Deborah, Although racism and sexism continue to be major problems in this state, I doubt if that is why you were pulled over. The state police here have set some kind of national record for catching drug smugglers on I-70 of which there are many. Their primary strategy is to stop every van with an out of state license and chat with the driver. How they decide whom to search further is, of course, a deep dark secret. And their secondary strategy is to stop any car with an out of state license that speeds in the fast lane of I-70...supposedly, the smugglers are too stupid to go the speed limit or have radar detectors. This strategy is not a secret nor a guess on my part; there are articles in our papers about it on a regular basis. (I guess smugglers don't read local papers either!! Or maybe the newspaper is on their side; one of them is UMC's own student run paper!) I'm not buying this, "I only had time to blow kisses excuse," either. Our local stamp store is just a block off the freeway and I live a mile from it; now how long would that have taken! :) Thanks for sharing your adventures and the Moon Rubber addresss. My mother, sister and niece went to Guadalupe's last week in what was to be the last day's frosting-on-the-cake of their visit, but they arrived at 4:45, and the store closed at 5!! (The Georgia O'Keefe museum or gallery was closed that week also!) Some of the moon rubber images you mentioned are ones they wanted, too, so now I'll get the catalog...and have no trouble getting them birthday and christmas gifts for a year or two... And next time, you drive by, at least honk!! :) Darlene Sybert http://www.missouri.edu/~engds/index.html *************************************************** The Sun does arise,/ And make happy the skies. If you were a artist back than to be famous you had to do the human form no question. I have a collection of many hundred pictures of paintings done pre-1900 and in one group of 350 there is only 2 or 3 of guys, and another few of children, and maybe 30 of women almost fully clothed, the rest are mostly nude. Several of you have seen some of these that I have emailed you and they are wonderful works of art. However, if any of these were painted in the last 10 years the artist would be branded a porno artist and the model a porno star. It is like the protection of the government has made everything beautiful dirty by having so many rules and regulations that the focus is not on the body anymore but on the acts that it can perform. Why is sexual and nude used to mean the same, I see almost nothing in common. The ladies in my life that I remember as very sexual were that way long before, if i even did, see them nude. And maybe when one sees a very sexual person in the nude that person will become less sexual in their mind. I know that the first time I saw Marlene at a dance almost 5 years ago, she was very very senuous, she still is today and I bet after meeting her 80 year young mom at a wedding wearing the shortest dress there and having the legs to do it, that Marlene will still be a very senuous lady at 90. We no longer can allow beauty, as it seems to upset to many people. Phil Cynthia Sillitoe wrote: > > >Sometimes my art is overtly about sex, but mostly it is *informed* by my > >sexuality. Arts Tomorrow 30-35% off I am going to place an order with Embossing arts on 4-16 at NOON. Every stamp in the catalog will be 35%off retail. All accessories will be 30% off. They have wonderful paper items, Brass stencils, stamps, tons of great accessories and colorbox ink pads. They also have Circle Cutters. This is a one time offer, I have a customer with an order that they really need. Come on and email your order and help me get the minimum. Thanks and we do accept Credit cards. Due to the fact this will be a custom order and I do not keep this kind of inventory I need a firm order commitment when you place your order. I have been watching my boyfriends dog for about a month now because he had no place for the dog to go. The dog's original owner couldn't keep him anymore because he had moved to an apartment and because the dog had bit a kid who was playing with his son. Well, silly me thought that I would be the good samaritan and keep the dog here. Then when I was away for a weekend, the dog bit a person and a cat. I should have known at that point that he wasn't meant to be here. I have 3 kids that I should have protected but justified it all by thinking he would not hurt my kids and would listen to me as he had been really good while he was here. Once again, bad judgement prevailed on my part. See, I have a cat, or I guess now I should say, I had a cat. She got out last night and the dog, a German Shepard, got a hold of her. I just feel so guilty that I let it happen and that I endangered my family by having a dog here that had no business even being alive after all of the things he had done. So now, I have a vet bill to deal with and a burial of a cat that my family loved tremendously. Sorry to pour this out to the list but I just needed to talk to someone. I'm Communication Sciences and Disorders major here in Southern Missouri. In one of my classes, we're discussing the different methods of teaching a child with HI to communicate. I would be very interested in hearing what method has been chosen for your child (niece, nephew, grandchild....). While my professor is extremely knowledgeable in this field, I'd just like to get the input of those who have been in the trenches.
