Plus as an added bonus, he's involved in something with you! Kids are our future, and it sounds like Joseph has a great one ahead of him. - -----Original Message----- From: Paula Jo To: rubberstampers@crafts.dm.net Date: Sunday, March 22, 1998 9:48 PM Subject: RS: TAN: My son's 1st Convention Well, I have finally gotten around to getting back to the e-mail. The convention was great!!! First, I wanted to say that my son, Joseph, loved it!!! He took 118 pins to convention and traded them all. Most of them were traded before the show started. He had them all pinned to his vest. Poor kid had alot of people stopping and having him turn around so they could see his pin collection. His pins covered the front and back of the vest. After he had traded all of his pins, some stampers gave to him their pins that they had brought to trade so he could add them to his vest. Needless to say, he was tickled pink. He is already asking about going to Carson again in July. Joseph was really taken with a couple of the vendors. One was Jim Stephans. Joseph kept asking to go by Jim's booth again and again. Thank you Jim for being so sweet to Joseph. He is still talking about you. The other vendor that Joseph is still talking about is Curt Connor of Connor's Collectibles. We refer to Curt as "Glitter Man" because he is always wearing Art Institute Glitter on his face and clothing from doing demos. The people at the show, as I said before were great with Joseph. When they found out that he had spent 3 months making his pins, they were really surprised. Many times I heard the ladies say that it was really unusual that a child his age, especially a boy, would be that dedicated to stamping. Joseph just got more and more filled with pride over that. (As did Momma). By the way, AntPam, I need your addy. Joseph found your purple ribbon pin where you dropped it and tried to find you, but couldn't. Thanks again to the stampers who attended the convention and who traded pins via snail mail with Joseph. You really helped make this experience one he will not soon forget. Then from Jennifer I received a card made into four squares with blue/white checks then each square has a different apple in it...Apples have been colored in nicely then in the top left square it says...With all my heart!!! Wonderful card, especially to give a teacher!!! Then from Michelle, a lil bitty card made from blue card stock and has the large sunflower and leaves in the center...This would be a nice card for enclosure in a gift!!! Then from Kathy, white card with blue and then a starry paper layered with the lil angel placed on top..The angel is colored in with pen very softly...Nice card!!! Then from Cindy, a PC with vines and flowers embossed in green, then a gold bow glued on top and a gold rippled paper (?) layer with three flowers embossed and colored on vellium on top...What a great card idea!!!! Swap Thanks everyone for the suggestions about this swap. The postmark deadline has been pushed back to April 11th (Saturday). First this swap started out as a card/scrapbook combo swap. Many of you only want to do cards and a few want to do both the cards and pages. You have your choice you can do 5 + 1 cards, OR 6 cards and 6 scrapbook pages for 5 of each in return. That way this swap will include everyone! I hope this isn't too confusing. SIGN UP NOW!!! THIS WILL BE A LOT OF FUN. NOTE: If you do the card/scrapbook combo please use the same stamps to make both. This will be twice the fun! Swap Name: SU!
