I received my first RAK's today from some lovely people. It was such fun to find three cards in my mailbox that is usually filled with junk mail and bills.! In the first envelope there was a card with two laminated convention pins on the front of the card! One pin is a flower pot with stars and a moon for the flower shapes, and the other is a dollar bill with wings, which I'm sure is what will happen to my dollar bills in Puyallup! Little RAK postmarks were included in the card, for me to use on cards. The second was a valentine with cupid on a cloud, with other clouds and glitter decorating the front, also bordered on one side by silver square confetti. Two unmounted stamps were on the inside. My first UM's I've ever seen. Thank you! One of them says "Send Money". It will go on the next mail that is sent to my daughter in Texas. After paying for her college education, and wedding 3 weeks after graduation, I think it would be appropriate!!! The other one says I love my bad attitude, it will be used for things I would send to my other daughter, need I say more? :} :} :} :} I do love them both! The third card is another sweet valentine, with hugs, kisses, and kitty in a bag, all over the layered on front, and envelope. This card was full of cute confetti, of all cool shapes, little stamped postal things for more envelopes, RAK stamps, and another three images to use for pins or cards. Thank you all for your thoughtfulness, you made this "Newbie's" day!!!!! Plus gave me more ideas to try. I'm new to the list and thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Debbie Miller and I'm sort of a newbie to stamping. Some of the members of the scrapping club I'm in got me hooked (and now they have me hooked on this list!). I live in Austin, TX, and am the SAHM of 4-year old twin daughters. I've been reading these messages about RAKing and I"m dying to know what this means--Random Access Kards? Help!!!! I received a cute card from Robin (Cat Poste). The card is done in a pretty lavendar on which she layered white cs that has the cutest little kitties coming out of a teeny paper bag. These are alternated with the stamp "Hugs & Kisses" and the inside is wishing me a Happy Valentines Day. But what was really the surprise was the card is stuffed with all kinds of stamped images that I can cut out and use on other cards, some confetti (love the Mickey Mouse confetti), a beautiful heart on white card stock filled with kitty pictures; little RAK cutouts that I can glue to my envies, gold embossed leaves on tan paper stock, and so much more it's hard to describe it all. Thanks so much Robin. This was a really fun card to get. My second RAK of the day came from someone unknown. Hopefully as I describe it you will recognize my description and know how much I appreciate your random act of kindness. On very lovely tan card stock is layered a chocolate brown corrugated paper. On top of that is an embossed vase with red flowers. There is also a darling little white bow with a pearl on it that add just a touch of elegance. All the inside said is "You've been RAKed". But included inside are 2 um'd sayings. I love them both. Can't wait to use them. Thank you so much for thinking of me. I wish I knew who you are so I could thanks you personally. How fun. I've only been on this list for a month, and I am overwhelmed with the kindness and generosity of those I have had contact with. I look forward to a long and friendly relationship.
