Was playing around with EP and mulberry paper, which I've done before, but this time I put a twist to it. I stamped maple leaves in dark green ink on a pale paper. Then I took a light green mulberry paper, and stamped willow leaves on it with clear embossing ink. I EP'd this in topiary EP. After heating, I wasn't sure if I liked it. Then, by mistake, layed it on the cardstock wrong side up! This was awesome! It gave it a surreal look, without detracting from either type of leaf. You could still see the maple leaves beneath the mulberry paper, and the willow leaves looked really cool with the thicker mulberry fibers obscuring the total leaf. Just a thought to try! I've just given myself a whole new range of ideas to try! I don't have much money to spend...I shop around, a LOT, looking for the Best deal for my Buck. When I inquire with a vendor, I am right in expecting an answer to my question, right? Oh Tina Honey, You have to come up with a strategy on this. I think you need to head to MA before everyone else arrives as you need to check out the scape and all! Hmmm, any work to do to the place you're moving into? Any papers that require in-person signing? C'mon, you just havta find a way to get here a week sooner :>) Tammy aka JestaStamper :>) - ---------- > From: Brett/Tina VerHulst > To: TDMAX@prodigy.net > Cc: rubberstampers > Subject: Re: RS: Re: Pre-Marlborough Gatherings/Tammy's SSS strikes! > Date: Monday, May 04, 1998 5:47 AM > > > > Tammy Couturier wrote: > > > > > > > OH MY GOSH...one month from tomorrow til Marlborough!!!! The entries are wonderful ideas!! Join in if you want some special surprises. If you aren't sure if you have a "proper" stamp, just ask me. Sandy) I don't know how to explain this other than the word "gimmicks". What I mean are the gumball machines or stamps that make something with moveable parts (think Limited Edition), picture frames, snow globes or scenevelopes. You know...that expensive stamp you had to have to make one card and now it sits idle. Am I making this clear? E-mail your questions or suggestions to make this an interesting swap. Because this is an image swap with no designing or coloring needed, it should be an easy one to do. SWAP: Gimmick Stamps Swap ITEMS: 10 /10 DETAILS: This is an image swap not a card swap. Stamp your image on appropriate paper. (Use the paper and ink you have found to be the most successful for this stamp.) Do not color it. Include any directions needed. I haven't had much time lately to participate - so I'd like to rectify that by sharing some techniques that I have been experimenting with. The first one is one I experimented with this week-end - a technique I had seen demonstrated at the Ft. Washington convention. It really looks great and is easy!!! Thought you might be interested in trying this method. All you do is stamp your image and color. I chose a stained glass image with an iris and colored it in deep, rich colors. Then, stamp the image again on a piece of miracle sheet, or mac-tac, or anything else like that. Then, I cut the image out closely. Peeled back the bottom layer, and added it on top of the image. Then, peel off the top layer of the miracle sheet. Next, get your clear holeless beads and a box lid or anything that will catch the beads. Pour the beads all over the miracle sheets. Voila - you are done!!! The stained glass image was beautiful!!!! I also did an underwater scene and covered the entire card with the beads - - spectacular!!! You can adapt the same method to smaller areas - say the inside of a flower, in water to look like rain drops, in a bird bath for the water, etc. Have fun and let me know what you come up with!!!
