These books are sensational. The first book is a lovely book on hand made paper, bound with a piece of wood, and decorated with pressed flowers. I showed this book to everyone at work and they want one! Who made this? Beautiful artistry. Lovely Book bound with a translucent mauve ribbon edged in gold, the front is decorated with a square of gold edged paper, layered with a deep mauve to match the ribbon then layered with a piece of handmade paper that has some special folds on it, then a mauve (thin) ribbon is tied with thin gold ribbon and a butterfly charm - Artist - Ming Off white corrugated voer layered with some copper foil? and a teal ribbon with an Owl holding a book - is this a stamp - it's lovely?!? It's then tied with brown string and has some great brown and cream beads hanging off - Artist - DJ Wallpaper book with a layered angel in tissue paper? - The beauty of the book is in the binding but I have no idea what it's called - Artist - Michelle Lim I looked all over the place for a signature on this book because it is sooooo clever - I definately am inspired to make several of these - let me see if I can do it some justice in my explanation. The cover is dark brown with the letters spelling S C R A P S - all colored wonderfully with the individual letters laminated and placed on the cover of the book. It is then bound with a wonderful ethnic type ribbon - reminds me of El Salvador type colors, on top of green corrugated paper. The inside of the book is made of small brown paper bags and then they're some wonderful scraps of papers in the brown paper bags - I love this idea - Artist - who are you? Thank you soooo much Shannon for hosting this swap - I have learned so much and after recently purchasing the book Cover to Cover hope to make some inspiring contributions in other swaps. Let's try this again.

You CANNOT get viruses from reading e-mail. If you've downloaded a

If this mail comes with an attachment, that could be a virus, so
don't run anything you're not sure of. However, if it is just an = e-mail,
you CANNOT get a virus from it!

'cept one time when aidan slept over at one of these kids houses one time, and I told the mother, he's got a game at 9.. we'll pick him up at 8:30, have him up and ready.. and we got there at 8:35 and she'd not even woke him up yet, much less seen that he was dressed and fed.. he was in tears! he hadda get up, get dressed, FIND his socks, finish dressing in the car and play the game with no breakfast.. but.. he learned a lesson that day.. when you got a 9:00 game and get invited to sleep over, you say I'm sorry, I'd really like to but I can't come that day because I have a 9:00 game the next mornin'! but I just don't get these kids that won't leave. if my kid ever pulled a stunt like that, would be the last time for a long time they went visiting.. anno This message was from "annette" - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. Firm, mature, and assuming, in a polite way that they WILL rectify the situation. I learned to do this from my Dad. Has served me well. I've gotten things from people/companies that they never intended to give/do simply because I asked for it. When I ask for donations for the group homes I work in I say something like "How much/many will you be able to donate at this time?" I don't ask for money...I only ask for discards, clearance items, discounts, seconds, etc. Sometimes these people have no idea that people like us can put things to good use. I recently got a ton (OK, a bag full) of cut yarn for residents who do latch hook. Some times the answer is NO, but I usually get something that we all really apprediate. Yesterday I acquired about 50# of clay from an elementary school that my daughter works at. The new shipmwnt of clay came in and the teacher was commenting on how much was left over fron last term. Helen did as she has seen me do many times and ended up with the clay, kids craft books, stencils for letters & numbers, discarded library books and a bunch of paint brushes. All worn, bur very usable!! I'm proud of her, I've taught her well. I can feel my Dad smiling. Love & Angel Blessings, InkyAngel (Dorothy Little) I believe there are Angels among us.... I am unsubbed from the rs list right now because I will be on a visit to Moostamp in NC for a few days, so I hadn't seen the original post. I'm glad you enjoyed my card. To answer your questions, the paper is Kashmir, a matte coated paper. The ink is very black because it is permanent ink. I love the stuff because it is so black and the images are crisp. The background is done with the letraset airbrush, then I sprayed the cards with Krylon gloss spray. Hope that answers your questions. I'm happy to know the Treasure Book packet got to you okay and that your pleased with the patterns & samples. Thank you for the burnt brown bag fish card you sent me! I had seen those tiny lure stamps at Ben Franklin, but didn't buy them... now I'm kicking myself! However, you used them to stamp repeatedly on the cardstock to make a coordinating theme for the BBB fish you layered on top and that inspired me to try something different for myself. I made cards for the "Life's Little Instruction Book" swap and (thanks to you!) I decided to use a shockingly bright pink cardstock for the background, one that I'd thought too bright to utilize very often. I used a Bumble Bee stamp and a deep pink ink to scatter the bee image over the pink cardstock. Then, I stamped my main image on white cardstock, loosely watercolored it and layered it onto the pink background... It worked!!! Simply stamping an image on that eye-grabbing color of pink cardstock, in a darker shade of the pink, made it recede and it really complimented the colors in the main design. Thanks for the idea! And thanks for taking the time to send the nice note. The Deep, Dark & Delicious is not to be **believed** ... really, this has to be seen to be appreciated. I had stamped on cardstock from the flea market for ages and couldn't see what the big deal was about dark cardstock ... well, if you haven't seen an assortment of Evo's papers, you haven't seen the *stuff* that makes stamping a joy *and* an art form. I continue to buy from this vendor, despite the fact that she thinks I'm a witch (ahem!) ... **only** because she has great prices, terrific service, wonderful talent for poetry and because she helped me park my broomstick in Pigeon Forge. xo Ant Judy This message was from hornbrkj@nbnet.nb.ca (hornbrkj) - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum.
