do. It has a white embossed fancy frame and black embossed saying. Money can't buy happiness.. That's what Stamping is for. Stampenpal: A postcard with Kaleidoscope colored swirled stamp in the background then a 3-D Layer and in the front is a lady pulling her hair out and very upset. The saying says. It's been one of those days all week. Kim Albert: A simple beige cardstock with two girls in sunbonnets and aprons carrying flowers and in a square around them says Best wishes. The Fairy Stampmother: Celtic stamp squares stamped in assorted colors and layered and 3-D'd and it really looks like a quilt. Very neat. Sandy: Tan cardstock with square designs on the outside. Then a layer with red rectangular designs, then another beige piece layered with black designs then another square on an angle with a great finale piece in hot pink. Very interesting. Here's my 2 cents... from a vendor's point of view. Most of my orders fit in the $3 Priority mailer... no problem there. But, once in a while, something is a smidge too big, and I have to go to a box... I try to weigh the order out before hand, but my scale only goes to 5 lbs... so I guestimate. I have a rate chart from the PO. Well, when I do this, 9 times out of 10, I'm off... Usually in the customer's advantage. Which brings me to my next observation: If the postage is OVER what I have quoted the customer, it is rare that I will hear back from them offering to pay the extra... only a handful of very thoughtful customers have done this, and I truly appreciate it. On the other hand, when the actual postage is UNDER what I have quoted, I almost ALWAYS hear back with "you owe me a credit of such-and-such). I always give a refund when asked.... When I mail something first class, I always round the postage up to the nearest 10 cents. (if it's $1.93... I'll say $2). This helps me cover the cost of the envelopes, tape, label, etc.. One more... Overseas orders.. I try to quote exact shipping by weighing out the entire order, and checking the shipping on the PO's web page. Maybe I'm making a mistake there, as it takes me longer to package an overseas order. Plus, I have to stand in line because of the customs form... Shipping and handling is hard to figure out sometimes... Often, companies have a set amount in their catalogs because they need to! But this is not limited to RS... look at any mail order catalog, and you will usually see high s/h charges. My DH just ordered a manual for his car... $14.95 + $4.95 shipping. The manual came in a $3 priority envy... so they made $1.95 to handle it. Well, enough ramblings on my part... :-) Back to work!! - -Fran the Frantic Stamper :-@ http://www.angelfire.com/biz/franticstamp This message was from FranRShaw - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. It would break off and he would just dig another hole and put what was left in the hole. Pretty soon the box is about 1 foot off the ground. Pretty much too care of the whole thing the next time her ran over it. Now in Phil's defense. He can't help it. He is from North Dakota. I have relatives who still believe that the menfolk should sit down and eat at the table, the womenfolk can either wait or eat in the kitchen with the kids.... and they think nothing of it. I think it is in the water. Now as far as the driving from North Dakota. Lordy.. My uncle is one of those "Snow Birds" who goes to Arizona in the winter. Whenever I would ride with him I would just close my eyes and pray. I did remind him a couple of times that it probably wasn't a good idea just to merge or change lanes, cuz there was traffic. Please, delete the message entitled "PENPAL GREETINGS!" as soon as you see it! And pass this message along to all of your friends, relatives and the other readers of the news groups and mailing lists which you are on so the they are not hurt by this dangerous virus! WARNING!!!
