What a great surprise!!!! The front of Robin's card has a daisy in each corner with a very pretty gold swirl effect -- I think she did this with her embossing pen. On the front of the card she put a piece of cardstock cut with scalloped Fiskars...on this she had the words.."Simple Pleasures are life's greatest pleasures"..(So true!) ... this beige cardstock was layered on a piece of navy blue cardstock. Very pretty card, Robin. She enclosed a nice note!!!! Thank you sooooo much. I have some dies that I'd like to offer for sale. All are unmounted and closely trimmed. These are duplicates I've received in grabbags and I'd love to send them off to a new home. Prices include shipping in the U.S. Please contact me *privately* (don't want to clog up the List!) if you have any questions or would like to reserve one. First come, first served. I would appreciate checks or money orders; once I receive payment and it clears, I'll send your dies out. I would really like to get these out of my house, so prompt payment would be appreciated and I can get them to you sooner. Thanks for taking these off my hands (and off of my dining room table!). Number is parentheses is the number of dies included in the packet, although that number is probably higher since I'll probably throw in some extras. Most of these are small to medium sized. 1) Pattern and backgrounds --includes one die that has 15 small images that can be cut up and made into mini-stamps. (39) $12 2) Animals -- realistic or stylized ones. (26) $7 3) Holiday (12) $5 4) Science -- includes beaker, bacteria, fungi, euglena, test tube holder, cell, etc. (31) $7 5) Flowers and Quilts-- includes a few three quilt block dies and a "Hand Quilted by.." die (9) $4 6) Tribal and ethnic (10) $4 7) Celestial-- small star dies, merman, sun (6) $3 8) People and words-- realistic people, political dies (these are probably not for people into cute stamps) (25) $6 Any questions? She went to garage sales, thrift stores and dollar stores looking for different sizes, shapes, and colors of glass containers. She bought candles from different places and used some she had already burned. She put the store bought candle in a old saucepan and melted the candle. While still hot, pour into the washed and dried glass container. She put a wick in it and gave them as gifts. Some of them she stamped on the glass and some of them she tied a bow around the middle of, but they turned out great. Some of the ones that I remember were a Coke glass with a red candle in it. One she used a jar that had a handle on it, one was a champagne glass, she found a tea cup and a matching saucer, she used jelly jars, baby food jars, etc. Part of them she used a smaller jar to include in a basket of something else. Part of them she used a white candle and added the oil to make her own fragrance. Some of the candles she found at garage sales that people had partly burned and then got rid of them. It didn't make a difference to her! I'm not sure how she did the wick, anyone have any suggestions? Have a great day! If you want to do something different this year, why not sign up for the Birthdays with a Twist swap. You send out 5 cards for every name you submit, and your person gets 5 different cards from all over the place! I am specifically looking for dates in November, but of course, I am also accepting dates up to Dec. 31st!! This can be lots of fun for all of us! Here's the details: 1. Sign up by now for birthdays in the the month of November. If you have people with birthdays after that, you can still sign up now, also. 2. You Promise to send out five cards for every name you send in. You receive a group of six names, one of which is the one you entered. You send cards to the people in your group you did not submit.(one card to each birthday person besides your own) 3. Need Birthdate and Address of Birthday Person you would like to have a Birthday card go to and card preference, (examples hobbies, no nudity, etc., etc.) Example: You, me, and four other people submit a total of six birthday people to the birthday group. The birthday group list will then have your person and five other people - you mail the cards directly to those five people. The list will also have my person and five other people (one of whom is the person _you_ submitted). I will send cards to the five other people. This way, each Participant (you, me, and four other stampers) sends out five cards; and each Birthday Person (these are the folks that are actually on the list, with their addresses and Birthdays) gets five cards. The twist part is that the cards are not directly exchanged between stampers, but are sent directly to the birthday folks. Remember, you don't send a packet of cards to me, you send each card individually to the people on the list. So if you would like to participate, please send me a private email, i.e. Tonia tgoeres@pps.k12.or.us and please put Birthdays with a Twist in the header. Thanks, let's all have some fun with this. Please put stamp credits on the back of each page. The letters I need now are: H E W Marcia B is doing D J K R U V Y B D I L N O Q R S Z Cover Out of 28 players, I have the equivalent of 15 players stuff in. Volunteer for as many pages as you want and can do in a two week period. I really need to have these to me by November 5. I want to get out from under this swap. I have a lot of fun doing them, but this one has just taken too long! Remember that all pages need to be stamped on a half sheet of cardstock, stamps this way , in a landscape orientation. The left side (where the X is in the illustration) needs to have a 3/4 inch margin, so the binding doesn't cut anything off. Email me with your choices and I'll fill in the list. Thanks to all! And thanks for your patience! With my vacation, my new business and the stamp club taking off, I'm up to my ears in orders, catalog assembly, and paperwork! What a wonderfully, sweet note! You are doing what is necessary for a wonderful, loving Mother needs to do to ensure the safety and health of a child of God! Sometimes the little Angels need extra help, and Thank God you are able to provide that help. I feel like this baby of yours is a part of the list family already. Especially for those of us who have been around as long as you have, and shared in the experiences you have been through. If love alone could ensure the health of you and this baby, all would be perfect!!! Remember, Angels are near! Then use the rubbons and you'll get a really neato background paper. I've used them = on dry embossed thins to show the relief and on corrugated paper.
