Well I was just thinking to myself that my SS had forgtten aboutme, and then I get this package to day. It was a real big box. Inside it was another big box wrapped in Xmas paper. (I had put on my questionairre that I can do Xmas anytime of the year!). I really had no clue what this present could be. It was too big for a crimper or light box. It didn't rattle when shaken, so I knew it wasn't smaller gifts inside. I was stumped. Anyway, I first opened the card. It was a real nice Xmas card. The note inside said that my secret sender had just about used all of her SS budget for this one gift. So now I am thinking...what could this be??? Any guesses out there. It is such a nice gift. My secret sender said she would send an "idea" a month since she has used up most of her SS budget on this one present, which is fine with me. I love homemade stuff and learning new techniques, seeing cards........ I am also going to get a little surprise on my Bday. But the ultimate gift for this whole SS round is this one present. This is a fantastic present, and what I really wanted, but could never bring myself to spend the money for. In fact I was going to put it on my Xmas list for my hubby to get me this year, now I can put other stamping stuff. So anyone have any guesses for what this absolutely fantastic present that I got is??????????? Anyone??? I'll post what I got tomorrow morning just to keep you all in anticipation. I'll say this....being of the Green persuasion, I found the original post to be entertaining, as it was meant to be. I really and truly thought the subsequent post was a joke and I laughed at it. I guess I'm one of those who has read the ant and the grasshopper fable and failed to recognize it as racist. I just thought the grasshopper was stupid and I thought the moral of the story was "don't be stupid and lazy", not "hate all green creatures". Maybe all the stupid and lazy people out there are getting all bent out of shape, I dunno. (Take a lighten up pill before you flame me for that!) I really hope I never get to the point where something with such innocent intentions would get my panties in a wad. I'll start a crusade for those of us with wadless panties who can laugh and find humor where it was intended to be. When it was all said and done, I have 8 packages of different confetti - Warner Bros characters, smiley faces, Christmas Designs, Tulips, Birthday Cakes, Frogs, I Love You's and Stamps. I had 18 different postage stamps with different denominations, three postage paid postcards to decorate, a piece of pretty red and gold ribbon, three unms - butterfly, smart women and a triangle design, a stamped bear to color in, three pieces of shiny paper, 7 pieces of corrugated paper, 7 pieces of wallpaper, 10 small pieces of specialty papers - all different, two sticker sheets-gardening and baby themed, some velum A-5 envelopes, some letter sized envelopes, and an assortment of 8-1/2 x 11 pieces of primary colored cardstock. Taped on the inside cover - 3 miniature copper bowls. How nice of you to send something for "my other life." I don't have anything like them. Thank you. And then a list of Angelhrt's (such a dear) files and her email addy. (I checked to see if you had by chance left yours in the header ) Many, many dividers with colored plastic tabs and inserts tucked neatly in the front. After the dividers: toploading protector sheets. At the scrapbooking class I recently attended I learned how important these were. And you were very generous. Thank you. Now the next little bit puzzles me - it looks like gold twist ties. I'm not sure what they were intended for but they work very nicely as closures for the tiny books I learned how to make at the last club meeting. Next page - a plastic heart like the ones used in needlepoint. I had to try it for a background. It worked! And a Stamper A Day stamp. This is so odd. No, not the stamp. But I can't find mine. I've looked and looked and wonder if a sneaky pup made off with it. (I don't know why they like the taste of rubber.) Thank you. I've told Linda's story so many times. Yes, we had cameras. But all the photos are in black and white and I found the articles on that subject very helpful. It's been a year since my Dad died and I'm gathering pictures from Mom. She has boxes and boxes. I've started with when they met. He was in the Army and they were married about a year before he was sent to France in WWII. That's what these first proctector pages will be used for. Thanks. Banana paper from Costa Rica!!! I'm so glad you labeled it because I would not have recognized it. I'll use the paper and envelopes to send letters to special people who will appreciate them - stamped, of course. I have a pen-friend who collects gorillas. You can see where I'm going with this. LOL The last thing just blew me away! I've only read the latest issue of Rubberstamper *once* and noticed the dogs from Hi-Tech RS. I looked them up and they were in Canada and wondered if the money for the catalog was US dollars or Canadian. And you send the catalog! How did you know! I couldn't believe my eyes. So many dogs. And breeds from the Canadian Kennel Club that aren't recognized in the States - American Kennel Club. I think some of the mini ones would be perfect for postoids - haven't perfected making those, yet. And the others are just plain perfect! I still laugh every time I think about ordering that catalog and having it show up on my doorstep! Thank you for all the lovely gifts. A: What, what? `````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` ``` A man who smelled like a distillery flopped on a subway seat next to a priest. The man's shirt was stained, his face was covered with red lipstick, and a half empty bottle of booze was sticking out of his torn coat pocket. He opened his newspaper and began reading. After a few minutes the disheveled guy turned to the priest and asked, "Say, Father, what causes arthritis?" "Mister, it's caused by loose living, being with cheap, wicked women, too much alcohol and a contempt for your fellow man." "Well, I'll be damned," the drunk muttered, returning to his paper. The priest, thinking about what he had said, nudged the man and apologized. "I'm very sorry. I didn't mean to come on so strong. How long have you had arthritis?" "I don't have it, Father. I was just reading here that the Pope does." `````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` ```````````````````````````````````````````` Comparison of Religious Theory in the Late 20th Century Capitalism - He who dies with the most toys, wins. She asked him, "how much time do I have to live?" He said, "you have 35 years left." So that whole year she had a ton of cosmetic surgery, she had a face lift, a tummy tuck, her nose reshaped, liposuction, she completely did herself over. She figured as long as she was going to live another 35 years she was going to look young again. After all this was done, that same year she was hit by a car and was killed instantly. When she entered St. Peter's gate she walked over to God and said, "What happened? I thought you said I had another 35 years!" God replied, "I DIDN'T RECOGNIZE YOU!" `````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` ```````````````````````````````````````````` This message was from Stmprcat@aol.com - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. Point your web browser at http://crafts.dm.net/ . Jody, I am glad you liked my card, for the coins I used the metal rings that are used for wedding ring favors, I then used a piece of sticker paper and covered them, then added alot of glue to glue them down secure and covered them with the gold glitter. I thought they made neat coins...Linda This message was from Linda Strawn - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum.
