I received my first card from this swap from Lorna Hudson! It's a really cute angel card - the angel was stamped on white cardstock and colored with pencils. She then cut around the image with deckled scissors, and pasted it on a light blue cardstock covered with white flowers (roses?). She used the same deckle scissors to cut around the blue cardstock, and then pasted that on a tan card. The card is so adorable - THANKS LORNA!! :) P.S. I loved the envelope too - it was actually multicolored green paper (different shades of green, like forest green, olive, etc., in an abstract design) that she folded into an envelope! Really neat! I MUST BRAG ABOUT HER....... She had everything wrapped so neatly, and I just tore it open. Tissue paper was not ripped and will be reused. 1 .Everything was color coordinated in the wine/blue/green mode. Wine (burgundy) just happens to be one of my favorite colors, of course along with the purples and black. 2. 1 received a spool o' wine ribbon wrapped in blue tissue sealed with a mermaid sticker. 3. She outdid herself with a Kaleidacolor dye ink pad, wrapped in purple paper that was rolled with a rollergraph in blue. 4. 1 received an envelope with embossed "cranes" in both silver and gold. I had admired the beautiful card and commented on the "herons". Hey, I don't know my birds, I just know I liked them..... 5 .A peach card with blue "webbing" wrapped with vellum and a Joseph's coat cutout of horses on a black background. I think that is absolutely wonderful. You are 'just so talented. 6. She made a blue portfolio for me because I admired the one she made for me last month, AND sent the directions, saying "Simple but useful ideas". There is nothing simple in my package. This is the work of an artist. Inside were two cards of a stamp that was sent. The techniques are so different looking. One is watercolors, the other was done with Prismacolor pencils. I will definitely copy your example. This is simply stunning. 7. 1 haven't even gotten to the envelope full of stickers, some sticky and some I have to licky. You have such great stamps. 8. speaking of great stamps. The beautiful fruit stamp that was used for two different cards, was sent to me. It contains an apple, pear, grapes, blueberries, another bunch of something (maybe.- raisins) and a strawberry. Classic fruit is the name by Stampendous. I just love it. This was wrapped in tissue that was done with a rollagraph and wrapped with raffia. 9. Wrapped in a cloth "apple" ribbon with green wire edging is a dozen note cards, 4 green, 4 navy, 4 burgundy. Yeah!! 10. Then wrapped in another note is glossy cardstock, one done in Joseph's coat with instructions. I've tried this before, but I'm embarrassed to say, mine is so ugly compared to this. I'm definitely going to try her technique. This was also wrapped with brown checked paper twist and another package was wrapped with brown twist and contained 14 different colored mini glue sticks for me to try the faux sealing wax technique. Hope I don't bum my fingers. 11. I also received lots of mulberry paper and some hand made paper, in of course wine and blue fruit theme. Handmade paper looked like flower leaves was in it. This will definitely be used. 12. and last was a handmade envelope done on a fruit pattern. This looks like the freezer wrap technique. Inside was a beautiful card on wine cardstock layered in off white mulberry stamped with 3 strawberries, 2 in red and one in gold and that is on another layer of green mulberry. So pretty. This note card is tied with wine raffia with a off white insert "wishing you the berry best day ever". There,- is also a cute little green package with the UM stamps of the berry and the saying. This was enclosed with a white sticker embossed in gold that has a Mardi Gras mask and says "from your secret pal". Too cute 13. 1 sincerely hope I have not forgotten anything. SS you really are outdoing yourself. You apologized for being late. If this is what I will be receiving for you being late, keep on being late. I received my ss pkg last week and wanted to post to you all. Thank you ss for being so wonderful and for picking up the things that I needed most specified both on my questionnaire and on my wishlist - you're GGRRREEEEAT! Here's what I received..2 booklets of wonderful stamping patterns - Stamping through the Seasons and a second one (sorry, can't remember the name at the moment)-both from Jayhawk Stamp Co. I can see i'm going to have fun with these! Also, a new look - hmmm...wish i hadn't lost all of those wonderful swap descriptions i'd been saving..wasn't there a swap for tribal swap ? a zebra image layered on animal skin patterned issue paper. cool. Then, more techniques to try along with samples, shrink plastic - thanks for the sheets - i love the white plastic - it's really neat stuff. also, doilies, cool paper and raffia - love the black especially - it'll be great for my book-making. I thought it was especially neat the packaging that you used - the plastic envelope. Unfortunately, my mailperson shoved it in our box so hard one end burst. I don't think anything was missing but perhaps for next time a box would do just fine. Thanks again sss, Michelle This message was from michelle_m._lim@siltronic.com - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum.
