I second that thought! I look at the cards I get in swaps and that people scan online and I feel like a second grader when I compare the cards I make. I don't have the "eye" that others seem to have. Just found the Noah's Ark cards I'd received a long time ago--March maybe--they were in the bottom and back of a huge drawer I'm finally cleaning out. Anyway--don't remember who hosted but pkg they were in said Susan Benedict--if it's you, Susan thanks, if not thanks for hosting to whomever. Received cards from: Cyndi -- a wonderfully overful ark embossed on soft vellum that's tied with a silver elastic cord over what looks like more vellum that's sponged?!?! in blue. Very nice card Sharie Soriano -- on very light vellum she's embossed in black then colored in a cute ark, then tied it on with silver ribbon over cs with rain drops and waves--really cute (DOTS stamps) Cheryl -- Same Ark stamp as Sharie only rainbow stamped on glossy sponged in blue and some waves drawn. Says, With God All Things Are Possible--very nice ? --Same Ark embossed in black and water-color markers used to color, placed on tourq. square and they are layered onto a large rect. card with bubbles stamped all over. Really like this (some DOTS person should show all three of these as to how you can do such different and neat things with one stamp!!!) Tina Chacon -- Stampington Ark very nicely colored with pencils, placed on a neat textured craft paper heart and layered onto confetti cs. Heavy twine bow to side of heart. Nice idea ? -- Tiny ark stamped and colored , then laminated for a magnet Thanks again, and sorry to be so late. I am sorry but it takes a little time to buckle a kid into a car seat and load your stuff in the car. Once someone blocked the only exit from the row. He was so close to my car that I couldn't back out by myself. He kept yelling at me that he wanted my space and I needed to "hurry the hell up." I tried telling him that I couldn't back out until he moved. He refused to budge. Finally someone else came and helped me by directing me out of the space. It took me about 10 tries to get my car out of the space. When I left the guy yelled at me and flipped me off. Where was I? The mall between Thanksgiving and Xmas. And then I thought, "I wonder what everyone else is doing with them?". So, why not host a swap??? Here's the details: NAME: EVO's Templates swap TYPE: 6/5 cards (I'm going to send the extra cards to EVO to see how much we like her templates!) REQUIREMENTS: must use EVO's acrylic templates in some way on your card - -- I guess that pretty much means layering, but layering with what is completely up to you (as is how many layers!) DUE DATE: postmarked no later than July 15th (but please note, cards from the US to Canada sometimes take longer than you might think, so make sure your cards are in the mail early!) Postage Requirements: SAML and $1US Special Notes: Again, I am up here in Canada so I will have all the Americans send me a US dollar bill to cover the cost of postage. If any Canadians are interested, please include the same amount of postage that it cost you to send the cards to me. Please email me if you are interested in playing. This is my first Mothersday without my Mother. She passed away nine months ago tomorrow.I have a very difficult time working through this, because I moved to Belgium 3 years ago from South Africa. I received the news early Monday morning that she was on her last. I took the first flight I could find the Wednesday evening, but she passed away while I was on my way. I never got the chance to say goodbye.I'm a bit older than you (34) but I have 2 small children, that will never get to know her. Just like you, I miss her and all the love she always gave so freely, more and more. I always spoiled her with flowers, since my Dad is'nt the flower type, and now I live so far, I can't even put flowers on her grave. Since I'm all teary now, I won't say much any more, just also say, Happy Mothersday to all those lovely Mothers on the list, and if your a child and still have your Mother around, hug her to death, and tell her how special she is, and how much she means to you!! Try the 5 minute cleaning. Set up 5 minutes for a task. Pick a room, dishes, or clearing off a table, etc. Set the timer. See how much you can get done of that particular task in the 5 minutes. When the 5 minutes is up, change tasks, see how much you can get done of that one. Keep going, make fun of it. Or you can make it a ten minute limit - if you can stick with it that long. Another trick is to make a job jar. Get a jar. Make a bunch of strips of paper. On each strip, write a task. Such as, dishes, going through mail, dusting, clearing off a table, folding clothes, etc. Pick a paper out of your job jar. You can either do it like above, for a limited amount of time. Or you can pick one strip of paper a day, or one an hour, or whatever works for you. Hope this helps. I send my husband to the store with the kids and see how much I can get done while they are gone. Or how much I can do during a commercial, if I'm watching t.v. and feeling guilty about not getting anything done. Maybe I just work better under deadlines? Good Luck!
