I have the paper edgers you used, mine never seem to come out that nice. Thank you! Maxine - MY FIRST KLIBAN CARD!!! I'm ecstatic! It's the kitty with the red heels, WHICH, by the way I was too late on getting (bummer!). What kind of glossy cs did you use? It's textured somehow. The cat is walking a path on a hill, how did you do the hills? And there's a sun in the blue sky saying "oooh!". This is really nifty, thank you! Janie Mundt - She did an easter work block (HA?) and stamped two singing kitties. That was on white cs and then layered on a pinkish/purple cs, which I believe might be from Fran? I have some and like it! On the inside is a saying, how did you put that in? It's foil-like. Thank you! Barbara Corry - Cute card of orange cs, then black and then yellow with a cat having it's mouth open. On the inside it says "Wishing you a wildly exciting day!" Barbara, please tell me the paw print on the back is not real. If that's your cat I would hate to cross paths with it! *lol* Thank you! I havent had much computter time lately so I haven't posted my descriptions yet; so here they are.... Victoria Flaherty-The back ground is a beautiful burgendywith sponged gold, on top of that is a pink deckle cut square and on top of that a beautiful laminated mosaic strip in greens and pinks and burgendy an then she put the PSX rose egg ( same one I used, but I liked the way you did yours soooo much)mounted with foam dots to stand out and embossed in gold and colored in in burgendy and green. An overall beautiful card! From Laura A Stampington Faberge Egg- the background of the egg itself is some kind of pretty pearly stuff, I can only assume it is interferance paint. The flowers and details have beautiful multicolored glitter and the stand is done in a bronze metalic. This is mounted on a purple mulberry paper with a sheer plum ribbon across it and all on a navy card stock. It is great! From Michelle Bloye- Also used the Stampington egg embossed in gold on a lavender paper that is flecked with gold and the corners rounded and the right corner is done with a lovely corner punch. The florals arecolored in and have a light dusting of glitter in a multi color. This is on a textured gold paper and then on a deep purple with a purple ribbon. Verry nice. I must get one of those corner punches. From Andrea Lum- Looks like a PSX immage?? A verry detailed egg on navy background embossed in gold and mounted on foam tape and hanging from a gold cord on a tiny twig on a lavender paper with purple butterflies all on navy card stock and inside a light colored speckled paper and in a lovely script it says' " Live one day at a time and make it a masterpiece." From Christene Cox- a card on black semi gloss are two beautiful eggs and they are multi colored and embossed-how did you get them to look like that! I like the way they stand out and are so many colors. From Clarice Ota- A big mesh egg embossed in gold on vellum? and colored in purple and mounted with gold photo corners on a gold crinkley paper and all mounted on a lavender speckled cardstock and inside it says may your day be all your wishing for embossed in gold. Everyone did a great job and all the cards were truly lovely. == Naughty Newbie Seeks Rubberstanding -------- }INK ME{ @@@@@@@@ _________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!? My aunt just had a baby, a boy, her sixth child. Nathan (who is the third child and about...twelve, I guess) is estatic about having a baby brother and took his basketball cards to the hospital so he could get the kid squared away on the important stuff. He also wanted to make sure the baby would watch the basketball game that night. Carly, the fifth child, is five, I think. She has been chanting "He's sooo cute!" about her baby brother....which might not seem that funny, but is. When my aunt had her first appt. with this baby, they gave her a magazine, which had pictures of the baby in utero and which Carly got ahold of. Carly promptly freaked out, shrieking "these babies are weird! I don't want a weird baby!" It took my aunt a long time to convince her that the baby would not look like that and would be very cute....but I don't think Carly fully believed it until she saw the baby. With all the talk about it being so crowded on Saturday, I'm glad we went Sunday! The convention was great! We headed first for the Evolving Images booth as I just *had* to meet Evo and Mr. Evo. What wonderful people! I bought the set of 7 acrylic templates and these are going to be really great for making perfect sized layers for cards. I also bought the holder so I can keep all my templates together and handy on top of my work table. Even though Evo was super-busy with customers, she took the time to show me how to flip over the templates and use the beveled edges to get straight lines with chalks and rub ons. These templates are so wonderfully thick and sturdy! Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers was there and I went digging through their pile of rubber on the floor and found several that I just had to have. Coffee Break Designs was new to me and had some nice things. I bought a large "telephone pole top" rubber die from them. They had samples of it stamped on a card with blinking lights inserted, as well as stamped on an envelope with the address along the telephone wires. Sure was "different"! At Inkers-A-Way, DH saw that they had truck stamps, so he helped me pick out some dies. The people at Inkers-A-Way were so nice... they actually remembered me when I came back again to their booth later. They had "sets" of scenic rubber dies for $5 that work together and can be used in sooo many ways... 2 to 4 dies in each set. I got the "Park Set", "Sidewalk Set" and "Hills and Curve Set". After doing more browsing and having lunch, we sat in on a half hour demo of "Stained Glass Technique" by Silver Fox. Really enjoyed that and had to get a few little bottles of the translucent paint so I could play ! Wow, did I have a tough time at the Stamp Camp booth - I've never seen so many great sheets of rubber dies in one place at one time! How do they get so many sayings or pictures on one 4X5 sheet of rubber? (more than a dozen dies per sheet for only $8!) The woman at the booth was just so nice... and patient! Trying hard to stick to the rubber budget I set for myself, I chose two sheets... one with funny sayings and one with the adorable little brownies... but I can see lots more of these in my future! At Connor's Collectibles, my aunt and I saw all these beautiful tiny paper roses and asked about them. We were given a demonstration how to make them! They have a wood mounted flower stamp with a rubber stamp on both sides that you stamp and cut out, then use a quilling tool to make perfect little roses for cards! Amazing! Both my aunt and I had to get a stamp and tool! I can't wait to try this! I also got some "tie dyed" sticker paper from The Sticker Dude, Ragged Edge Press. Throughout the course of the day we talked to so many vendors and stopped at every booth and I just can't remember every single one. I know there were List Members there too, but we never connected (or I didn't know if we did). We chatted with complete strangers and had fun trading pins with those that were trading. Everyone was so nice, friendly and enthusiastic... a really fantastic group of people! It was just under a two hour ride for us to get there and by the time we got home, we were all pretty exhausted. Now I have templates to try, rubber to wood/halo mount and roses to make, which will keep me happy for a while!
