I got mine (the Perfect Image Positioner) from Stamp Out Cute for $15; I think Appalachian has it for a similar price. The PIP has an "L" square and two differnt sizes of flat clear plastic pieces. You stamp on the flat pieces (with water soluble ink like dye) and position the image where you want it, then butt the flat plastic piece against the corner of the L...then remove the flat piece, leave the L there, and place your stamp in the same place. I like that the PIP has the flat pieces--other stamp positioners require you to stamp on paper for positioning (usually tracing or tissue paper) and I find it harder to line things up. OTOH some of the other aligners have measuring hash-marks (at 1" intervals or so) and are "T" shaped, which some stampers swear by. Hope this helps! Used my trusty KAI scissors which I bought from Stampo (VLVS) several years ago. This was a big job, but not as big as when I pulled all the dies off of wood - there were about 1100 of those. I've had some these ums hanging around for a long time and have been recieving wonderful ones from my SSS last term, not to mention all the ones I've purchased lately. This isn't even all of them. But I'm trying to do this in stages. I still have a a bunch of foam mounted sets to do, and another baggie full of dies to be mounted later (I just got tired of sticking dies on HALOS and took a break from that chore to the cutting them out chore). Not to mention the 15 feet or so of wood mounted that I purchased since I pulled all the other ones off. Before I do anymore cutting, I think I need to organize this bunch into appropriate categories, and get them into the binders. Meanwhile, I've promised myself (call it a New Year's resolution if you like), not to buy ANY MORE RUBBER until every one I already own is on HALOS (except for a few of the really big ones that I will leave on wood). Of course, I've got a pound or so still coming from Stampo's QM sale, but after that, no more! Really, NO MORE RUBBER! Until I've got ALL the ones I have HALOed and Organized so that I can USE them instead of just looking at them. And it turns out I've got a baggie left also that I won't be wanting, so I might join a UM RR or I might just do some RAKs with them. We'll see. Anyway, after two evenings and an afternoon of cutting rubber using the KAI scissors, my hands are in fine shape. These really are wonderful scissors. I've now cut out about 1500 dies altogether with them and I use them for EVERYTHING, rubber, paper, ribbon, fabric, whatever. They're great. Everyone need these scissors. It's another rule of acquisition. --`--,--{@ Patti in Fort Myers, FL @}--`--,-- ~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~ Computers are life. Rubberstamping is art. He and Jean are so impressed that people who don't even know them care enough to send cards and prayers. And once again, you see, your prayers are being answered. Jean & Jerry have learned that there is an experimental program coming up in Seattle, WA, and Jerry may be eligible to be part of the experimental group. The main problem (once they know for sure if he is elegible) is that they would have to live in Seattle for the 10 months the program is in effect. This would, in itself, prevent his participation. Unfortunately, there is no way they could afford to move to Seattle for 10 months and maintain their home here in Florida too. However, though what can only be miraculous intervention, things are working out. Our friend, Eileen, flying up from Argentina last week, was sitting next to a woman from Seattle who is looking for housesitters as she is entering flight attendant school in January and expects to be away from home a lot, and her husband spends lots of time in South America. They have big dogs that need to be cared for when they're away too. She and Eileen got quite friendly during the flight, and exchanged cards when they parted, and she told Eileen, "If you ever get to the Northwest, remember, You Have A Friend in Seattle." When J & J mentioned to Eileen about the Seattle thing and they didn't think they'd be able to go because of having to live in Seattle for 10 months, Eileen went APE. So Jean has been talking to the woman, and is waiting to find out if Jerry is eligible for the program, and if he is, this thing could work out for all of them. Now don't tell me that prayer doesn't work. See what it's doing for Jerry? --`--,--{@ Patti in Fort Myers, FL @}--`--,-- ~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~ Computers are life. I don't sell many cards but people at work have asked me to sell them some cards, and I have had some at craft shows. Both companies are very restrictive, and are not angel companies. Now, there are some images that you can only get through them, and they have great designs (both dots and stampin up) you just have to decide if you want to deal with those types of restrictions, and lets face it, there are some images that are worth it. I have tried to only buy from angel companies, and that works for me. The best thing anyone can do is write a letter to the non angel companies, requesting that their policies change. If they knew the numbers, and we all took the time to write, it would say something, My admiration to those demonstrators who are still with both companies! I have enjoyed every single package...they have all been jammed with so many goodies. I always giggled when you would say they were "meager" - HA! Now, for all those inquiring minds...the pop bottle contained....(drumroll please): A beautiful candle that had a stamped and gold embossed rose on it (very nice...me and my daughter want to try this...can you let me know how?). A wonderful assortment of 12 x 12 printed papers that I can (and will) use in my scrapbooks (my other addiction!). A set of 6 Marvy brush markers in primary colors - love 'em, love 'em, love 'em! A set of 6 Crayola pencils - these are really cool...each pencil has 4 different colors that make up the lead...hard to describe, but can't wait to try them (my daughter is eyeing them covetously!). A "magic" sponge - it's flat now, but puffs up when immersed in water - should be very useful for making interesting backgrounds. A package of birthday confetti - has metallic birthday cakes and balloons with smiley faces on both. 4 packages of Mrs. G's stickers and a couple of loose sheets, too! A set of 10 folded cards with dry embossed edges and matching envelopes (I was running way low on pre-folded cards so this is VERY much appreciated!). 2 stamps by Embossing Arts Co. - one is a Calla Lily corner stamp which is simply gorgeous...did you know that Calla Lillies are one of my MOST favorite flowers???; the other stamp is a cute "border" stamp with hearts and bows. These are both just exactly my style! And last, but certainly not least, a very cute Christmas card! White card stock has dark blue card stock layered on top with a deckle edge. On the blue card stock is a cutesie manger scene embossed in white. I am so thrilled to finally know who you are, Julie! It has truly been a pleasure receiving from you! I look forward to hearing from you in the near future so we can get to know each other better!
