They are really nice! Meridee - A pretty sunflower layered on a net. Inside it has a pop-out made to look like a beehive. It says "Housework gives me hives". Oh so true! Never had a problem, and I even use these when I'm mounting with quickie mount (blue foam type stuff that makes great mounts - as far as I'm concerned, and I've got **hundreds** of stamps on it) ... You really don't *need* a foam cushion with Quickie Mount .... *but* if I use it, it keeps my image up outta the ink pad ... heehee and plus, I don't have to use that rubber cement. It looks like we will not be able to have just one club due to meeting space problems and as a result this has evolved into what will probably be various stampers circles meeting in homes throughout the area as interest grows. I am more than willing to be the person to make the questionairres, match peoples based on talents locations etc., do the newsletter and keep this organized as this whole thing was my idea to start with and everyone seems to be continuing to look to me to make it happen. MY PROBLEM IS THIS: I have invited the woman who has an office store with a small stamping area to be a part of the group as I know she enjoys stamping and I have taken a couple of classes with her as well as referred many others to her for classes and shopping. I did not want to leave her out despite the fact that someday, hopefully soon, I want to become more involved in the actual stamping business be it through something like Stampin UP, desiging my own stamps or becomming my own retailer (although I don't see myself having a store for many years). At the same time, this is a CLUB, seperate from all businesses and I DO NOT want to exclude anyone. "Julie" (made up) has suggested I use her mailing list as a way of letting people know about the club. On one hand yes, I want people to know about the club but on the other hand I don't want her to think I'm sneaky and deceitful if I start selling Stampin up later this year etc. I am pretty sure other club members are involved with things like creative memories etc. I am strongly thinking I should meet with her and just being 100% honest with her and see what she says. The way it stands now I told her I wouldn't take the list and that if, after it started, she wanted to mention the club in one of her regular mailings, that would be fine. Maybe my concerns are not valid but I pride myself on being a good person and since I am new to all this business stuff I though perhaps some vendors out there and others as well could give me their input. I don't want to step on anyones toes. I actually think that the Hallmark example is very comparable to rubber stamping. But one that is even better is it you look at the edges of alot of craft fabric, you will see a copyright notice and/or a statement that the fabric can not be used except for personal use. All of the case law that my attorney found for me showed that the owner of the copyright wins. Sometimes there may be a suit over who's copyright it really is, but if someone could prove they owned the copyright, they won the suit. That is the main reason why I think that places like Disney, etc have 100's of lawyers and paralegals that scan everything they see for a possible copyright imfingement. It is not unusual at all for a single lawyer to collect millions in a year for a company by just telling people to stop using the copyright and pay up. Many people every year are put out of business for using other companies copyrights, even in such simple things as using clipart found on the web for their business. Copyright and patent law is very complicated. But it is all in favor of the owner of the copyright/patent and I feel that is the way it should be, otherwise, there would be no reason to do research or for an author to write a book. First of all - WOW. What an amazing package! I wasn't worried about receiving a package from you - I'm in it to give as much as to receive (well, almost as much ). I absolutely loved everything - my dogs kept wondering why I kept gasping when I reached into the box. I love the tonal applicator - - I have been using a stamp that I got from A Stamp in the Hand (by Kevin) as the tonal applicator but the dots are not as fine so the colors don't blend as seamlessly. I don't have the canoe either - I saw my brother this weekend and we just set up a canoeing trip so that was quite appropriate. I will probably send him a card of "us" canoeing up the river (using the path stamp). And the wonderful wolf stamp from Rubber Monger - I love it!!!! I like southwestern designs and in fact our living room is decorated with a southwestern motif. I didn't have a stipple brush but have heard all about it on the list - I saw them at the last convention I was at and almost bought one but alas funds were running low. And 2 purple tria markers - great colors - I love the tria markers. I have all the Marvy markers and use them alot. I've just started to get the trias and already have the 12 colors that come in the primary set as well as some fleshtones - and now I have purple! I was so excited to see the brown marvy matchable - I've been wanting that to use with my coffee-related stamps. I am getting ready to go out of town (this week - Wed to Sunday) so the books will be great. I haven't read either of them (nor had I read anything by either author). It's so nice to be introduced to new authors. I've also just borrowed the new Patricia Cornwell from a friend. I haven't had much time or energy to read lately but I will starting this week! I hope I haven't forgotten anything - you should have seen me digging out the treasures mixed in with the packing (candy and rafia). It was a wonderful package - thank you very much. I almost forgot - I immediately sat down and looked through the catalogs - The Artist Stamps is wonderful don't you think. My favorite is still the jumping siamese cat.
