Just take your exacto knife and cut the rubber out! Stay away from the raised printing areas and slice into it slowly and carefully all around - you don't have to be neat, just stay away from the image. When you have it cut, take a tweezer or some sort of flat edge and pull up on the excess rubber. The glue will give easily and you'll have a clean and empty space with no more smudges. Save the rubber chunk you cut out and trim it into a pleasing shape. A simple leaf or flower petal is always handy, or a star or heart would work. And there you have it - a perfectly clean image to stamp and a new bold stamp to boot ! You don't have to deny yourself stamps you love any more. It may appear to be in alphabetical order, but there is some doubt among the most astute observers about whether those darn snails even KNOW the alphabet. So if you don't find who you are looking for where he or she should be, I suggest you use the "search" function on your email account to try to locate her or him. For example, if you are looking for Feathers, who will find her (McCormick) after McEntee not after McCauley as you might expect. I've "fixed" this particular entry on the master list, so it will be correct in the future. But who knows how many other out-of-order names there are. Certainly, not me...
