So the last house I really dragged my feet. Walked on cement slab floors down stairs for a year while I decided about tile, and the kitchen got done. It was in Arizona, so the cool floor was actually a blessing most of the year anyway. This time we bought a raw piece of land and had a manufactured house put on it. Right now we are about 5 years behind on the improvements and landscaping. I don't know whether it is the fact that I am getting older, or busier so that I don't notice as much, but it isn't bothering me like it used to and I know it will get done. Thanks Glenyce for the great service - fast, courteous and all at a great price. She also included a cool card that has liquid applique on it and I got to heat it and watch it puff up. SOOOO COOOL! LONG Omigosh, I am overwhelmed at your generosity Germaine!!!! I received my package today and I still can't believe how much you managed to stuff into that Priority mailer. I've never won anything before and now I feel like I won the lottery!!! I think you must be psychic too--so many of the things you sent I had been needing, and not able to get out to buy. I am recovering from a broken foot and while that is not so bad, we are also having monsoon season in the Ohio Valley complete with flooding--nothing worse than wet crutches AND a wet cast! Stamping and this list have saved me from going completely crazy but I am ready to get back to work. I've been an L&D nurse for 20 years and the only times I've ever been off this long were to have my own kids. This list never ceases to amaze me with the selflessness and generosity that is extended to those in need--in such creative ways!! You, Jamie and all the other donors are angels and I hope you realize just how special you are. I can't wait to play with all my stuff: 1. a shop til you drop stamp ( are you sure you don't know me? LOL) 2. a pack of post its (much needed-my sons took all of mine) 3. a bunch of the little ziplock bags ( great for sharing EP at stamp club) 4. a bunch of business card sized magnets ( have been looking for these) 5. a bag of EP (What is the name of this color--I love it!) 6. several disposable towels for cleaning my stamps 7. several different sizes of cardstock strips--perfect for bookmarks (I make these for the kids classes all the time) 8. a dozen clear envys--I've never seen these! 9. a dozen door (?) hangers for "do not disturb" signs (I only wish they would work in this household!) 10.the most beautiful collection of colors of glossy pre-scored cards--gorgeous!! 11. A bunch of white glossy cardstock---thanks so much, I'm taking Angelhrt's Stampscapes class and really needed more!!! 12. some cream colored classic linen cardstock with matching envys 13. some clear acetate sheets--I've been needing these too for my shaker cards! 14. a bunch of half-fold envys--how did you know my cards always seem to grow past the size of standard size envelopes? 15. two different sizes of 17 pt vellum--beautiful!! 16. onion skin paper--I would love some hints on how you use onionskin--to line cards, or similar to parchment? I want to be like the following stampers when I grow up! Ha! If and when that ever happens! Yikes! These cards are so beautiful. Thank you so much for making this one of the neatest swaps I've ever been involved in. Lynette Rhymes (if you have never received a card from this talented lady, you need to beg her for one. This is my 4th card and I'm always so amazed by how beautiful her work is!) Yazdel has so much detail on her card that I can't believe she actually chose this stamp to do the Angle Flight cards with. Yikes! Not me.....I took the easy route! Beautiful Card Yazdel and thank you for the sticker and the note! Nana Bev sent a card with Vellum and I just have to ask.......how did you get the stars on the Vellum to look like a background? Did you stamp on the opposite side of the Vellum? Enquiring minds need to know! Your card is gorgeous! Kim Albert made the cutest little angel magnet! Just too darn cute for words! It has a new home on the refrigerator! Thanks Kim! Clever idea! Thank you ladies for adding such joy to my day with these lovely cards! Giggles to you always! Thanks you so much Linda!! The card is dark blue, with a glitter embossing all over it. to look like the night sky. Then, there is a gold moon, and then a very pretty Angel layered over that. Her wings are allgold embossed, and her skirt has a hint of gold embossing. It is colored in gold and blue. She looks like she is flying. There is a tad of blue mulberry (I think--looks like it), and another sut out that says "Hark the Herald Angels Sing." Inside, it simply says PEACE. Very nicely done! And made me get out more Angel stamps and get started!! Thanks so much Linda, Sure do enjoy this!! Everybody is so quick to help others and share information. So, in that vein, here's my question. I also will be going to my first convention (Cincinnati in August). I haven't done my first stamping yet. I bought stamps and a couple stamp pads and a Somerset Studio Magazine (WOW!) and I am reading these posts to see what other people are doing. Anyway, what do the pins look like? Do you put the convention name on them or your name or what? Will I need to make pins for this convention? I want to fit in, but I don't know what to do? Thanks so much for your help. JoAnn This message was from JoAnn Glenn - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum.
