"Would you accept gently used stamps fitting in with your stamping preferences?" or something like that. My brain is dead this morning cause I haven't had my Pepsi yet. Boy it is horrid outside today. We went from 75-80 degree sunny weather to pouring down rain and high winds and 60 and less temps. YUCK - I HATE WINTER - except for the first snowflakes - they are ok - then I'm ready for spring!!! Everybody off today due to Columbus Day? I am going to do some much needed stamping today. I know the house still needs much cleaning attention, but if I wait to stamp until it is all cleaned up - I'll be in my grave and my stamps will all be "still waiting". So, I got the dishwasher going, and load of laundry going, ate a cinnamon roll, fixed my first Pepsi of the day - (always the best one of the day), and my little guy is still in bed, and the others are all off to school or work. Middle son has a dr. appt. with the shoulder specialist today though at 11. I need to pick him up and go with him to see what the doc has to say. He hurt his shoulder wrestling in a tournament of champions last year and it keeps flaring up. Ok - I'll shut up now. I'm flirting with a headache that I hope doesn't come to fruition. I think this weather front is trying to give me a headache. YUCK. Hugs everyone, Have a great day, Debbie * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Hey, wanna stamp? I have joined swaps, did rakes, received a couple of rakes. So, am not a lurker. Received quite a few helpful hints. It has been determined that I am the oldest person on the list (71) I am old enough to be a grandmother to most of you. I love this list, as I live by myself and sometimes I am very lonely. But, I have a problem. I can't write letters like most of you. Some of your letters make cry and some make laugh. I can't express my inner feelings like most of you. I would love to be able to express myself better and be able to say the things I really want to say. I have such an inferiority complex and am shy. I am a coward and fear rejection. This is a little long, but I just wanted to let you all know, I do care. First...on the girl I 'felt" some embossing on just parts of her...like her head and hair, her left sleeve and hem of dress but not on the rest of her...all the hearts on the front are embossed....so you used the embossing pen on her. I forgot 2 other packages! Oh hi! I just sent out the message to the list regarding this! Shame on me! I completely forgot about the wonderful goodies you sent my boys! I feel sooooooo bad! hey, well, your stuff to me was soooooooooooo wonderful all I could think of was the pearl ex and the AI glitter! It's sitting right here in front of me so I can oggle them, since I can't use them yet, my stamp stuff and stamp room aren't even avail, the room itself is a mess full of boxes. we can't even get into it. figures, huh? so let me thank you with all my heart for the great gifts you sent my boys! They loved each and everyone of them! They especially loved that sport candy you sent! they ate one right away and it was so funny, they played with each and everyone one of the pieces, too, before eating them. hahahaha, it was a really hoot to watch. they loved the pencils! We can't find any of them, they're in boxes somewhere, so these pencils came in soooo handy! They've taken them all out and have cherished them! They've actually taken care of these things and have a special place for them in their room and they know exactly where they are at any given time of the day. This is totally shocking considering most of their things get tossed once they've had their fill of them. The freeze things you sent they didn't like so I got to have them! There's one of each flavor left in the freezer for me. wheeee! The super balls got confiscated after Geo starts bouncing them off the glass on the glass enclosed patio, which is their playroom. I'm saving them for the summer and the swimming pool, they'll be great for that! Thanks so much! You've spoiled me and my 2 boys each and every month! You're sooooooo generous! My kids love you and they tell everyone, "we got this from Mom's friend on the computer!" People think we're crazy and I love it! They take their gifts from you to school to show all their friends. It's just great! I have no idea what the heck I'm gonna tell them next SSS when the packages stop, lol! thanks again for being so generous! oh yes, and BTW, you hint of who you is making me wonder if your our list MOM, I know she's a teacher! She's the only one on the list who is that I know of. Any other teachers out there??? :-P My undying gratitude! Stargazer - -- -- -- -- -- -- stargazser@juno.com The Queen of Joseph's Coat! It goes directly to the brain, specifically the memory part of the brain, and slowly kills off those brain cells. This is serious stuff. You don't need to take my word for it, just type in Nutrasweet poison in your browser/search engine and you'll find all kinds of information all over the www. Here's a few things that I've gotten off the www regarding this. Aspartame Is Dangerous For Everyone ----------------------------------- Long-Term Damage - ---------------- It appears to cause slow, silent damage in those unfortunate enough to not have immediate reactions and a reason to avoid it. It may take one year, five years, 10 years, or 40 years, but it seems to cause some reversible and some irreversible changes in health over long-term use. Brain Cancer - ------------ Aspartame caused large brain tumors in life-long animal experiments at a dose that could be considered within the "Acceptable Daily Intake" limit after adjusting for differences in metabolism of aspartame's breakdown products between humans and rodents. Not long after the FDA Commissioner went to work as a consultant for the PR firm of the aspartame manufacturer, FDA Investigator and Toxicologist, Dr. Adrian Gross stated the following: In view of all these indications that the cancer- causing potential of aspartame is a matter that had been established way beyond any reasonable doubt, one can ask: What is the reason for the apparent refusal by the FDA to invoke for this food additive the so-called Delaney Amendment to the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act? Is it not clear beyond any shadow of a doubt that aspartame had caused brain tumors or brain cancer in animals, and is this not sufficient to satisfy the provisions of that particular section of the law? Given that this is so (and I cannot see any kind of tenable argument opposing the view that aspartame causes cancer) how would the FDA justify *******and another one******* Formaldehyde from NutraSweet ---------------------------- This is a followup to the Methanol chapter in the draft scientific/ historic review of aspartame toxicity on this web page (http://www.tiac.net/users/mgold/aspartame/aspartame.html). That chapter clearly shows the danger from the low doses of methanol from aspartame which converts to formladehyde in the body. Recent research relating to formaldehyde exposue shows that regular exposure to exceptionally low levels of formaldehyde can cause damage. For example, workers who were exposed to formaldehyde concentrations in the air between 1.46 and 3.1 parts per million (ppm) for half of the workday for an average of 13 years were shown to have a significant increase in DNA protein crosslinks (i.e., permanent genetic damage) (Shaham et al., 1996). Children who were exposed to formaldehyde concentrations above 0.043 parts per million (ppm) in the classroom during the schoolday for an extended period of time were shown to have greater fatigue, poor health, and headaches (Wantke et al., 1996). These and other studies discussed in the draft review show that extended exposure to even very, very low levels of formaldehyde can be dangerous. When one considers the formaldehyde from aspartame, one also has to consider increased toxicity from possible synergistic reactions such as formaldehyde + an excitotoxic amino acid (aspartic acid). While the studies on formaldehyde exposure do not necessarily correlate *exactly* to aspartame ingestion, they provide growing evidence on top of the independent aspartame studies and the huge number of serious adverse reactions reported that aspartame use (especially long-term use) can be very dangerous.
