Let's look at this algebraically. 1. First of all, pick the number of days a week that you would like to have sex. We'll call this x since this is the only variable. 2. Multiply this number by 2. 2x 3. Add 5. 2x + 5 4. Multiply it by 50. 100x + 250 5. If you have already had your birthday this year, add 1747. If you haven't, add 1746. This will give one of the following results: 100x + 1996 100x + 1997 It depends on which number you added. 6. Last step: Subtract the four digit year that you were born. 100x + your age, which will give the desired result. Basically, to change this, subtrace 250 from the current year and the year previous and tell the person to add that number. For example, next year, tell them to add 1748 if they've had their birthday and 1747 if not. It will work again. See? Math's not that hard, and sorry if I've disillusioned anybody, but it's a simple trick. :) Jeff / Santa This message was from Jeff Hitchin - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. " "The Window", author unknown Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour a day to drain the fluids from his lungs. His bed was next to the room's only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back. The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation. And every afternoon when the man in the bed next to the window could sit up, he would pass the time and entertain both of them by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window. The man in the other bed would live for those one-hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the outside world. The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake with ducks and swans. Sometimes children sailed their model boats. The park had flowers of every color of the rainbow, and grand old trees, and squirrels played their games. There was a fine view of the city skyline in the distance. As the man by the window described all this, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene. One warm afternoon the man by the window described a wedding party taking pictures in the lovely park below. Later a parade passed by. Evidently a circus was coming to town, and he told about the elephants holding each other's tails as they made their way down the street.. Although the other man could not hear the band, he could see it in his mind's eye. Unexpectedly, an alien thought entered his head: Why should this other guy have all the pleasure of seeing everything while I never get to see anything? It didn't seem fair. As the thought fermented, the man felt ashamed at first. But as time passed, his envy eroded into resentment and soon turned him sour. He began to brood and found himself unable to sleep. He should be by that window - and that thought now controlled his life. Late one night, as he lay staring at the ceiling, the man by the window began to cough. He was choking on the fluid in his lungs. The other man watched in the dimly lit room as the struggling man by the window groped for the button to call for help. Listening from across the room, he never moved, never pushed his own button which would have brought the nurse running. In less than five minutes, the coughing and choking stopped, along with the sound of breathing. Now, there was only silence--deathly silence. The following morning the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths. She found the lifeless body of the man by the window, and he was taken away. As soon as it seemed appropriate, the man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone. Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up one elbow to take his first look. Finally, he would have the joy of seeing it all himself. He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed. It faced a blank wall. ================== Moral of the story: The pursuit of happiness is a matter of choice...it is a positive attitude we consciously choose to express. It is not a gift that gets delivered to our doorstep each morning, nor does it come through the window. Our circumstances are just a small part of what makes us joyful. If we wait for them to get just right, we will never find lasting joy. The pursuit of happiness is an inward journey. Our minds are like programs, awaiting the code that will determine behaviors; like bank vaults awaiting our deposits. If we regularly deposit positive, encouraging, and uplifting thoughts, if we continue to bite our lips just before we begin to grumble and complain, if we shoot down that seemingly harmless negative thought as it germinates, we will find that there is much to rejoice about." You are WAY too generous! Ever since you told me that a package was coming, I've been so antsy!!! I'm having SUCH a busy day and when I went down to check my mail, I was so psyched! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! And thanks to Frank for sending in on to me. It's a background themed package (I dig that you chose a theme). Each part was giftwrapped in green metallic wrapping paper (I'm saving some of this, it'll be good for collages): in the order I unwrapped them: a WHOLE bag of make-up sponges - I've been looking for these and keep finding the ones I don't want... these are the ones I DID want. You must've read my mind! a paintbrush with a clip on the end for holding sponges (better sponging control - thanks for explaining this... I did not have a clue what it was for... it's gonna come in REAL handy) tiny chicklets gum in a rainstick package! I LOVE this! We have a rainstick and I play with it often. The gum is such a funny idea. I'm gonna keep it by the computer so I can have a "rainy" day whenever I want one - not many of those here in L. A. A soft rubber BRAYER!!! I have to shout. You are TOO nice! I have been DYING for a brayer and keep not buying one. I pick one up EVERY time I'm in the stamp store and then don't buy it. Can't wait to play! A celestial rollagraph wheel. This is really pretty. It'll be great for doing envelopes and stuff. Cool! A HUGE box of chocolate cheesecake fudge! OY! I made myself eat lunch before trying a piece. That stuff is to DIE for. Yummm... The handle and ink for the rollagraph! I'm psyched to try this out. A foam brayer. Boy, am I going to have fun doing backrounds! A round art sponge. 3 natural sponges. A Stamp Art City Skyline template... this is cool! I've never seen these. Samples of different kinds of brayered backgrounds with directions and cards to try them out on. This is SO thoughtful! I love that you put this together. There's a net bag in here too, to use with the brayer. A nice note saying that SOMETHING in this package is a hint - I've thougth of how almost anything in here could be a hint, so I'm going to have to make a list of ideas and cross things off as I go... :-) And last but not least, a beautiful, handmade, black portfolio with silver and teal webbing on the outside, layered with a piece of very heavy silver cardstock. On that silver cardstock is a black piece of paper which the corners have been decoratively cut (I love that corner) and a SO cool silver dragon has been embossed on.... This is SO nice. It is tied shut with a teal organza ribbon. Inside it has pretty stationary that looks like it has herbs and flowers in it and evny's to match. Whew!!! SS, thank you so much! I can't wait to get my work done, today so I can play with all this COOL stuff. You are as sweet as the fudge you sent! Sweeter! xo, Deb This message was from "Debbie Evans Braun" - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. Thanks to Lynette Walters for hosting this fun swap. I got the neatest cards! >From Carlene Czarnik, a beautiful card made from a deep golden brown cardstock. The card has copper embossed leaves all over it and then has some leaves that were stamped on dark green cardstock and embossed in copper glued on top w/foam tape. There is a neat saying going across the top and bottom to give the card almost a collage look. Very elegant! >From Eva Koyama, a really fun Thank You postcard done on white cardstock. The center says ARIGATO (stamped with a rainbow pad) and has cute kids popping out from a couple of the letters. I'm going to guess that this means Thank you but in what language? Then all around that are flowers and the words 'Thank You' stamped in fun colors. This is a real bright cheery card! Great job! >From Marci Williams (Stampalicious), a neat card using black cadrstock. Marci stamped a gumball machine filled it with M and M's (great choice!!!) and then glued it to the card. SHe also did the knob in 3D and has an M and M coming from the opening! Love it! No name but someone made a beautiful card on a gray and lavender flecked cardstock. The center has a nice verse and all around the edges are beautiful large pansies and leaves. I love the way you colored in only part of the pansies giving them more depth. A very pretty card! Kathy Nagaji made a unique card using gray cardstock. She layered on an angle some pretty navy and golden paper and then put a layer of gray and then white on top of that. Next is a very colorful embossed kimono stamp (attached with a pop dot) with a beautiful silver knot in the center. Kathy, I though you bought the knot like that and when I read you made it yourself, WOW. In fact, that's how I'd describe your whole card! Wow!
