OK, this works fairly well for me...those wierd corners when you are trying to border the card with a big design are pretty annoying. I make a long strip of the scissor design (just cut the edge of a paper longer that your card) and then I can line it up with the cardstock and tell just where I want the design to begin and end. Then you match up the correct spot on the scissor and voila, goodbye wierd corners.. of course you have to do it on the top and bottom piecs, too, if you are bordering the whole edge, but, it does make it a bit easier...I have ruined less cardstock since I started doing this... and if you are doing 3 sides, it is easier to do the top and bottom first and then do the side. We had been in MN for our new niece's christening and my FIL's BD this weekend. I had the most fun and was the most relaxed I have ever been at my inlaws in over 20 years of marriage! (Even though I love them dearly in small groups!) My DH has a BIG family and I am an only child, so I always tend to get antsy when they all are together. But this weekend was so much fun! His sister and BIL were there from MA and his aunt from Omaha, too! My FIL, who had been very ill at Christmas and in Jan. (we thot it would be our last Christmas with him) is doing great, too! I just got "into" scrapbooking and took over 100 pictures! My DH and I were Godparents to this little one and it was esp. cool because she is the first kid to look like ours--dark hair and eyes--in his family this generation!! The rest have all been blond or redhead. It was also a lot of fun to see all the little nieces and nephews (and not so little ones, too) in a setting other than Christmas or Easter when they are on sugar/toy highs! Anyway, the baby wore the christening gown and hat I bought a few years ago to save for our "grandkids"--it is a long ivory satin and lace one--just beautiful! I bought it in Mexico, where they know how to do these things and also got a fab deal on it! Since my 2 kids are in no hurry to provide grandkids, I decided *someone* should make use of it! LOL! I also want to now embroider her name and baptism date (unobtrusively, but readable if you look) along the bottom of the gown. Then as each baby in the family wears it, I will add names and dates. I think that will make it a very special family heirloom. I'm taking the film in this morning so I can start putting together her scrapbook of the baptism weekend. Thanks for listening, if you're still with me. Can you tell I'm excited??! Mona (have I shown you pictures of my godchild???) Just ONE more day! I must say that I am VERY impressed with the generosity of all those who have sent donations!!! Rubber stampers are certainly a giving bunch of people!!! I have received a number of E-mails from people who have mailed entries and are concerned about their entries making it on time....and still others who say they have just seen the post and are wondering HOW they could play at this late date! Because this is a fundraiser....and the GOAL is to raise funds...here is what I have come up with! I will post a list of all entries received as of today.......Monday. If you have sent your entries and do not see your name.......E-mail me and tell me the number of entries sent. If they do not come on Tuesday I will make up proxy entries for you. If you have NOT sent entries yet.....but would LIKE to....E-mail me IMMEDIATELY and I will make the entries for you! You do not HAVE to make entries ......but you must send your payment immediately! IMPORTANT!!! If a name is drawn and that person has not sent the payment yet...it will be announced as a "Proxy" winner....NO NAME WILL BE LISTED!!! If payment is not received by April 7...a new name will be drawn from all paid entries that have not already won a prize. Remember, however, that there is no limit on the number of prizes you can win...but obviously if ONE of your entries has won already it will not be put back in!!! Just to clarify....people who have donated ARE ELIGIBLE to send entries for the drawing as well!! If their name is drawn for their own prize it will just go back into the drawing. The only people who can't play are Giggles and Peter Pan!! The drawing will be held at 7:00 PM EST at Giggles' house....at the Peanut Butter Fudge party! All local stampers are ENCOURAGED to attend!!! I've heard rumours that Giggles is giving door prizes....and Linda Farrell is bringing Lindt truffles...for me anyway ;-)....but heck.....I'll share!!! :-) If you don't live close enough to come to the party.... and have AOL...winners will be announced live in NvrLand ! (just click on this link and you are there!) Should be fun.....and maybe a few surprises there too.....eh Giggles? The name and address of each winner will be given to the person who has donated the prize won. The prize will then be mailed directly to the winner from the person who has donated it! So now there is ABSOLUTELY no reason for you to miss out!!!!!!!!! I closed my aol account and moved to Mindspring. Today is my first day and I am already having trouble. My brain wants to use AOL functions and Mindspring is refusing to play. Please help. How do I set up my email so that I will not receive all the rubberstamping header stuff like how to subscribe and unsubscribe to the list and a bunch more stuff before I ever see the message text? I would like to set my email not to show this but I do not know how. Can anyone help me with this? Also, how do I filter my list email to separate RS, TAN and COM into different folders or mailboxes or whatever? Can I add a signature line to my email that will always show like those of you who always show a quote in your email? I sure hope someone will give me simple instructions for doing this. Thank you in advance for your help. You always come through.
