Take a piece of paper, sized the width you want, and make it long enough to fold up over the bottom, around the back, and tuck into itself on the front. Staple inside paper you have cut to fit. You can perforate the paper so it can be removed easily...you can use a purchased sticky pad. Decorate the outside with your stamps to suit the occasion. Decorate the inside and the papers too. You can also cut a little strip of sand paper to attach to the back, if you really want it to look like a matchbook. You can also substitute a stamped object for the inside, such as upright birthday candles. Make them different graduated lengths and alternate the candles to look like matches. Cute birthday card! It was a wonderful time for us all. I wanted to share that -- I'm still feeling really gentle and wonderful as result of this day. Now for card sayings -- My cards said "My the joy of your First Holy Communion stay with you forever". Another simple choice could be something like "May this day be filled with Blessing and Joys that last a life time." Because I know the children quite well I also wrote a note in each card thanking them for letting me share this special day with them -- and asking them to pray for me today and always. I know this is simple but the cards and the day is for the children and sometimes simple is good for them. I'm acquainted with several instances where artists have been downgraded for using a commercial design in competition, when the artist was the copyright holder on the design. I don't know about PSX, but I'm aware that some non-Angel companies are willing to license for reasonable fees and or may just want to be given the courtesy of being asked. I'm also aware that there are *some* artists/companies in addition to Disney that/who'll sue when they become aware up prohibited usage. As for me, I care because I like to have some idea what the rules are. On the rec.crafts.textiles.needlework newsgroup it was publicized that one cross-stitch chart designer limited the license to use on her designs to the original purchaser only ... and to one stitched item per copy purchased. If you wanted to make a pair for your daughters, *she* expected two charts to be purchased. The concensus was that she may have the legal right to make this limitation, but that most of newsgroup members were going to avoid buying charts with such, to their minds, overly strict license limitations. Fran's swap reminds me: I found the funniest Francis Meyer sticker of a French poodle shopping & sightseeing in Paris. It's got a '50s retro look. Anyone know of a catalog with similiar kinds of images? Aaaaarrrggh! You'd think Peter Pan might clue us in, but Noooooo....... So it may be that the image in question was found as clip art somewhere and not stamped at all. (I've found several images in public domain clip art books that I've also seen in RS catalogs that I am considering having made into rubberstamps - just so I feel free to use them without any limitations at all ... makes me nervous that someone may consider me a thief if they happen to see them used in some manner not approved by an RS company!)
