From Sara Humphery-Knight: White dry embossed card with a victorian woman stamped and black embossed. She colored her gown in purple. I love the saying! "If you haven't got anything nice to say about someone, come sit next to me". She embellished with sealing wax and silver beads! Thank you Sara! Leona Cernigoy: Cranberry Cardstock card. The front is gold embossed with wonderful leaves. another layer of cranberry framed with gold EP then dark green cardstock, trimmed with decorative scissors, then gold embossed roses in the center! Very pretty, thank you Leona! Cynthia Sillitoe: a kind of collage effect. A gold ebossed frame with a woman stamped inside the frame. A gold embossed fan in the upper right corner. Decorative papers layered in the upper left and lower right corners. A purple ribbone bow in the upper right center...very nice, thank you Cynthia! Jennifer Arceneaux: pink cardstock note sized card. Looks like she shaded the edges of the card with ink or chalk. In the center of the front she stamped an adorable angel holding sunflowers. Beautifully colored in! The bottom of the front is edged with paper lace and satin ribbon. I love this, thanks Jennifer! Victoria Flaherty: She sent her card in a doily envy!! The flap weighted down with a button!! Great idea! She started with a cream cardstock folded card. On the front of the card she covered it with beautiful victorian paper. She then put a velum sheet over that! Nice effect! On top of the velum she put a paper doily in the lower left corner and a cameo like stamped image layerd over that with gold paper leaves stuck in behind the doily! Inside is a sheet of velum with the same gold paper leaves in the upper middle center! Very pretty card, thank you Victoria! Sharie Soriano: White glossy cardstock folded card. On the front a layer of eggplant paper with corners decoratively punched. Over than a layer of white mulberry. Over that a stamped image of a heart and flowers embossed in silver, and the heart in colored on the back in purple. A silver tinsel bow in the center top!! Very nice, thank you Sharie!! I haven't stamped on it all that much - and I'm sure I need to treat it like glossy. Now that the subject has come up --- and I have watercolor inkpads now --- I'd better dig it out and play with it. Balonis" Subject: RS: Monthly Swappers 1998 REPOST of today's earlier post ***PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE GIVE ME YOUR SNAIL WHEN YOU ASK TO SIGN UP*** HI All As you may have read I am taking over the organization of the Monthly Swappers swap from Ginny Newman who is spending her time organizing her great stamp club. I plan to work it the same way Ginny did. As a matter of fact part of this post is taken from her post from last year. Thanks for the great organization Ginny!! This is a great low volume, low pressure swap group. You only make four cards each month for your group. This is the gist of the swap. 1. Each month for the rest of the year each person in a group of 5 sends a card or other stamped goodie to the other four in the group. All goodies must be recv'd by the others in the current month (for example: all cards for April must be recv'd in April, not May 1st). That means that you send things to arrive in that month not on the 30th of the month because it won't be there in time!! This will go on for the entire year. 2. There will be some overseas/Canadian players, so if you do not want to be in a group with out of country players please tell me that in your post to me. Otherwise, if you are in a group with an out of country player remember you need to mail that even earlier for that person to receive the card in the proper month. 3. If a player cannot continue, it will be that players responsibility to find a replacement for themselves. 4. Once the groups are established and I've posted the names back to you it becomes YOUR GROUP. If you have problems with someone in your group, the group can decide what to do about that person, i.e. drop or whatever. I am organizing the Monthly Swappers 1998 but after that you are on your own. 5. IF you want to be in the same group as last year and agree as a group you don't need to even tell me. Just keep mailing to each other and don't sign up for a new group in 1998! (Unless you want to be in two groups.) I don't need to know about you if you are continuing from your 1997 group. 6. If anyone is interested, PLEASE SEND ME YOUR SNAIL ADDY BY EMAIL, and I will assign you to groups. Please send your snail with a message that you're interested in the Monthly Swappers and then watch for ALL messages that have the words Monthly Swappers in the subject line. So many deleted this before so pay attention! 7. Posting to the list after receipt of you cards is not required or recommended. I recommend that you set up a mail group for your monthly swappers to email just to that select group when you receive cards or have other things to say.
