This is the most dangerous E-mail virus yet. It will re-write your hard drive. Not only that, but it will scramble any disks that are even close to your computer. It will recalibrate your refrigerator's coolness setting so all your ice cream melts and your milk curdles. It will demagnetize the strips on all your credit cards, reprogram your ATM access code, screw up the tracking on your VCR and use subspace field harmonics to scratch any CDs you try to play. It will give your ex-boy/girlfriend your new phone number. It will mix antifreeze into your fish tank. It will drink all your beer and leave its dirty socks on the coffee table when there's company coming over. It will hide your car keys when you are late for work and interfere with your car radio so that you hear only static while stuck in traffic. Badtimes will make you fall in love with a litterer. It will give you nightmares about circus midgets. It will replace your shampoo with Nair and your Nair with Rogaine, all while dating your current husband/wife behind your back and billing their hotel rendezvous to your Visa card. It will seduce your grandmother. It does not matter if she is dead, such is the power of Badtimes. It reaches out beyond the grave to sully those things we hold most dear. Badtimes will give you Dutch Elm disease. It will leave the toilet seat up and leave the hairdryer plugged in dangerously close to a full bathtub. It will not only remove the forbidden tags from your mattresses and pillows, it will refill your skim milk with whole. It will make you dress funny (in some cases, funnier), smell like elderberries, and turn your mother into a hamster! It is insidious and subtle. It is dangerous and terrifying to behold. It is also a rather interesting shade of mauve. These are just a few signs. Be afraid. Be very, very afraid. My mom has been in the blood, organ, & tissue "business" for over 20 years so I've heard first hand many times of how blood donations are needed- it's one thing that when a hospital runs out, they can't just get more from a store! There's also more to it than just A, O, B, & AB -some people have very rare antibodies & it takes a close match, especially for organ/tissue donation. In some states, like Georga when you get your driver's license and have "organ donor" put on it takes no extra time & you save $7. Like the bumper sticker says... "Don't take your organs to Heaven, Heaven knows we need them here!" Getting off box now.... They had been in good health the last ten years mainly due to her interest in health food, and exercise. When they reached the pearly gates, St. Peter took them to their mansion which was decked out with a beautiful kitchen and master bath suite and Jacuzzi. As they "oohed and aahed" the old man asked Peter how much all this was going to cost. "It's free," Peter replied, "this is Heaven." Next they went out back to survey the championship golf course that the home backed up to. They would have golfing privileges everyday and each week the course changed to a new one representing the great golf courses on earth. The old man asked, "what are the green fees?". Peter's reply, "This is heaven, you play for free." Next they went to the club house and saw the lavish buffet lunch with the cuisines of the world laid out. "How much to eat?" asked the old man. "Don't you understand yet? This is heaven, it is free!" Peter replied with some exasperation. "Well, where are the low fat and low cholesterol tables?" the old man asked timidly. Peter lectured, "That's the best part...you can eat as much as you like of whatever you like and you never get fat and you never get sick. This is Heaven." With that the old man went into a fit of anger, throwing down his hat and stomping on it, and shrieking wildly. Peter and his wife both tried to calm him down, asking him what was wrong. The old man looked at his wife and said, "This is all your fault. If it weren't for your blasted bran muffins, I could have been here ten years ago!" I have been wanting to do this for some time now, but it got away from me. What I want to do is set up a list of people who would be willing to send cards, RAK's, etc. to those who are not receiving things in the SSS swap. I spoke to MOM Janet about this a long time ago, since she also sets up SSS 'angel' packages for those who are not receiving anything. (In fact, I was the lucky recipient of one of these in the last round) Anyway, this would not be sending packages, just cards to cheer these people up - the most $ involved, other than your time, would be a 32 cent stamp. What I am asking for is volunteers - please email me if interested. Could also use a few 'watchdogs' to help me become aware of the people who are waiting.... Email me if interested, please! Yesterday I got my first RAK. What a wonderful surprize! It was a beautiful card. Is this the Joseph's Coat I've heard so much about? She stamped a seashel in rainbow colors against a black background. It was so kind and thoughtful. I need to now send some people cards so they can feel they same way I did!! Thank you again! Janet Jasper stamped a row of sun postoids on red card stock, cut them with deckel scissors, a corrugated them and layered them on the bottom edge of purple cardstock. Then she stamped the same postoid on yellow card stock, and layered it over a gold corrugated foil square and a tan corrugated rectangle and put that slightly off center on the purple. This card is so cool. She also sent a pin stamped on shrink plastic made the same way as the center design of the card. Liz Whittaker did an elegant card on burgandy cardstock. There is a very fine line of a gold border all around the edge. In the center is the most darling, detailed stamp of two babies' faces, its stamped with a rainbow stamp pad and attached to the card with photo corners. It's just beautiful. Janet Delwiche (our wonderful hostess) sent a lovely cherub card. The cherub is stamped on white cardstock and embossed - very impressive as this is a very detailed stamp. Then its colored in beautiful soft colors. Janet trimmed the edges with deckle edge scissors and mounted it on a dusty rose card stock. Thanks so much Janet - these cards have made it a great non-birthday month.
