And don't even > talk to me about breast tissue after nursing a couple kids! LOL Apology accepted! And I not only will "try to deny" everything you say here, but I could prove it if I had to! :-) After such a stereotype bunking post, it was a shock to see the comment insinuating that having children when young makes you look old sooner. That rather contradicts your remark that having children when you are older keeps you young longer. You can't have it both ways, can you?? Well, in a way, you can! Because the truth is that having or not having children and what age you have them doesn't have much to do with how young you look.... It's been my observation that how much time a woman spends on her appearance usually has more to do with her economic and social position, her values and her emotional health than on how many children she has or how old she is when she has them. And the idea that breast tissue is damaged by nursing is way out of date, Wendie. Even in the dark ages when I was having children, it had been proven that such things as diet, exercise and heredity determine the graying of hair and sagging of breasts regardless of whether or not you have children and/or nurse them. Those of us who look significantly younger than other people our age would like to find a way to take credit for it...but about all we contributed to it was a healthy lifestyle (and usually we have our parents and the way we were raised to thank for that. I've never learned to drive his car, because I don't wanna find out which of us he loves more if I wreck the thing! it's NOT fun to drive either, IMO.. he did take me out for a lesson in a parking lot once shortly after we were married (1979 too, we got married 'bout 3 months after he got the car.. 18 years in october) and it is HARD to drive.. I don't do standards, but I probably coulda picked that up if the thing had power ANYTHING.. but it doesn't! hard to steer, hard to stop, hard to shift.. where's the fun in that??? I decided we were better off if I did NOT learn to drive the thing. I keep telling him to get another car to just drive, and play with this one and he keeps pointing out that even with the high maintainance costs (ever tried to find parts for a 28yo swedish car in south carolina?? 2 summers ago the thing had a stroke, had to have a new engine.. wound up having to get a re-manufactured one, FROM sweden, and for some reason I'll never figure, they put it on a boat to california and then had to truck the thing to the east coast.. you don't even wanna know how long that took, OR what it cost!..) it's cheaper than a new car.. I keep telling him I wasn't suggesting a new car, but wouldn't it be nice to have AC in the summer?? cuz when the thing dies, it takes ages to get it back together and he seems to think his need to get to work takes priority over my need to get to the grocery store and my volunteer school gigs and getting the kids to practice and whatnot and appropriates MY car for the duration! hmmmmph! he doesn't fly down the highways though.. least not anymore.. anno This message was from "anno" - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. My husband is such a sweetie! Today was our 20th wedding anniversary and when we got married I wanted and had yellow roses in my bouquet. So today I was at the computer and happened to look at the window and a delivery truck pulled up. Bob had a bouquet of twenty yellow roses delivered! I think I was more surprised that he even remembered what kind of flowers I had! He was so proud of himself when he got home!! Now I feel bad because I didn"t get him anything because we had said we weren"t going to ,since we are building a house and moving into it next month! I thought that this was present enough for both of us! Oh well- I guess I can give him a different kind of present!!???!!
