Well, I was going to try and catch up on my list mail today until I saw how many messages there were! I know alot of these are duplicates, but it still takes awhile to delete them all. There were 230 this morning and another 180 tonite - and I still hadn't caught up from the 150 from last night! Anyway, to anyone who is waiting to hear from me - I'm taking the night off - - going to bed early. Have caught another nasty cold and this one bypassed my sinuses and went straight to my chest/lungs - can hardly breathe! Someone told me yesterday that whenever people move to Kodiak, they spend the first winter getting sick - well, that has really rung true for me! 3 bad colds already - and poor Abby (my 2 1/2 yr old) seems to get them right along with me. Have to mention, tho, got a great valentine's card from Linda this week and some neat new paper catalogs, especially Simply Stamped Papers - love those sample swatches. Also got the catalog from Confetti Spaghetti - fun stuff! Talk to you all later - by the way, anybody got any good home remedies for chest/lung congestion? Also, I would love to have a nickname... A little bit of info about me... I am a single adoptive mother of a 6 year old girl. She is into stamping too. I love to read and take pictures. I am a newbie to stamping and am learning lots of new things all the time. So far my favorite is embossing and the thing I like the least is foiling. I like word stamps and am trying to build that up. I also like country and flower stamps. I have just gotten into using mulberry paper and decorative scissors. I am really enjoying this. I work as a customer service representative for a local insurance company so I spend alot of time on the phone. I am also a consultant for Usborne Books at Home which is children's books. They are great books and if anyone is interested in info please email me privately. On the weekends besides the usual household chores, my daughter and I like to go to the mall and shop!!!! We also like to go to the movies and go to some cultural activities they have around here. Well, I guess that is all about me... Looking forward to hearing suggestions for nicknames and the SSS program.... Hi! Lucky you that you are able to go to NYC next weekend - I'm envious! You are remembering the information I sent to the list back in December. I'm going to copy this again to the list in case some other lucky stampers get to NYC in the near future. You want to go to Pearl Paint first - that is the art supply store I wrote about. They have fabulous deals - I adore the place. Its on Canal street - they are very close to Chinatown. Four floors of fabulous art supplies and a whole floor of paper. They also have rubber stamps. Kate's is wonderful too but most everything is pretty pricey - that's why I say go to Pearl's first. When I'm in NY I usually visit the store in SOHO, which right next to a subway stop. Here is the information I posted to the list earlier: > Thanks to the Smudgekins who I recommended Kate's to for their NY trip this > year, I learned that you can know order a catalog from Kate's - another > reason to hide my credit cards. I > don't have their number but they are in the same area code as Kate's so try > 1-212-555-1212, if you want directory assistance to look up the number. Have fun. Parking will be a BIG problem so I suggest you leave the car at home and take transit in then cab around or park somewhere in the city and cab around - you are going to have alot of packages when you are done - remember that Pearl and Kate's will mail stuff back to your house if you don't want to lug everything around the city. That's how I get stuff back to Seattle. Have a great time!
