Hi Lisa ~ First off, I'll let you know I have taken no offense to your post. I realize you wrote it with goodwill intentions and because you care. Thank you. Now let me try to explain my one statement a little better: I did not mean to state that I just "sit back and do nothing", expecting God to totally take care of things in my life. Not in the least, believe me! BTW, I am a Christian, have been for almost 17 yrs now. Anyway, I have done *alot* of changing since becoming a Christian and what I'm saying is: I *cannot* do it on my *own* power alone. None of it on my own! And I have learned over the years that *some* of it, I just have to "let go" of, stop trying to change things on my own becuz, as Rabbi Twerski has so aptly put it: "We can ask for Divine grace only after all of our efforts to achieve mastery have been exhausted." So my point is: I have learned my limits of my own power and after having exhausted my own efforts, I *then* ask for my Lord's grace to "make something happen" within me. And I realize He is the One Who also gives me that desire to *want* to change. ... I hope this clarifies for you, Lisa, what I was trying to say the first time around. God bless you. Need I say more? It was a mess! My DH (ever resourceful) said "Let me try Carb Clean." I'm thinking "No! That will ruin the rubber!" It cleaned it beautifully. Right down to the red rubber which I haven't seen since I bought the thing. It feels nice and soft and not pitted or anything! I'm so pleased. SO, if you want to try it (caveat emptor: I've only tried it once) go to your local Kragen and get Carburator Cleaner (spray). You spray the carb clean onto a rag and then apply quite a bit of elbow grease. I feel like I have a new brayer! Cheers!!! Christine This message was from "Christine L. Too funny that this subject would come up! I was at work yesterday with Baggie and was kinda wandering round the store a little and what did we find? A very old arm style Very sharp paper cutter!!! It has a arm that you pull down to cut the paper....the man whose booth it is in came in today and I asked about shapening it when it got dull and he said just bring it in and he will sharpen it for me!!! What a deal...all this for $18 bucks!! My deal of the new year!! - --Ellie In a message dated 98-01-04 22:25:26 EST, FranRShaw@AOL.COM writes: << I don't think I could live without mine. DH got it for me last Christmas ('96). I think he paid $29 at Office Depot, but they have the identical one at Costco (same price), and at Michael's. Mine has the arm thing that you pull down. I like it. My friend has the Fiskars one with the wheel cutter... it's fun too, cuz you can change the wheel and get wavy or crinkly cut. Either way, my advice is GET A PAPER CUTTER NOW!!! It's well worth the price, and you'll wonder how you ever lived without one!!! -Fran the Frantic Stamper :-@ >> This message was from EllieD33 - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. As for me, today brings the beginning of a new semester at school (finishing 2 classes--Classroom Management and Orientation to Student Teaching) for the first 6 weeks, then officially Student Teaching in the first grade until May 9 Graduation Day!! I'm still working at the night high school (office clerk), so this will be fun balancing work and a new start of my career! The dream is underway!
