Phil, I agree with everything you say here. But, let me clarify.... ....My goal wasn't to get something bad started, or to anger anyone. Those who had read my public thank you to Vicky (ArabianRose) have been inundating me with requests for the lists. (I got more mail in one day, to this screen name, than I have had in the previous 5 days.) I guess my goal to to make everyone happy, and when I read that Vicky's server is down, well, I felt I might be doing the right thing. I SURELY didn't think (and that may be the problem - don't know) that I was doing anything wrong. To Phil, to Vicky, and to anyone else who may have been offended or upset, I apologize. If the vendor list is like an database that I have helped create or maintain in the last 35 years, the data in a copy of the database is of little value within days of the time it is extracted from the master database. I would be very careful about basing my orders on information that is weeks or later months old. Is is sad but true that a business that has a spotless record can be sold to someone for the purpose of the goodwill that the first company created, and the second has no intent of continuing. I also thought that Vicky was only sending directly to people who requested it to try and control the problems I listed above. My 2 cents worth. I received the brayer swap: From Christine: A round card with black on the front and brayering on the bak. I'm not sure how she did some of it but on the black is a flower stamped and embossed in multi-colors. Then she has a butterfly embossed in cold, that looks brayered also. Very pretty! From Ann Sakagawa: She stamped a rose in clear pigment ink (I think) and brayered over with pink with a gold strip on the bottom. Then she has a gold rose on the front with thinking of you on parchment layered over the brayered pink. I have never thought of doing this. This is cool! From Nerolie Oakes: Another interesting look! She has brayered just a little square in the middle and inside this is a polar bear uncolored that looks like it has been masked. Very interesting contrast--I like it! From Nayl: She masked a "torn" circle in the middle of a brayered piece. Inside iis stamped "you are loved" and mounted on yellow paper. Then she stamped leaves on the outside and inside. This is neat too--I've never seen this done either! From ?: Blue postcard, then layered on top is a brayered "plaid" looking piece, and then over this is a multicolored Happy Birthday on the corner. Very nice! From Merlene Lee: She has stamped and gold embossed three butterflies, with glitter in their wings on a very lightly embossed square--so light its almost invisible--very pretty! This is then layered on green and then again white. Inside is a interesting fold pop out piece. Very beautiful--I love butterflies! Thanks all! Then it says "just a note" on top. Very pretty with those contrasting colors! From Stampralla: Another very pretty color combination! She has a beige base card, layered with a rust colored piec, then corrugated paper, then a white sheet stamped with fust colored sheet music, then she stmaped a saying on brown mulberry (?). In the corner she has some sealing wax and a ribbon. Very pretty card! From Debra Nielsen: Rust card layred with a tan piece with different music type things stamped on it. Then in a collage type method she has some sheet music, a copper colored stringed instrument stamped and then another stamp of musical instruments stamped in black. Beautiful! From Zonia: I have no idea how she did this! A cardboard folder of multiple colors--metallic looking. She then has done a collage type thing with music, and instruments and beedz and different pieces of specialty paper. This is so cool! From kglover: A tan piece of cs layered with pretty tissue paper and then sheet music, and behind it is mulberry paper. In the corner is a ribbon and on the bottom is a stamped fairy cut out and colored holding a glittered ball. This is wonderful too! From our hostess Sara Humphery Knight: She sent some paper "goodies" along with her card--beautiful! A beige card with sheet music with burnt edges layered on it. She sent me a great postcard...store kind...called Coyote Sunset....has a red sky with a huge golden sun setting...a silohuette of a coyote standing on the horizon. On the sun Robin stamped a witch flying on a broom....very cute! I love coyotes. I miss hearing their cries that I could hear when we were on a farm in Iowa. OK, so I'm nuts...that's not news to anyone, is it???? Love & Angel Blessings, InkyAngel (Dorothy Little) I believe there are Angels among us.... This is a funny topic for me. I come from a family of 7 children. When we were young the movie was playing, my mom took us and as a promotion they gave away christmas ornaments. My mom was Snow White and the rest of us were a dwarf. I was HAPPY. My Dad's Memorial service is finally a thing of the past. It went well. I ended up in a major flare of fibromyalgia and could hardly walk that day, but I had lots of help and I made it! I am feeling much better now, though not great. Juno was messed up on my pooter, so if you e-mailed me & it bounced, try again! Did I miss a lot of discussion about John Denver? I am shocked and very sad. Are you all familiar with his song Poems and Prayers and Promises??? It is on his Greatest Hits album...Has some very interesting and tear provoking lines in it....about growing old and death. I met him about a year or so ago when his plant a tree campaign came here. He helped me help my group home residents plant twiglettes (my word for tiny trees) at a Nature Preserve near here. He was wonderful with my clients. When we were finished I thanked him for being so casual with them and for helping. He shook my hand, kissed me on the cheek and thanked ME for the work I do. I was very honored. Now he is gone. No more Rocky Mountain High. No more Sunshine on his Shoulders. Another wonderful, talented, caring person taken before we were ready to let him go. Go with Angels, John.
