I file one of the cards alphabetical by stamp company and the other one by category. That way when I do a swap I can pull out all of my "RubberMoon" stamps (or whatever) and decide on a card or decide that I really need to buy more of that company. I try to keep the actual stamps in boxes by category. I spent forever setting this up last summer but it has been great to use once it was complete. Unfortunately, when problems get posted, they get amplified so much that most folks don't realize that the vast majority of swaps make it through with no problems at all. So to answer your question, there are always a few problems with every round of SSS. Of course, when the problem is happening with your matchup, that's 100% to you. I don't have all the wonderful word and phrase stamps that I need to suit every occasion. But I have files full of great poems, stories, and good thoughts. I use my computer to do inserts and overlays. I have my word procesing program (in my case WinWord), set up with two templates (one portrait and one landscape) to print two columns with nice margins. I choose an appropriate phrase (or two) and type them in the bottom half of each column using a pretty, or fancy, or sometimes funny or season appropriate (snowy, ghouly, etc.) font. Then I print them on nice colored or parchament paper. Cut them in half, and there you have two inserts for your cards. Run a thin line of glue stick or double stick tape along the inside fold of your card, and stick your insert into the card. You can also use the word processor in this matter to print messages (CONGRATULATIONS - HAPPY BIRTHDAY - Whatever) on vellum for an overlay for your cards. You can emboss your image on the front also, and color it from the back, and then place your card inside. I also attach these with stick glue or double stick tape (on the back - along the top of the fold). I love to find different ways to use my computer together with my rubber stamping. --`--,--{@ Patti in Fort Myers, FL @}--`--,-- ~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~ Computers are life. What a great tip. I may try it next time I do some painting. Sounds fabulous. I love the idea of a trellis. Always wanted to do something like that. In my old house, I had a faux brick wall halfway up the dining room wall, and it was always my intention to put real lattice work on the top with painted (or wallpaper) ivy behind it, but never got around to it. Maybe, now, with your ideas and my RS I might actually do something like it. --`--,--{@ Patti in Fort Myers, FL @}--`--,-- ~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~ Computers are life. No name: light yellow paper with swirls on the outside and flowers on the inside with butterfly confetti! Love it. Glenyce Mork: deep purple card stock with the outer edges brushed with silver (why didn't I think of that!) ON the inside "You make me smile" (who makes that stamp and what looks like fireworks bursts. Again the edges are brushed with silver, very nice effect. Val Kildaw: deep blue card stock with silver edges (will definitely try this myself) and cute little stamps on each of the flaps. Honey Comer: Light yellow card stock with birthday postoids on the outer flaps and the inside is so colorful! With fireworks bursts, swirls and happy Birthday. Carol Roop: white card stock with assorted angels on the inside and the phrase I believe in angels. I love the rainbow pads you used...what are they called? Linda Look: bright green glossy card stock with the inside either stipple brushed or sponged with green and yellow . assorted flower stamps and a nice phrase that I want! I love how the two colors blended together. What amazes me the most is that I got 6 cards here and four diffluent sizes of cards! I will be making templates for these smaller ones for sure.
