Diane Bowman - a pleasure in pink (and blue) flowers - very pretty posy cutouts technique Lisa Sim - lots of gold and glitter here. I'll do my best to describe them all so that everyone can hopefully tell the great work that was done by all. But, first thanks to our hostess Dennie for hosting this great swap! I love all the cards that I received. And thanks for getting the cards to us so soon! Tell SANTA I loved my gifts too:) Dennie's card is a white glossy card with a DOTS Santa hanging from a red ribbon (one of many of my favorite DOTS stamps). Behind the santa is a deckle cut embellishment dazzled with glitter. And behind that are more Christmas designs with more glitter. Very nicely done. Thanks a bunch! Val Kildaw's card - The cardstock is pine green on the outside and white on the inside. I love this cardstock, tell me where I can get it, Please. The outside of the card has a border embossed in copper embossing powder. In the center of the card is a pine cone and bow stamp embossed in silver. Just beside that is a Merry Christmas saying embossed in gold. On the inside of the card are two pine boughs (one at the top and one at the bottom) and in the middle of that is a Christmas saying "May Christmas Bring Friends to your Fireside, Peace to your Pathway and Success in your New Year. Val's card was finished off with a floral glitter spray. I love glitter and now I know I can get it in a spay:) Thanks Val for such a nice card! Cissy's (StampnMom) card - This is a pretty layered card done on red cardstock. The first layer is a very pretty paper lace doily and on top of that is a red poinsettia that was embossed in gold and has splashes of glitter on the poinsettia and its leaves. All set off with the added touch of a green satin bow. Very pretty. Melinda's card - Love these trees, Melinda. This is a double card done on vellum and white cardstock. On the front of the card are three embossed trees highlighted with prisma glitter. Underneath the trees is the saying "Merry Christmas" followed by more glitter under the saying. The inside of the card says "May your Christmas glow with love". Great card! ShoMas Creations' card - Another great layered card done on red cardstock. The first layer is white background paper with stripes and dots. The second layer is background paper with the saying HO HO HO!!! Both background papers have been cut the deckle scissors. On top of these papers are two bears holding candy canes. Nice touch. One bear is wearing a green satin ribbon and the other is wearing a red satin ribbon. Just beneath them is the saying "AH...Christmas! The inside of the card is also layered! First layer is of green and white striped background paper, the second is red and green dots topped with a Christmas greeting saying "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. All of course cut with deckle scissors. Nice card! I have those bears too! Received my first official swap today. The M&M swap. THanks to AlphaBecky for hosting this fun swap, and for making a great M&M magnet, complete with a mini M&M envirotexed on the magnet! She also sent a great card, a guy with his huge mouth open and lots of M&Ms going in with saying "M&Ms really will melt in your hand, but nobody has ever held them long enough to find that out" Then on the bottom is a p'nut M&M that says "I'm glad he doesnt like peanuts". She also made this tiny envelope with M&M confetti in it. How did you make the circles so perfect? Great! Next was a great pin made by Ululani Pomroy: a candy machine with one M&M inside and three hanging by jump rings from the bottom of the machine. Really cute! I love pins. Then a cute card with a P'nut M&M package coming out of and embossed levi's pocket. It really looks like denim. The person who made this card did not put their name on it! I would love to know what color embossing powder/ink you used for the pocket. It's great! Next card was from Carole. She embossed "Take time to enjoy life's little pleasures" and used mulberry paper, a ribbon and and M&M ad all glued to yellow paper. Very effective and colorful! From Ann-onymoous came a card with a RBBB angel singing "Heaven...I'm in heaven..." with M&Ms flying all around her. Its wonderful. Finally, a card from rubrobcsed that has great clouds and M&M bags and candy with wings (that she chalked in pastels, beautiful)flying around. The caption says:In heaven chocolate has not calories and is served as a main course" Well, take me to heaven! This was truly tons of fun! Thanks again Becky! Hi ya'll. Ok, I'm a procrastinator. I admit it. I need to make about 12 million pins by this weekend, and there are a ton of questions running through my mind since I've never made a pin, never been to a convention, and I've only ever seen about 4 convention pins.... What kind of glue do I use to attach the actual pin to the laminated stuff? I tried my YeS glue on a practice pin and it didn't seem to work. (!) I'm guessing hot glue gun... but I donno. How big/ small should they be? should I put my name on them somewhere? Am I going to be attacked if I don't make enough and end up running out?? Any helpful hints would be *greatly* appreciated!! I don't have time to do a lot of coloring, etc., so any time saving tips would be great, too. TIA! Menfolk they tickle me! Also have you > noticed that they are really the ones that take the longest to get ready > to leave for a outing? definitely. I've taken to tellin' him we gotta be places half an hour before we really have to be there, so's we won't be more than half an hour or so late. Sunday our daughter had a game.. and I told him, we gotta leave at 12:50. so at 11:50, he sez he's goin' out to wax his car. and I remind him, we gotta leave in an hour. no problem. so at 12:20, I go out and tell him, we gotta leave in half an hour. no problem. So at 12:45, I go to look for him and I look all the way around the house and finally find the man on the ROOF. sheesh. I dunno it's so much it takes them longer to get ready as it is that they have really really very peculiar ways of getting ready.. anno This message was from "anno" - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum.
