I love the ideas. Thanks for all the instructions, now I can make great boxes too. Here is who I got boxes from. Suzanne Reynolds sent a Pyramid Gift box. It was blue with snowflakes and a To From stamped on it. Loved this box. Nan Robkin sent a great box decorated with a Rollographs with Postoids. I love this Rollograph. I have a holder and would love to get this stamp. Erica Sullivan send a small white cube box with lips on all sides. Great idea. Unknown. White cube box with dry embossed bunnies and carrots. Splattered with pink and purple. Really cute. Lots of hard work but no name. Sandra Luck send a box that has a top and bottom. By the way you fold and cut the paper it becomes a really great box for small items. I'm guessing that if you practice you could make bigger boxes with this idea. I believe Kim sent a white rectangle box for my stamping pleasure. Thanks so much for hosting this swap. Great ideas. The only color that you might have a bit of trouble with is yellow, and in that case I think a cream ,ivory or off white pencil over the yellow should do the trick. Linda... sorry, I don't think you have a thing to apologize > for. > > Ellen :}> Evo > . Bravo Evo! My mother had a lung removed due to cancer a year and a half ago. We hadn't expected the surgeon to remove the whole lung, just a lobe, therefore it was a bit (bit????) of a shock to us. Upon waking from anesthesia, my mother asked my father why the whole lung was taken. After hearing the explanation, groggy as she was, she asked him, "how do you think you'll like sleeping with a one-lunged-lover?" 2 days after surgery, a nurse in ICU came to do her thing, and said to my mother, "I have to listen to your lungs." My mother said, "I'll do you a favor and cut your job in half." My dad made her a surprise party after she finished her radiation treatments - how many times in planning did we joke about what kind of cake we'd make: a lung cake, with red icing (sorry, you queasy ones out there...)...when she came home from the hospital, we made her a banner on the computer, and my nephew wanted to write "welcome home lung lady"... My nephew, 13, was bar-mitzvahed this year. A friend of my mom's broke her leg about a month later. When writing the thank-you note, my nephew wrote, "Dear Eunice, I'm glad you were able to dance at my bar mitzvah. Because if you'd broken your leg before the bar mitzvah, you'd have been a one-legged lady dancing with a one-lung lady!" My family, warped as we may be, always find something to laugh about. Let me leave you with a saying I plan to put on a card for my brother-in-law, who will probably be going through with a vasectomy: "You were equipped...but now you're snipped!" See? Humor is the answer! I agree with you, Evo, and I adore your sense of humor - perhaps because I see the same in myself and the people I love. This week the first grader needs a dinosaur scene. He wants one complete with palm trees and a volcano! Does anyone have any cool ideas for volcanoes? I thought about using dry ice to make the volcano "smoke," but that is kind of a hassle (and expense) since this is somewhat of a "minor" project. I seem to remember something about mixing baking soda and vinegar. Would that work or will I blow up my kitchen? Also, has anyone heard about a volcano cake that is edible? I have just ordered a Marvy heatgun. It's unbelievable expensive (since it has to be imported from the USA) US$40.00. But hey, I had some loose change in my pocket, so I thought I'd spend it (HA!). I was so tired of burning my hands on the iron, and searching for it when I occasionally want to use it on my clothes. I ordered it from a Dutch company, which has it's own stamps too. Turned out that they have a club, with a newsletter 6 times a year, and when you become a member you get 25% off when you order stamps and 15% off when you order ink pads and markers and stuff AND heatguns. So I've subscribed and immedialety got the 15% off for the heatgun. Not only that, but I'll also get a stamp with "Stamped by Ria Vaneman" on it (in Dutch). I also ordered the catalog. She told me she would send it all out (except for the stamp ofcourse) today, soooo, with a bit of luck I will have it TOMORROW, Yeah!!! Oh, the company is also on the internet. I didn't know that, so I'm going to look tonight (cheaper phone rate). If you want to take a look, this is the URL: http://www.verhees.nl Still not having spent all my loose change I went out and bought 2 PSX stamps, a little teapot, with cup and rose, and a border with Autumn leaves blowing in the wind. Both very beautiful. I simply love those PSX stamps. Wish they were a little less expensive. In case you're wondering, I'm broke now :-)!!! I teach music to children, I learn them to read music and to play the recorder. This is done as an extra at the school where my kids go to. The kids have to pay me $1.25 per lesson. I now have 25 kids that I teach every week. So that's where I get the extra money from, which I immedialety spend on stamping stuff. Lessons have just started again after the summer holidays, so I'm feeling extra rich!!! If it is correct, she has more rubber stamping on today. It looks like she has instructions on how to make your own stamps and a stamp from Limited Edition. We're on vacation here in So. CA. We went to the beach the other day and my oldest daughter got sunburned really bad on the top part of the back of her legs. She missed getting the sunblock in that area. Anyway, now she has some huge blisters that are so bad she has a hard time sitting down. They are yellow in color. One is raised 1/2 - - 3/4 of an inch. What is the best way to treat these? Tupperstamper This message was from KurtFlora@aol.com - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. Yes, my little biz is going very well. I got a call from Kaye Mills aka Ye Old Cardmaker. She called yesterday and we talked probably about 15 minutes. She had tried to send me an order, but forgot to put the "L" in my addy, so unfortunately, it never made it to me. We had a nice visit, too. So, do you know how Giggles is doing? Kaye told me about the posts to Giggles trying to cheer her up. I hope she's okay. To tell the truth, it didn't go well at all. I still have my little ones, but they want my other son to take a polygraph and SFC threatened to take him away if it wasn't done. They lied to us again by saying this meeting was to discuss visitation. It was discussed for about 5 seconds!! What a crock!!! They want me to trust them and it's very hard when you are continually deceived by them. But, I know God is with us and everyone there realizes we are a very strong family. We will and can endure it! Thanks for writing! I am trying to get the gift tags out today, but it may be Monday. I included an extra one for everyone. :) Got to go now and get busy. My MIL and BIL and his wife are coming this weekend and I have to clean house, besides all biz and swaps! Have a great day and God bless you! HUGS!!!
