Debbie added in some of the 3-D vinyl swap. Great idea, Debbie. I wasn't disappointed. From: Violetnut: A 3-D vinyl puzzle card. This came out neat. From Debbie Miller: Debbie cut her shelf liner into a heart shape before embossing it in gold. This would be a great Valentine idea. From Anita B.: Hard to describe this card. Anita used a shell theme with squares and circles of shelf liner embossed in different colors. The overall color scheme was plum and black and gold. Really dramatic. From Anita B.: Using the same colors, Anita came up with a totally different card with silver and taupe embossed shelf liner and a neat sun. From Elizabeth Ruuska: A realistic pond scene. Koi appear to be really underwater under the 3-D vinyl. And lily pads really seem to float. Makes you dizzy. Never thought to use this vinyl in a water scene. Great idea. Thanks for hostessing, Debbie. And thanks for the Easter stickers and goodies!!! Sandy This message was from Sandra Hampson, one of the two stampers in Kingman, Arizona. You can see through the mount so you can see exactly where you are stamping. You can also combine more than one stamp on a mount instead of stamping several individual images on a card. You put the loop side of the industrial strength Velcro on the back of the um. It has a sticky back so it is easy to put on. Then you just put the um on the acrylic mount and the Velcro holds it together. There are several people on the list that have expressed an interest but don't want to spend $20.00 for the starter kit of HALOS plus the $5.99 for the yard of loop tape and $15.00 for the Kai scissors without knowing they like the system first. So this got me to thinking that what people need is a trial kit that would be very inexpensive and still something useful if they find that HALOS aren't the way they want to go. So what I have to offer is a HALOS grabbag. It has a 1" x 1" acrylic mount with the hook tape already in the recessed grooves and 5 postage size ums that already have the industrial strength loop tape on them. All of this for $5.00 plus .55 cents shipping. Add $1.00 shipping to Canada and $2.00 shipping to Australia. The HALOS starter set does not have the 1" x 1" mount in it so if you decide you like the system there would be no duplication of mounts. The postage size ums include a dragon holding a heart, a blue bird getting ready to land, a butterfly in flight, a scarecrow in a frame looking at a sunflower, and a frog on a lily pad. For those of you that are already sold on the idea of HALOS I have a special for you too. Free shipping in U.S. when purchasing the HALOS starter set along with 1 yard of loop tape and the KAI scissors. The HALOS starter set consists of four acrylic blocks. Sizes included are l.5" x l.5", 2" x 3.5", 2" x 6", and 3.5" x 4.5". Each set comes with 1/4 yd of 4" loop tape. The whole set of 4 and the tape is $20 (plus $3 shipping if purchased without the um grabbag). Additional tape is available for $5.99 per yard. A good pair of scissors is a must to cut through the rubber and industrial strength loop tape. KAI scissors are wonderful. They are actually scissors for trimming Bonsai trees. Stampers use them for cutting ums (unmounted rubber). They are very sharp and cut through rubber like it was butter. I sell the Kai scissors for $15.00 plus $1.00 shipping. Let me know if I can ever help you with anything! I accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and checks. Washington Convention Hi all, Now that I can think straight , I can report better. I bought several cattys while there on saturday. This was good convention advice. Since I hardly got near the booths to see the stamps , I made sure that I got the cattys from the vendors I was interested in. I only got 4 stamps because I kept thinking to myself " so and so sells this on the list at a discount"!!!! My list vendors have spoiled me! I would say that "no one" discounts at a convention, at least none that I saw. But it was nice to see the stamps and other stuff "in person". Chris and I ran into Betsy Ritter at the Paula Best booth and we giggled and squealed with JOY!!! and hugged! it was so fun! I wish I could see all my list family like this. We got to see Ellen and Dale "Evo" but they were soooooooooo busy!!! I brought my camera and only took one picture and it was of them!! There was so much to carry , we were swamped! And the crowd never did thin out! the set up was like a craft fair and no room to watch demo's in front of the booths. Chris went last year and said they were better arranged then this year. What do you vendors and people who were there last year think about this year??? I'm sending an email to Ft. Washington Expo center to express my feelings. And I do plan to go in August but probably will stay over night. Driving 6+ hours in one day was hard , especially when you are on your feet walking all day. I missed some classes I wanted to attend and would have gone back on sunday if I lived closer. I got cattys from: Angel's Attic , Paula Best , Judi-Kins , Claudia Rose , Smiling Dog Designs , Rubber Tree Stamps. I bought a clear acrylic stamp from Smiling Dog that is a corner design that can be repeated in a pattern - beautiful! I liked Angel's Attic designs (never heard of them before) which remind me of Sonlight . Painted Turtle had some gorgeous papers but I resisted. I had a budget and browsed before I bought At the Limited Editions booth I gave a pin I had made from their yoyo cat stamp to the ?owner/designer? She said she had more yoyo stamps in design right now and would be coming out soon. She was demonstrating a basket stamp (which I bought) that make a basket card that you could put paper flowers in. It's hard to describe. And the little memory books from their stamps. But I couldn't buy a catty, only sell to vendors! I liked the Paula Best booth. They had those unusual CAT stamps (bought 2, a cat butterfly & unusual cat angel) I resisted buying more but all you CCCC members better look at one of their cattys soon. Stamps Happen were there with their beautiful stamps and examples! Exquisite art and there was a demo going on with water color. RBBB was ther with their um pit. My friends went into the "pit" but no way was I getting on the floor!LOL So much to see and do and I want to go again!!!! I'll be missing Mass. conventions because DH is working that weekend but I am saving up for August at Ft. Washington again. I guess I should be honored that she wanted my Cat yoyo pins. I wish I had come back on Sunday. Maybe in August , when they have it again, I will just stay over and spend more time with people. We left the convention at 4 pm on sat. and I looked in the big room and could SEE BOOTHS AND ISLES!!!!! but had no energy to "walk the beat"again! It took me sunday and today to rest up but I expected that and it was worth it. I don't know how the vendors do it! You all must be tired after a busy weekend like that! Bless you! Some of you know my daughter, Stamparoni.Others of youhave read her humor on line. I must tell you that each of her children share in that same humor, but at this point it is strictly by accident ! Today Libby, a pre-schooler, came in so very proud of herself. In Sunday School they are learning the Lords Prayer. She entered the room announcing that her mother should sit down and listen to what she had learned....and this is an exact quote..."Our Father has an arc in heaven, with a HELLO by his name." Children are Wonderful...they keep a smile on my face ! Diana Stamp Camp is only 3 Months away ! Come along and join us in Springdale Arkansas as we learn new stamping techniques and make new Stampin' Friends. E-Mail me for further information !
