I had 2 dolls as a child. The first one was Gabby Gail. You pulled a string in her back and she talked. The first time my mom pulled the string and that doll talked I screamed hysterically until she gave the doll away. Next one was Angel Baby. I liked Angel Baby. She was sweet and quiet and pretty until my little sister cut all her eyelashes off. Then she became ugly and evil and I screamed until mom gave her away too. My sister had Mrs. Beasley, don't know whatever became of her. I probably buried her in the backyard when no one was looking. No dolls, no sirree. Stuffed animals was where it was at. I still have the little pink elephant, Linda, I got when I was 4 years old. The only exception is if you do a large stamp that can only fit a couple of times on the card, then the card can be cut in half and used like a mat. For example, a floral image from PSX is usually large, so just stamp the image twice on one card and the card could easily be cut in half. ** Procedures** Send TEN cards Send ONE DOLLAR + SAML Due in mail by end of each month. I've had a lot of requests for these tips lately, so I though I'd just send them out to save everyone a lot of email. For those of you who have recieved my tip sheet before, this is the same tips only put in an easier to read format with no repeats. Thanks! Pearl Tips Mix the Powdered Pearls (PP) with 1/4 part Gum Arabic (GA) to one part PP and a few drops of water for a thin wash somewhat like a watercolor wash. Mix the PP with *up to* 1/12 GA and a few drops of water for a more viscous paint. Use as you would watercolors. Thin it to desired consistency. You can even get it almost as thick as some acrylics. PP does work best when on the thin side, however. When you are finished with your mixed PP for the day, set them aside=20 and let any leftover dry. You can rewet the PP next time and they will=20 come back to life, just like watercolors. Use your fingers or a soft, dry paintbrush to brush PP over the surface of your paper. Mix and swirl them around for more unusual effects. Spray with Krylon Crystal Clear or Krylon Workable Fixatif. You can mix the PP colors to get different effects. Play with them a little. You can play with just a tiny amount and see how it will look.=20 Crimson and gold are really nice! White Pearl is good with just about everything. So is gold. White and gold make a wonderful shade that looks like angel wings. Actually, gold and white pearl mixed with any of the other colors is fantastic, even copper! It takes just a tiny amount of GA and PP to play and find your own special colors that no one else has. An amount the size of a match=20 head is enough to preview a mix, yet not waste too much. Let the GA soften for a minute or two. It needs to absorb the water so it won't be lumpy. To use PP with your markers there are two ways you can do it. Color a small amount of your marker on a non absorbent surface. I use one of my acrylic stamping blocks..it washes right off. Dip a toothpick or wet paintbrush into desired color of powder and add it to the marker on the surface. Mix it around some. Use a little paint brush to apply the mix to your project. Now you have a pearl color for every single shade of marker you have! You can also dip the tip of the marker ever so slightly into the desired PP and color directly on the card with it. =20 It will blend while you mark. Gently wipe tip of marker VERY well when=20 you are finished. You can use the PP mixed only with water..but you need one of the sealers mentioned above. This gives a more dramatic coverage of the PP than applying it with your finger, yet it's not as vibrant as when=20 mixed with GA and used as watercolor. You can mix PP with Perfect Paper Adhesive (PPA). It gives a slight sheen to the dried color. It's thickness makes it easy to handle. You can also use Mod Podge or any other instant decoupage product. I can't tell one bit of difference between PPA and Mod Podge or the Plaid=20 Brand. Mix the PP with other mediums. Acrylic extending gel, liquid acrylic thinner. The very thick bodied, so thick it's actually a paste, makes=20 a startling application when mixed with the PP. It is an impasto technique, but it looks like molten metal was formed in the swirls. =20 Too Kewl! < I saw some tiny tiny glass beads in the art supply the other day. They were smaller than Beedz and colorless. They are intended for mixing with acrylic or oil paints to give texture to the paint. I would think it would also work for PP mixed in a gel medium. Be interesting to see if the glass beads refracted through the PP. What an excuse to go buy some of those beads!! Rules of Acquisition and all that. There is also a liquid gum arabic available. In fact, that's what you will most likely find if you find any GA at all. I prefer the powder=20 GA because you can control the viscosity of your paints better. Use PP with sealing wax. Heat and stamp your wax as usual. Gently tap the rubber or metal stamp into the PP. Impress as usual. The PP acts=20 as a release agent. You do need to seal this. PP looks great mixed with EP. When you use the White Pearl in any 'plain' type EP it looks like a foil EP when heated. I love the foil EP's but they are sometimes hard to find. I've not tried to mix PP=20 with any 'fancier' EP. You can also mix the PP with clear and add micro=20 fine glitter and you've got a custom match for anything you want! Use can also rub PP over hot, smooth EP for a neat effect. Just be fast and be careful! PP also sticks well to ribbons. Use it very lightly, however. Miracle tape! PP works wonderfully on Miracle Tape (MT) Use it as you would with powders, just don't heat. I really love the double line effect. Lay down a strip of one of the wider MT's. Remove the backing leaving the sticky side up. Place a strip of one of the thinner MT's down the middle..or anywhere you can make it fit1 With your finger or a brush apply PP to the surface of both tapes. Brush off excess. Remove backing from the smaller tape and apply another color of PP in the same manner. Brush off excess. Isn't that super? The second color don=92ts stick to the first color because the sticky covered it all. It is necessary for you to make sure you *firmly* rub the PP into the tapes.=20 You don't need a sealer on this technique, but it wouldn't hurt at all. I haven't tried it, but I=92m sure it would look great on the Miracle Sheet. You can mix PP with your sealing waxes instead of just stamping on them. = =20 Use PP in Fimo, Sculpy, etc. Just knead them in. Use PP for paste papers. I've not tried this, but it sounds *great*. I have seen Interference gold used in paste papers and it was so=20 delicate, I'm assuming the PP would be as well. A friend of mine who marbles is playing around with PP. I'm anxious to see the results of both the marbling and more paste papers. You can also use Powdered Pearls (tm) in cosmetics. Use only=20 pearlesent powders you *know* are cosmetic grade. My PP ARE cosmetic safe. If I come out with a color that is not, I will certainly let you know. Lotions, lipsticks, lip gloss, nailpolish, eyeshadow, blush, hair gel are just a few that my daughter and I played with. It's powerful brushed straight on the skin. The PP that I sell are made for the cosmetic industry, you more than likely already use them if you use any kind of makeup. That's all I can find now, but I'll keep looking for more!
