I don't mean to cry to all of you and if you don't want to hear about it then please delete now.. First, my son Dusty that just went to Germany, hurt his back in basic a few months ago. He is going to the doc there and has to go back tomorrow to see if they might have to do surgery or not. They are talking like they will. I told him to find out if he does, if he can come home and have it done so I can take care of him. His squadron is leaving the 23rd of Jan. to go to Bosnia for 6 months and he will be the only one left in the barracks so there won't be anyone to help him.. I am hoping that they will let him come home IF he has to have it... Just to let all of you know, I am going to be a grandma again around the end of April. She is 6 months.. Tracey is pg.. She thought the baby was dead because she had never felt it move, and then she felt it last night and the doc heard a heartbeat.. Sooo. She is sorta torn because she said she can't even take care of herself, how can she take care of a baby.. Craig said he wasn't going to adopt this one too, and I don't really want to, but I'm not going to let it suffer and he won't either. It is an infant that can't help how sorry it's parents are.. The father isn't taking care of them, so she hasn't been to a doc in months. She is going tomorrow and get on WIC.. Welfare. We don't have the money.. So... she might be staying here till the baby is born since she doesn't have any place else. I told her last night that I just hope that she has taken care of herself and not done a lot of drugs, but she didn't answer me, so I am afraid that there might be some problems with this one. I really and truly hope not. I have asked God to help me love and care of it no matter what kind of health it is in. I have always been afraid that if I ever had to deal with a handicap child that I wouldn't be able to, but I feel I need to now, and need all the help and prayers we can get.. Thank you Robin for a great card! This was done on white stock with shaped corners, she stamped joy at the top then an angel from SU and a border at the bottome, all were nicely colored in and then parts were glittered. She topped it off with a satin bow.Inside it says Merry Christmas. Next I received a card from Barbie. This one started also with white stock then she layered dark blue that had been punched with a pin around the edges to look like tin punch, on top of that she has a circle of white mulberry paper with gold running thru. She then stamped and cut out an angel blowing a trumpet on vellum and embossed in gold and colored. also a star is glittered and raised on one side. Very beautiful. Thank you Barbie. Next from Debi is a beautiful card using the SU nativity sillouette set. She stamped the wisemen and the city on antural card stock in black and then chalde the sky and the ground in. She covered this with vellum and embossed a syar in gold at the top and sayings at the bottom right. This makes a very soft but ellegant card. The vellum is glued to the back and a gold cord is on the edge. Thank you also Debi. Last one from Carol done with the SU berries. She has done this on golden yellow CS and stamped the berries , then colored them in with glitter glue giving them a three dementional look, at the top is stamped "your the very best" and clear embossed . this makes a great note card. Thank you Carol. I've two swaps to discribe that i got in. Tommorrow though. Happy New Year every one! I was 16 days short of 21 with the first, just barely 23 with the second and 24 with the third. I really liked having the last two so close together - they were like twins! Well, I'm spending my new years eve inside cause I'm scared to death of drunk drivers - but I'm having sooooooo much fun! I've made two small books so far. Biggest one is 4 inch square. I'm covering the covers with exotics and putting a different exotic on the inside cover. One book has stitched pages, one has stampled. One has a tassle that can mark pages, and both covers are also collaged. Have used Wonder tape on various parts and on the tape, I've put wildfiber or Beedz! Having lots of fun! I've only had 2 responses to a small handmade book swap, if anyone else wants to play, let me know. I'll keep the proposal open for a little while to see if I can get it official. Deadline is 2 months away!!! Kari This message was from Jim & Kari - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. Ranee - Ivory cs layered w/dark green, then layered w/musical score of Away in a Manger, then layered on the muscial score is the Comotion Pointsettia. I think it is stamped on a light weight foil, then colored w/markers (?) and embossed w/clear ep. Very elegant card. Ranee what is the foil you used? I like your card very much!!!! Melissa David - Placed in a clear envy is silver metallic cs, layered w/red and then navy cs w/lines (indentations)...w/sponged silver paint. This has a cut out and then a poinsettia "stained glass" can be seen with glitter showing through the clear acetate!! I don't think I am doing this card justice in my description...it is really lovely. Melissa, did you stamp the design on a laser transparency? I've never seen one, but think I have now. Also, how did you color? Your card is very elegant, just lovely! Kim Albert - Antique white cs, and layered in the upper part of the card is red cs, two inch square, w/gold photo holders. Layered on this is light green cs w/ a pointsettia done in red and green glitter. On the lower part of the card, is Merry Merry Christmas, embossed in gold. I really like the use of the "upper" space of the card, I'll be filing this idea away in my mind! Carol Otani - on red metallic cs is a matte evergreen cs w/corners rounded. On the center is a really lovely pointsettia embossed in gold and painted with interference colors, I think! This card is so elegant in its simplicity. Who made the pointsettia stamp? I have to get this. LindaSue - I have and love this PSX pointsettia basket stamp! White cs, layered w/red cs circle deckled, then white cs deckled layered on this w/ pointsettia basket embossed with gold ep. This is painted with water color markers in red, green, brown. The center of the pointsettia had a bit of glitter. Love the card!! Thanks everyone...great cards...I'm glad to have received them!!! Victoria This message was from "Victoria T.
