I am always so impressed by the time people take to make such wonderful things to look at (and send through the mail!!). I also have a "Featured Artist" page. The "February Featured Artist" shows some stamps from Anne Made Designs and then art by Joan E. Wear using some of those stamps. Joan was also featured on the last cover of RSM. To visit, go to: http://www.blue-eagle.com/rubberd/artists.htm Be sure to hit RELOAD whenever you visit my site, cause I'm always changing things. If anybody out there would like to see their (or someone else's ) art on the Featured Artist Page, just E-Mail me for details. I'll do it as long as space and time permit! Enjoy the view!! I used blank index cards and stamped them with hearts that look like candies from All Night media, they say things like; Kiss Me, True Love, I love you, just like the little candies. I stamped them down the left side over lapping and in random positions. Then used a background stamp with little solid hearts to create a background to the right of the candies and stamped Happy Valentines Day in a contrasting color over them. I cut out around the candies and used a corner rounder on the other corners. I also put to and from on the back with lines for her to address them herself. They were really easy. Checked them every few days but at the end of a month they hadn't begun to change. Left them in the water until early March and decided it was time for the experiment to end. Some of them had lost enough leaf tissue to make them interesting, and those I pressed and used in collages. But none of them came close to completely skeletonizing. Would like to hear from others who may have tried this process as described in Penny Black's book. I called some botanists at Baylor and asked if they knew a method for skeletonizing leaves. One gave me the name of an acid that might work but it had to be obtained from a lab supply co. and I never followed up on it. It was so much fun. I want last year as well, but this year was so much more fun, as I knew more people, and met many of my on line buddies that I talk to almost every day. I first thought,"I could but alot of stamps with the money it costs to go on the cruise". After having gone at the last minute last year, I was so glad I went. It is great to buy stamps, to have more paper, to get the new paper edgers, but do you hold fond memories from any of that? The sharing of knowledge, friendship, talents, staying up most of the night, laughing until your sides are ready to bust, eating ALOT of great food, lifelong friendship ties, there is no price on that. This was now my second time going, and I am going to go every year. It was like a reunion, and with many years ahead of me, I look foward to each one. There are many demos every day, classes, and make it take its.And lots of open stamping areas to go and sit and stamp, chat, and eat chocolate! There is a pin exchange, card exchange, contests, and a mini convention. There are several stamp cruises coming up over the next year, I recommend anyone who is thinking of going, to save up, and do it. I guarantee you will have no regrets. Alot of husbands went this year, too. One of the hubbys made a pin that said", She's the addict, I am just here for the food". lol .It was funny Happy Stamping, Laura - STmpaholic :-) ------------------------------ From: Michelle Drabek Date: Tue, 11 Feb 1997 15:32:17 -0600 Subject: Re: Returned mail I have gotten this to--from when I send stuff to the list--- Shell > >Someone want to tell me why I get this? The catalog is printed on brightly colored paper with black images. They also include instructions about what kind of inks to use. The Zimlets (stamps to be used only on paper) are in a section of their own. They too are rather primitive or stylized solid images. I have ordered from them several times & the service is terrific, as in the stamps arrive about four days after I call. They also send you the supplements once you order. No affiliation, blah, blah..just a very satisfied customer. Should add the stamps hold ink nicely and stamp a very nice image. It was wonderful. As a veteran of many, many cruises, this was most definately a new experience. I didn't make it to a single entertainment show (except one cocktail party with some line dancing), didn't once put on my bathing suit or lie on deck, and only had one drink -- nothing like cruises of the past. But I did learn ooodles and pick up many hints and tons of great project ideas. I am a newbie - been stamping since November and I NEED any help I can get. Really enjoyed. Nice meeting the stampers and really nice getting to know some of the vendors. Definately time well spent....I'm still tired. Oh and the Viking Serenade is a beautiful ship. Would recommend this to anyone interested in learning more and meeting people. - ------------361962B9212D0 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Type: text/html; charset=us-ascii
