I love my southwest swap. Such creative people on this list! And southwest is my favorite style. Don't know if all of these have been described, but for anyone whose hasn't been, I'll do mine. From:Denise Svehla:white cardstock edged on the bottom with blue ink(how did you do that so evenly?) on red cardstock three Navajo-type designs near the bottom, then layered blue, red cardsotck with some kind of straw or rafia type stuff under two corners diagonally, and on the layer of red cardstock on white is an image of a mare and foal embossed in black and colored. Very nicely done Denise! Michelle Mohr:on rust colored cardstock small gold and silver embossed images and two larger silver-embossed feathers, then layer of blue cardstock with gold-embossed kokopeli and real feathers and blue with gold cardstock strips sticking out from behind the blue kokopeli cardstock. Very pretty Michelle. Love the feathers. Linda LLoyd: tan cardstock stamped with Imaiden with a wolf looking over her shoulders and a feather embellishment in her hair. Simple and elegant! Debi Lym: light brown cardstock layered with natural cardstock with gold-embossed snakes from Stampin' Up, then a layer of gray parchment and hanging over that is a stamped piece of fun foam that has been heated to look like leather, and it is hanging from a piece of jute. Fascinating and interesting technique! Cathie Mulder: turquoise cardstock, then a layer of silver, then a layer of turquoise, then a layer of black on which are embossed 2 kokopelis in turquoise. a section of the silver paper sticks out on the right and is stamped in black with Indian symbols. It was sent in a clear envy. I am a newbie and have never seen one before. I love clear envys now.Got to get some! Wonderful job! Thank you all who played with me! Hi all, I just wanted to brag for a second. I went out and bought a new printer! I've needed one for a while, but never had the money to get one. Biz has been good, so I went out and got a nice new printer. This will keep me from going to Kinko's all the time when I needed to get something printed really nice. But Kinko's turned all their computers to Win 95, and I don't like 95. It takes me too long to re-format my documents because I have to figure things out and Kinko's doesn't have the font I need on their 'puters. So I end up putting my font on their computer so I can print my document! Now, in the time it has taken me to write this, I can have my doc in hand looking very nice! It's not a lazer printer, but it's darn close! I didn't tell DH I was going to do this. Hope he doesn't get too bent out of shape! thanks for listening! It is very simple to do, you need a 48"x16" piece of shelving, and a 1" x 1/4" x 48" piece of edging (the shelf I found at the used place had it already on the edge of the shelf) to fasten on the edge of the shelving. Then I purchased at Menards a 48" alum. rule make by Johnson Level and Tool Co., and a small Fiskers hand held rotaty cutter used by quilter. And some rubber stamp blocks. Took this all home and my cutter was ready to try and it worked the first time. To use it the shelf is laid on the floor (only flat surface not totally covered with a project) with the lip created by the piece of edging facing up. Then, the rule is 2 in wide and I wanted to cut 10" pieces so I found some rubber stamp wood that was 8" long and laid that on the shelf one at each end. Laid the edge of the stuff to cut against the lip of the shelf, laid the ruler on top against the far edge of the wood blocks and just ran the Fisker cutter along the far edge of the ruler, and I had wonderfully straight piece 10" wide and 42" long. And was faster to use that a regular paper cutter, because the blocks hold you to the same size every time. If you need a different size just use different blocks. Hopes this helps someone, out there. Phil - -- Phil Schloss Come visit my on-line rubber stamp catalog, you will love the designs. Makes me want to throw up myself. I think maybe (but I'm not sure) it has some derivate from Italian?? maybe not. I learned it from an Italian. And most of the ones I know, know that word. Basically, it's a verb, or at least it is when I use it. --`---,--{@ Patti @}--`--,-- ~~^~~^~~^~~^~~^~~^~~^~~^~~^~~^~~^~~^~~^~~^~~^ PLEASE NOTE MY NEW ICQ NUMBER: ICQ #2355192 ~~^~~^~~^~~^~~^~~^~~^~~^~~^~~^~~^~~^~~^~~^~~^ Computers are life.
