I just know I'm going to get in trouble for this...but I am hoping that this person is meaning that we all should "make" the effort to do the best we can do, not to just throw something together in a quick hurry to get it out. I'm thinking she is meaning that we should send in work that is nicely done at whatever level our stamping is. We are all at different levels of stamping, and there are lots of physical situations that may come in to the stamping. But if a person feels that they have put forth effort to the best of their ability, no matter what it is, then you should feel good about sending in your cards. I do disagree with the way it was worded, but I have a hard time believing anyone could be so cold intentionally. So, perhaps it is a mistake of understanding the "written word"????? How did you get this >background? Would you please teach me how to get this effect? You're the third person to ask so I'll just send what I've written to everyone. :) I'm glad you liked the bookmark! To make the background I used sponging with two different ink colors and then I blitzed two different pen ink colors. It sounds like more work than it really is! First I stamped alice and the clock and then masked them both. Then I took my compressed sponge and inked it up with a dusty rose ink. Pat pat pat all over, until the white of the paper no longer shows. I really wanted the solid color background. Lots of patting, but it goes by fast if you're watching tv. :) Then I inked up the sponge with a pinker color of red and went all over the dusty rose color. That gave the pink/purple color I was looking for. Then I took my blitzer and blitzed the card with a cool purple color that enhanced the sponged background. Then I blitzed with a dark blue. Have you ever seen a blitzer? You can buy one for about $10 in most stamp stores but I understand you might not be able to find them in Brasil. Maybe you could ask your SSS for one? :) I actually bought mine at a fabric store (Joanne's). Michaels should have them too. It takes some practice (and strong hand muscles because you have to squeeze a bulb to spatter ink onto the paper) but once you get the hang of it, look out! You can make some really neat backgrounds with it. :) At first I wanted to throw it out the window but I'm glad I spent some time playing with it because I finally have the proper technique down. If people would just stop and listen to themselves. Fat chance that these people who were talking that way would ever read what you wrote. Why not post it to the editorial page of your local paper. It will give a lot of people food for thought. I too have a struggler that will definitely be someone very important. My son has a neuromuscular disease. It isn't as noticeable as some muscle diseases but he gets his fair share of being teased. He tells me he wishes he didn't have this disease (I do too!) but I tell him that is what makes him special and considerate and most of loving. I doubt very much that this child will grow up making comments like those rude people. He wants to be an teacher when he grows up. And damn it He WILL! Love to you all, and please think before speaking out loud were some really special people might hear you and become sad. Actually when I hear it, it fuels my energy to keep working toward what I was given. A Special Child to raise and a wonderful one at that! Thank you for taking the time and reading this! I just finished my first card using Gallery Glass on aluminum foil. This is just way to cool!! It is really easy and fun! I found that if I use my brayer to roll the foil onto the cardstock, the foil didn't become wrinkled. Now I just have to go back and get some more colors of this stuff. You all are going to have to try this! It has a really neat 3-D type effect and the colors are transparent or translucent so the black embossed lines still show through. Oh and by the way....embossing on foil is really quick so don't let the heat tool stay in one place for to long. I guess the foil helps conduct the heat so it embosses really fast. Just thought I would let ya'll know! Have fun!!
