First I want to say THANK YOU for the help in locating the lists of free rubber stamp catalogs on the Web. These two EXCELLENT sites list many free catalogs. I may compile a list of my own in the future. Check these out: http://vader.castles.com/cleonard/christy.html http://www.littlebit.com/catalog.html A big THANKS to Brenda for the GREAT assortment of stickers she sent in exchange for the used rubber stamps. Also wanted to let everyone know the used stamps you ordered from me are all going out in the mail THURSDAY (tomorrow) or FRIDAY at the latest. I have been unable to get to the P.O. because I am always at work when they're open and am enlisting my mom's help. Finally, I have received THREE packets of business cards for the swap. I will soon send a list of whose I have received and who has not yet sent them. You have through October 31, so no rush. I am hosting the BUSINESS CARD SWAP and SCRAPBOOK PAPER SWAP so if you need info on either of these, please let me know. :) Denise This message was from "Denise Breimeir" - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. Ive never used the shrink plastic before. I had some in my stamping station but hadn't used it yet. So I went down and got out all my supplies. i tried using the Fabrico but found that it wouldn't dry, just like you. I then phoned my friends at the local stamp store and they suggested heating it. So I got out my heat gun and heated the stamped image. If you hold the gun about 6 inches away from the plastic it will dry the ink but not shrink the plastic! VOILA! It worked great. I then colored the image in with pencils, I found that the watercolor pencils worked the best. Then I stuck the plastic in the oven and shrunk it! It was great!!!!! I got so excited about it I made little pins for the entrants in my Disney swap! What fun!!!!!! When I had surgery last month there was not enough time for me to donate blood for myself before the surgery so we had to rely on the blood bank. They were worried that they would not have enough of my blood group (my blood group is rare and I have antibodies that make it very touch and go when they have to tranfuse) in Kamloops and made arrangements with the Red Cross Blood Bank in Vancouver to cover me during surgery (because of the seriousness of my Lupus, they have to keep my blood in a state of "no-clotting" at all times. This basically means I am like a hemopheliac). Please, please if you are healthy, take the time and donate blood. You will be saving someone's life. The blood situation in BC is pretty dismal and they are always on alert asking for donors. It's a small poke and thats it! And you even get juice and a cookie when your done!!!!!! I am especially pleased with one that was done with the large Roses stamp from Stampendous. I stamped it on sanded canvas white Polyshrink with Ranger permanent ink. I then colored it with Le Plumes, cut it out around the whole image and punched two holes at the bottom edge. After shrinking it, I sprayed it Matte Finish and attached two tiny garden tool miniatures to it and attached a pinback to it. It lookes really great if a little small. I'm going to do earrings to match now. I like the Ranger perm. ink because it does not come off on my Le Plumes. I like coloring with them in the lighter shades. For bold stamps I've been using Fabrico and Crafter's Pigment Ink. The shrinking process sets the colors and they don't come off. But I need to stamp larger images. So now I want to do larger scenes and composits to make a piece quite large and then shrink it. I have also used the Marvy Metallic Permanent markers to color edges and backs of shrunk pieces and cut out preshrunk pieces with decorative edge scissors. I have also done up several images and then mounted them in layers with foam mounting tape to get a 3D effect. On one floral piece I did up a dragonfly with Fabrico ink, cut it out, shrunk it and then put glue on the wings with a glue pen and used glitter on it. Then I stuck this tiny glittery dragonfly on the edge of the flower piece. It gets a lot of compliments. Ann B. I stamped my image on plain white paper and now (well not right now) I'm tracing it on my plastic with a sharpie perm. marker !! It's not a very intricate design so it should work ok.... - ------------------------ WarmHugs Your Friend Angelhrt/Tyra ******************************************************** Some of God's greatest gifts...... Oh, wow, gee, gosh golly...my SSS is just the bestest! Sorry that all of the rest of you don';t have my wonderful SSS, but, know what? I won't trade!!! In fact...I don't want December to come...... Got a call from my friend who recieves the packages for me that there was a package at her house.....so I zipped over as soon as I could (having NO car until the part arrives and mine can be repaired..) and found a wonderful box waiting ! In fact the box is so cool that I will save it and recycle it for someone else!. Now I know something about my SSS...she owns stock in the 3M company....it takes forever to get the tape undone on these packages! No nosy PO worker is gonna get into these!! After struggling with the tape and finally getting it open, I was absolutely blown away...it was packed with goodies! Literally bulging!! First, a lovely letter, written on the niftiest paper..that thermo stuff that changes color when you touch it? Wow! Then, artwork! The most wonderful wolf card !!! This is a fantastic stamp and then he is done in pencils and his eyes are embossed wirth blue sparkle ...he looks almost alive! She says this should tell me who she is....hmmmm....I haven't been on this list long enough to know everyone's specialties....but maybe it is someone who is on Wolfenet???? I have seen a bunch of folks with email addies on that group.... (sorry, SSS, I am not Sherlock Holmes...) He is gorgeous!! Love the stamp! And then a second card, with an acetate window on the front...and a big comfy cahair cut out and sitting by it. There is a fine gold thread attached to a heart on the front and it goes thru the window (which has a curtain made of tissue crinkle) and inside the little gold thread is artistically wound and fastened with tiny colored beads threaded onn it, and there are two little girls sitting next to each other and the saying "Friendship is the golden thread that ties all hearts together." So cleverly done! I love it! Now, I would have been delighted with the letter and cards, but SSS didn't stop there...oh no, she has been shopping!!! More packages...a metal ruler with cork underneath..I really needed this..being one who can't draw a straight line, and having broken a bunch of plastic rulers and having been shown how cool the cork/metal ones are at a recent stamp shop demo...thanks!! And a big thick file folder full of tips and instructions from Angelheart's website...my SSS is thoughtful (I have not got internet access)...can't wait to try these things! Then Crayola "Overwriters" (too fun...gotta hide those from my kids... ) and Crayola "Jumping Colors" for some 3-D fun! (Gee, maybe in the next "naughty swap" I will have some intersting things jump out???). Next, a STAMPSCAPES stamp...the mountains! I had been wishing for a mountain stamp, and this is too wonderful...so detailed and lovely, I just can;'t wait to play!!! I can't wait to do sunsets and sunrises over this mountain!! Next, a book of Precious Moments Daily Blessings, full of great quotations..(hmmm, SSS, maybe you are Maggie who does all the quotes???) Next a package of Fiskars paintbrushes ...these will be great for chalks and stippling and colorwashes! Next , a package of erasable markers...I have never seen erasable markers!! (How very handy to be able to correct all my goofs!! And next, a wallpaper envy with UM's...a beautiful circle with doves, and one of Jesus with the holy spirit (dove)descending...lovely...and I have a perfect occasion coming for this to be used for! (As soon as the Halos tape I ordered arrives!) Now wouldn't you think this was a big enough box of goodies?? But noooo...still more! As I said, my SSS is truly awesome! Nextwas a box of Pastello chalks...last month she sent a chalk pallette and I have been playingwith that, and wondering about if any other colors were made...and lookey, lookey! Here ia an assortment of deeper colors and more of the wonderful earthy tones for scenic work..WOWZA! And then a box ofSketcho oil pastel crayons...oh, my, I am realy feeling overwhelmed now....and then, a box of Prismacolor pencils! I am well and truly spoiled, and it will be a miracle if I ever do housework again with all my new toys to play with!!!! It is just like Christmas!!! What a wonderful SSS!!! And, just in case nourishment was needed, she tucked in a tin of French Vanilla coffee and filled up the bottom with coffee nip candy and Hershey Tastations! I think I may have died and gone to heaven????? (My friend and her kids were watching me open the box...no, I could not wait til I got home...and they were amazed and awestruck, too! Dear SSS, thank you so very much....you mentioned that things are pretty wild at your home...and you still found time to do all this!!! You are amazing, but please , take it easy....and take care of YOU!!! I couldn't thank you enough for all this wonderful stuff...Bless your furry little heart!!! You are tooo wonderful... Sending you hugs and many, many thanks! Ann-onymous This message was from a.larue@juno.com - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum.
