Hi Kathie: I have seen them locally in a stamp store here in Kansas City. I don't know if anyone on the list carries them. If you absolutely must have one (or some) and can't find someone to sell them on the list you can always let me know and we can figure something out. The store's name is The Stamp Patch in Lee's Summit MO. They would sell at the usual retail price. They had a scorpion, a straw-flower type flower (like a mum) with real embedded ladybugs and a few others. hamster stampster (Diane Wien) ------------------------------ From: suzanne domme Date: Tue, 25 Feb 1997 23:11:48 -0600 Subject: Re: My new KAI scissors... My hubby came back from a business trip the other day and he bought me a gift while he was gone. The gift was great....I can't remember what it was....but it was wrapped in BUBBLE WRAP!!!! I love bubble wrap. It's sooooooo theraputic. I tossed the gift aside, scooped up all the bubble wrap and headed straight for my stamping corner, popping little bubbles as I went. (Yes, a small corner with a cluttered desk...don't EVEN tell me about your great stamping ROOMS). I knew what I was gonna do with it even before I sat down. I cut off a manageable piece and laid it bubbles up on the desk. Then I inked up my brayer with a rainbow pad and brayered the ink onto the bubbles. Then laid a piece of glossy cardstock on the bubbles and brayered over the back of the card with a clean brayer. Lifted it and got a way cool bubbly, dotty thing going on. You can imagine where it led from there. Glossy paper, matte paper, dye ink, pigment ink, liquid applique, embossing powder, glitter...you name it, it works great. Some of my favorite combos were black pigment ink on black cardstock embossed with JudiKins Mystique E.P. (which everyone MUST have). Mystique is like a psychodelic e.p....it starts out sort of goldish and the longer you heat it it turns green, blue, purple. Psychodelic e.p. over white ink on black cardstock was nice too. Agean silver e.p. over white ink on black cardstock is really, really shiney! You can just rinse off the bubble wrap and use the same piece over and over again...till the poor little bubbles start to deflate. Have fun! I'm a little "encumbered" at the present; my youngest sister is taking a one-week course at the University in Halifax (300 miles distant), and I couldn't go because she needed someone to take care of her children. Got myself into a good sulk, because if anyone *knows* Halifax -- it's me -- having lived down in that region for 25 years. Ah well .... Anyway, I'm enjoying my nephews ... at least I think I do, when I'm not locked in a closet or hiding under the car. It has been brought back to my remembrance that they really *do* start toilet training real young -- like training to leave the seat up, regardless of plea and threat -- and that one who must sit must *not* sit before one looks The cat is behaving very much "out of character", tearing around like a little whirlwind, refusing to eat -- I don't know if she hates being around the boys, or if she is really just jealous. Then, my new Skidoo was *supposed* to be delivered yesterday - it wasn't. It's *supposed* to be here this morning and at 10:30 - it isn't. Which is probably not a bad thing - because once it arrives, I might not stop until I hit the North Pole -- which would leave the kids thinking the babysitter *is* a fruitcake. I have to unsub -- I'm going to be going off in too many directions. Will be back when weather permits. Hope buddies will keep in touch by e-mail! Hugs all round!! I stopped getting them also. It confused me as to if I was getting thru to the list. But I went to Options->Mail-News Pref->Composition and x-ed in the box to send copies of my own post to me. Now I'm getting them again. Although too fast sometimes. Another thing is; for about 24 hours, the list behaved itself very well with no duplicates. Now just the afternoon, it started duplicating several messages. Not all of them, just some of them. About half of them I think. Does this quirky 'net get hiccups like this all the time? Used some leaves from my punches as template stencils, So now I have a gold monitor frame with putty colored leaves. I might make a reglar stancil and color in the leaves. I have the gold, copper, blue, lavaendar, and green. I like them.. They are great on Black to color in an image. But you want to be kind of tender with the points so they stay sharp to get in corners and tiny places. They are not truly translucent, but if you don't shake them enough, they kinda are and you COULD (if you're careful) put them over other colors. I also like to use them for stained glass look - especially on foil. Emboss in black, fill in the colors. Great look there. StamPatti, vsa & vsr Computers are life. Rubberstamping is art.
