Every single stamp company (angel included) prohibits ALL forms of mechanical reproduction. I can see their point when it comes to reproducing images from their catalogs--heck, if we could do that, we wouldn't need the stamp! However, where I take issue, is after the stamp is purchased. At that point, I am of the opinion that **I** own the stamp and short of commercial use, should be able to make whatever use I want of it. For instance--say I have a stamp of a cute girl and another of a dog. Together they would make a great card. However, suppose the dog is just too large in comparison with the girl. The easy way to fix this would be to stamp the dog, and run it through the copy machine at a reduced size. Then just cut him out and stick him on the card. Voila! Perfect proportions. However, according to the stamp companies, this is illegal. Another thing that would be great would be if we were able to stamp say a picture of a little girl in a pinafore. Then you could scan her into your computer and use a program like Paint Shop Pro to give her a textured pinafore. Something you could NEVER do with pencils or markers (at least I could never do it). I have noticed that stampers DO make reproductions--saw a card in Stamper's Sampler recently where the directions clearly said to make photocopies of the stamps and size them to work with the card. How do the rest of you feel about this? Sad that you are "of two minds on this one", Lisa. You say it seems "a bit insensitive". I say it *is* ALOT insensitive! However Reagan was before having Alzheimer's, the point is he now has the disease and "humor" like this is hideous. And regarding Linda (a.k.a. Giggles) .... I would say that it is alot different how one speaks of and jokes about herself/himself vs. what others may say about her/him. It is just *not* our place to make fun of people with diseases/disabilities!!! Note: I would CC to Linda but I do not have her addy. I expect you will see this anyway, Linda, since it is addressed to the list. I sincerely hope you are not offended by your name being mentioned.
