I just cant figure that part out. When we received condolance cards one phrase was on several different cards" My your memories comfort you in your time of need". I see stamps with the "If flowers were friends I'd pick you" and see that on cards etc. I thought that if you used a copyrighted poem or blessing etc that could lead to problems but a "Thank you for being a friend". For those of you that this has happened, I wish it hadn't. On the other hand, I feel grateful that those of you who posted experiencing difficulties, "shared" your experiences with list members, especially, new list members, like me... List members can then decide from the information given about ordering from a particular vendor or not. I just want to thank those of you, in your concern for others, telling your experiences...and I thank you. From information I have received from various list members, I have purchased (more than I should have! :D) from many vendors in a short time and have not had a problem...I believe most vendors are honest, hard working, and provide great service. I do not see a problem with asking list members about a particular vendor because this can work in a positive way for the vendor as well...like when I asked about a vendor, and received many positive comments posted to the list. So this works in both cases... I think I said before, I will go on the presumption that what I order I will receive, if not, I will deal directly with the vendor, if that does not resolve the problem, I have no difficulty posting my experience to the list (positive as well!), and everyone can decide whether or not they wish to order... She spent a good 20 minutes on the phone going over each item I'd been telling her, very poorly, that I wanted. I didn't know what anything was called or how it was used and she explained everything very patiently. Also, her son is perfect. Please remember - if you are interested - to email me privately.....I do not want to miss anyone!!!!! ***** LAST CALL FOR XMAS WISH LIST EXCHANGE ***** The deadline for names and wish list items will be 15th October. That allows me to distribute names and items out by the end of October. You will have all of November to purchase one of the items from the list and then early December to post the item so that you xmas buddy will receive it by Christmas. This group is not just open for stitchers - but for all crafters alike. That should make it a little interesting for when you go shopping!!! Some people have asked could they be on the list more than once - that is not a problem- just as long as you give me two (or more) wish lists!!!!!!!! If you are interested, please fill in the questionaire below and send me you details (privately) and I shall add you to the list. ********** xmas@hbpp.demon.co.uk ********** The Xmas Wish List Exchange is an exchange which is a once off. Basically, at Christmas you choose a wish from the wish list and buy it and send it to your allocated Christmas Buddy. At the end of October, early November I will send you all the details I have for your Xmas Buddy. From their Wish List you will choose ONE Item and purchase it for your buddy. Early December you will send this present to your buddy. In the meantime, some one different will be your Xmas Buddy, will also do the same. "How much do I need to spend?" I know that this is a thought everyone would have. I would prefer that the Wish List Items were not too expensive, (not everyone has loads of money and Christmas is always a tight time for everyone). Some ideas could be a pattern, threads, speciality threads, beads, ribbons - or that favourite chart you have always wanted. Other crafty ideas would be stamps, ink, paper, wool, tools - whatever your craft calls for. Try to keep the items light (for postage) ****This is nothing like the Secret Pals group - you WILL know WHO your buddy is when you receive your package, so you can thank them etc.**** To be included in this exchange I will need the following information from yourself: Name Address Email Address 3 Wish List Items Would you be willing to send internationally YES/NO Please delete one If you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. I ordered Deb Braun's organza ribbon package (2 yards of every color) and got the package today. WOW! If the sale is still going on, I definitely recommend this ribbon. The colors are beautiful. Rich: burgundy red, forest green, antique gold (which looks like a cross between spun gold and taupe, very pretty), seafoam green, and ivory. The dollar amount came out a little off so I told Deb to "surprise me." She sent me a big ol' long bunch of some satin looking cording. It matches the burgundy ribbon!!! As an extra, Deb put the cutest Halloween confetti in the box. It scared me! It must have been the ghosts. Thanks, Deb, for quick service (sorry about the delay on my end) and the fun extras. My cards are looking up! Cheers!!! Christine This message was from "Christine L. Cox" - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. My friend in England is getting married in March..she wants to do her own invites, but the cost for her to get a custom stamp over there is outrageous. She wants something about 2 inches by 2 inches..this will probably just be a name stamp...with the name of her and her man. She is supposed to send me a font that she wants used on them. If any of you do this type of thing, could you contact me and give me an idea of what a stamp that size may run?? Hey...I just realized that she is on the list now..DUH..I forgot..If you are reading this, "HI DEBS!!!"
