I'll assume you're comparing the Tombow with the Marvy LePlume Pens. I've come to really like the Tombows because of the shading effects you can get from them. I love to do two tone colors with one marker! However, I must say I prefer the writing tip on the LePlume's since it's finer. In regards to the regular Marvy's, I haven't found anything better for coloring right on the stamps themselves. I thinks each pen has it's place, but the Tombow's have the greatest range of colors and uses, I think. Just my $.02 worth. My no good, terrible, very bad day. My day starts like this, I go to take the kids to school and when I get back my husband is at home so of course I am thinking how sweet he came home to see me he must have had a little time off, ( they were moving offices because their lease was up). They company had just been bought out recently Well as it turns out they let him go today. The bummer is with only one month severance. I guess they felt this was rather generous. I was not that impressed for some reason. I am not letting it get me down though. I also thought of a stamping name "The Grinch" I have never seen it yet and wondered if it was already used? It kind of explains my mood today by the way. Well luckily we do (already) have a couple of leads on jobs so, hope hope hope that it won't be too long before we know something. I am feeling optimistic. Well hope this wasn't too depressing think I will make me a big banana split with lots of chocolate syrup and m-n-m's and whip cream and caramel and a huge scoop of marshmallow topping, and watch old movies tonight. The Grinch:) You should see the cute Grinch stamp that Jodi let me borrow. ------------------------------ From: pjdesigns1@juno.com (Paula Jo Green) Date: Thu, 27 Feb 1997 19:56:13 EST Subject: Re: Pin construction another question? This was my second swap and I was sooooo excited with the items that I received. Stephanie Agau - A gorgeous primitive art horse stamped on a small square of cream colored card stock; this was layered onto a square of dark brown card stock that was placed at an angle onto the actual card; the card itself was cream colored card stock with a very interesting brown background. How did you do this? I would love to get that stamp! Lady Roslyn - A cute little girl on a pony with lots of other horses and colts running around in the grass. There is also a texture of yellow that gives the impression of a hot sunny day (technique?). She included a matching envelope with a little cowboy on it. Very sweet. TNTRILLING (sorry I don't know your name) - A drop-dead gorgeous card! I have *got* to get this stamp! It's a large detailed Magenta stamp of two horses with a leaf pattern border around it. The stamp covered the entire front of the card. She inked it in a reddish ink. It was soooo very effective. Could you please contact me with detailes of how you did this card? Thanks! Cynthia Sillitoe - A beautiful rust colored card with a moon, stars, and a solitary horse running across the landscape. The images were embossed in gold. This card illustrated the spirit of the horse beautifully. No name, sorry. - My very first ever pin! I have seen all the discussions about pins, but it was hard to visualize what everyone was talking about. Well I got my very first one and it is so cute! A baby girl riding on a cute little pony colored with markers. Attached by little gold rings to the bottom was a pink sign that said Happy Trails in a "rope" font. This was so cute! I will wear it to the horse shows this year! Details please! Also included were two horse "postage" stamps. I would love to know which stamp company these were from. Thanks to our hostess for her hard work. This was so much fun! *************************************************** Pamela Moore Humboldt, Tennessee "Living is easy with eyes closed; misunderstanding all you see." - -- J. I know some have been described before but don't want to miss any. From Susan Curtis, a pineapple. One of my favorites! I love this one! From Sheila Burnett, a road with billboard "Last Chance Stamp Store next exit" and mounted on a pop dot, a cute girl. From Monarch Stamper, a Magenta cat(sleeping) stamped in brown. Anything that's animals will definately go on front of my fridge! From Sandy Brunsvold, some pretty red roses, I'm guessing stamped in black and embossed in clear, then colored with markers. Oh and all of these magnets are laminated but I don't know if it's hot or cold laminating..looks very professional! From Lila Tubbs a dragonfly and this is another of my favorites! Oh and I just love this one, a gumball machine from Denise Pellunari. The top of the machine is stamped again and mounted with a pop dot and there are tiny hearts laminated inside. From Stargazer a circle with three horses, and I love the design. From Janet Delwiche, "Bloom Where you're Planted" with background in peach, lilac and light green. It looks glittery too. Pretty! From Lisa Weiner, two girls, one pulling the other's pigtail, colored with pencils I think. I like this design. From Ilene, Happy New Year in a frame mounted with pop dots, and a party hat and one of those blow things (sorry don't know what else to call it) also mounted with pop dots. This looks very cool. From Jennifer Nicholson, a laundry basket, embossed in grey and colored with markers, and some small pieces of cloth sticking out of the basket. From Janice Rollin a heart stamped on transparency and a heart gem in the middle. From Jane, teapots and a teacup confetti hanging from the bottom. From Cherri Langley (love your address stamp) a sun, with a sun postoid layered on it, and some beads hanging from it. From Danessa Nicholson, a teacup embossed in gold, colored with markers and some money sticking out of the cup! From Janet Delwiche, Sun Spirit stamp, stamped and colored in yellow, green and purple. It is glittery and very pretty. No name on this...a postage stamp collage. Also from Cherri Langley an orange half, with orange netting mounted on a paper that says "Fresh Produce" Ooops! Last but not least (it was on my refrigerator...one of my favorites..that's why I almost forgot it...) Angel kitty with glittery wings from Rhonda Vandergriff. Whew!
