Get the look of leather with Liquid Aplique and a Brayer. Brown or Tan looks best, but I've seen this done with other colors too. Nice background technique. Using your brayers, spread a layer of liquid applique over your paper (brown paper sack works good). Pretend you are painting... use the brayer like a paint roller. MAKE SURE YOU WASH OFF YOUR BRAYER IMMEDIATELY!!! (the stuff WILL harden on your brayer and ruin it!). Now heat the liquid applique and VOILA... Magic!!! You can stamp over that, tear it into peices and layer on your cards. I've even see a little suitcase stamped on top of this technique, then cut out... looks like a real leather suitcase!! Have I told you all about this wonderful place that I found on line for getting your catridges refilled? I don't know how I stumbled upon it, but have ordered from them many times, and haven't been disapointed yet. Count the number of people that I referred and we are into like 30 happy campers! The Place is called Laser Perfect. The carry just about every imaginable brand on the market. Here is how is works... They send you a postage paid Box to mail in an empty. (if you don't have one, then they charge an extra $3.00 per catridge....still a great deal!) You send it off, and they return another one to you within 5 business days (usually closer to 3 so far). They pay postage back to you too. A few days later, you will receive a new package to use the next time you run low. They guarantee the cartridges 100% and according to their literature, they have a 98% percent rate of perfectly working cartridges. The Original Manufacturer's is something like a 5% defect rate or so. When I first started using them (and I am not affiliated, blah, blah, blah) I had a Cannon BJC210 who's color cartridge could not be refilled period. So, they offered brand new equipment straight from Cannon at like 50% off what I was paying elsewhere. Call them for info. I have a price sheet handy if anyone is just curious you can email me the name of your printer and the exact name / number of the cartridge that you use and I will tell you the price. Their number is 800-989-2666! A very happy customer, Germaine This message was from GG Ideas - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. Shawn, This sounds great! Can I come and help you move? Guess we would be watching those dolphins more than working. LOL! I love the ocean! It's the best place to be in the whole world! The second best is in the beautiful Oregon mountains! The smell of the forest is really great, too! Especially in the spring. Hugs!
