The contract further stated that if the person drinking was Barbara and she was under legal drinking age, and called us for a ride there would be absolutely no punishment whatsoever for the fact that she had been drinking! In fact it declared that she would get lots of hugs, kisses, & "I love yous" from both of us for being smart enough to call us! We still have the contract and will have it for as long as all of us are alive. We plan to do the same for our grandson, Tyler, when the time comes. I am here at her house with her children. She was admitted to the hospital today suffering a nervous breakdown. I wanted you all to know this, because she said you have helped her through her tough times. She talks of you like you are very caring people. Now, the reason I am writing to you is about this instruction packet that she is offering. She is having a very hard time with all of Danielle's medical needs, and I was hoping this could be a fundraiser for her. I am going to take over this project for her. It will be 30.00 as she stated. I have discussed this with a few local printers, and the best deal I got was .12.copy. At 200 sheets this is 24.00, but there are over 200, so the cost will be more, leaving her profit at about $5.00. So, to all of you that have emailed your interest I will post her address to send your donation. I will have these printed up and ready by next week if all goes right, so I will need your donation as soon as you can send it. I have 17 people on the list so far. Please find it in your hearts to help Lisa out. The packet is well worth the money also! Email me with your orders and I will confirm. Thank you all in advance! They're doing their annual "Back to School" call in thing. And all these sobbing Moms are calling in, who've just had thier last child leave for college. One mom even slept with her daughters old nightie she'd worn since age 12 last night. First they played this 5 hankie song by Susie Boggis (?) about a daughter leaving for school called "Letting Go".. Good heavens what a choker-upper. Even choked up Dads are calling in. The song keeps playing as background music. They're all calling up, telling their stories and sobbing. Judy's sobbing along with them and so am I of course. It would really be funny if it wasn't so heartbreaking. Time goes by *so* quickly. So all you Kindergarden Moms that are having a hard time, and all you First Grade Moms like me that are having a hard time, and all you Sending-the-last-one-off-to-College Moms that are having a particularly hard time, you are not alone. If this very popular radio show is any indication, this entire country is one big puddle today. The grief vibes are just rocketing from coast to coast. But there've also been survivor stories. Hi Stampers, I'm packing and just came across a software program for kids that I've had in the closet for 6 months. It's never been opened...still covered in plastic and I have the shipping invoice. Does anyone want to trade a fair amount of stamps (mounted or um) for this? It's called Ping and Kooky's Cuckoo Zoo. It's for ages 3-6 and it's from EAkids. (Electronic Arts) This is a very reputable company and they back their products 100%. The graphics are great and it's an educational game format. "All aboard! Join Ping and Kooky for an early-learning train ride through whe world's wackiest zoo. " "Mixed up animals: Kooky flies through the scene at the click of a mouse and mizes everything up. Children put the animals back together again, or create their own wacky creatures." "Music and Creativity: In the Cukoo Zoo Revue children create their own show with singing and dancing animals." "Counting: Children learn to count while fishing in the polar park." "Colors: A blue zebra? Children learn about colors with the animals on the savannah." Letters: Maggie Monkey - - a real swinger - teaches letter recognition in the rainforest." It comes in cd rom format and I don't have one. I didn't realize that I couldn't get it in 3.5" disk when I ordered. Then, they offered to refund my money and I thought we were going to buy a cd rom drive...well, we didn't. So now I have this great software, but can't use it. I Can use rubber stamps! Does anyone want to trade? Oh yeah, system requirements: "25 mhz 386 or faster, 256 color VGA, Hard drive (14 MB free space), MS DOS 3.3 or higher, sound card. recommended: MS DOS 5.0 mouse, sound blaster Supported: sound cards - Sound Blaster, Sound Blaster Pro, Pro Audio, Spectrum+ or 16, Speech Thing. Documentation is on disc (printer required to print on-disc manuals)/manuals also available from EA." Everyone in line was saying...here come the Flamingo's.....and they were ohhh'ing, and ahhh'ing. Well thinking that they were some famous women dressed in pink from head to toe, I got out of line to trade pins with them. Two of them traded, the third one looked in my pin box, and after standing in front of her, asking three times to trade, she totally ignored me, I felt like a jerk, and said, "I guess she doesn't want to trade?" Well, thank goodness for the other REAL pin goer's who were happy to trade pins. I don't know who those Flamingo's were....but one of them is mightly stuffy!!!!! I went with Cathy Schadler (stampin'@midnite) and we were later joined by that wonderful vendor, Ruthann (Punxsutawney)Gigliotti. I met some of the nicest people there! I swear, it must be in the water! The vendors were super, the hotel (Marriott), the restaurants, etc. It seems like everyone went out of their way to be nice. Almost everyone...I'll get to that later. The convention itself was super...we learned so much from the displays. We had also taken many of the classes at the hotel....Dee was great and her husband just adores her. You could see this big smile on his face whenever he was watching her,by the way, Warren you have a sexy smile...made you feel good to see such a nice couple. Suze was so warm and funny and didn't mind relating that she was a slop!! I can understand that! I think the vendor that I most connected with though, was Mary O'Neal(sp) from Hot Potatoes. She gave a demo on stamping on velvet at Stamp Your Art Out on Sunday morning. She,too was warm and down to earth but I really connected with her because she told us how she got in trouble at the convention hall. Seems that Mary likes to leave her trademark everywhere and is known to stamp places she shouldn't. Like, convention walls!!!! I really cracked up when she told us that because I have been known to get in trouble for the same thing!! I felt that the convention center should be honored that they have a piece of permanent art from Mary. We spent way too much, ate too much and had a wonderful time. After the convention we went to the Bombay Bicycle Club and we finally got to meet Giggles and others on the list. June, don't forget my brochure...and Flo, it was so nice putting a face with a name. Okay, only two more things to relate..one is good news and one is a little bit of bitching. Okay, the good news first, after all these years of writing back and forth via e-mail and snail mail..we came to a startling discovery!!! I found out that Ruthann is actually my MOTHER!!! Seems she gave me up for adoption when I was only 6 days old (so she could have stamping money,I guess, but I forgive her) and we just realized it at the show when we were standing in line trading pins!!!!! Who could ask for a nicer mother plus, she MIGHT give me a discount on stamping stuff!!!! Now for the bitching.......if you don't want to read this....please don't...but I HAVE to vent. I have this WONDERFUL friend, named Cathy that went to the show with me. Now, Cathy is normally shy and quiet and it seems that stamping is really giving her something to look forward to since her father passed away last year. This is her second convention and she was looking forward to it like a kid at Christmas. Her pins were really pretty, suns, moons or angels (many of you might remember her. Well, she was having a wonderful time trading pins and she amazed me because I am normally outgoing and talkative but Cathy just put me to shame and was running up and down the line, trading with everyone, giving pins away even if you didn't have one. It was just the spirit of it. Well, there were these three ladies dressed in flamingo hats, anybody know them? Cathy went up to the tall one and asked her if she was trading pins. The lady didn't answer. Cathy asked again twice and the lady looked down at Cathy's pins and just gave her a look like Cathy's pins weren't good enough. Cathy told me she couldn't even trade anymore pins after that because she felt so bad. All I can say, is where is your heart, whoever you are? That was a mean thing to do. These are pins, for goodness sake, not Tiffany jewelry!!! Each of us does what we can and the meer act of sharing is what the darn pins are all about. Not who makes the best ones! Maybe next time, that lady should just enter a contest and see how GREAT her pins are!!! That's it..oh yeah, to the women that wanted a "penis pin" from me,you can e-mail me and I'll get a few out. I didn't realize that you couldn't buy a penis stamp in Ohio and had directed everyone to VLVS stand where Giggles told me they couldn't sell that stuff.I have a few left. Thanks for all who made it a wonderful time. Rosemarie G This message was from stamper@sprynet.com - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum.
