Just felt like sharing something way amazing that has just happened to me! Well, I used to correspond with this Dutch family way back in 1985... but we lost touch around 1987, it was my own fault, I couldn't handle penpalling at that time... Anyway, I've been trying to find them again by using this ICQ search tool... I tried and tried to no avail, it seems to me the tool wasn't working (I had tried for nearly 3 weeks!!!!!) but tonight, less than an hour ago, I finally found ONE person with that last name and he happened to be in the Netherlands so I decided to give it a try! Wouldya believe it turned to be my former pal's brother??? We've chatted on ICQ and he's phoned me twice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's just as amazed as I am!!! Isn't this such a small tiny world?... He's given me an update on my former pals - I used to write to the whole family actually: father, mother, two sons! The boys are married :o) Am I getting old???? DON'T ANSWER THIS, please have mercy on me :-)))) I'm sooo thrilled and sooo happy I just HAD to share this with my rubber family ;-) Each day is indeed a miracle... Love and sunshine always, Stampcas :) way way way thrilled here... This message was from Stampcas - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. (And we're working on Ruth, too!) What does this mean to us? We don't know yet, but we're going to figure it out! We can dream and create this stamping team/family/friends however we want. I'm open to creative suggestions. HOWEVER, since I'm the OFFICIAL MOM in the group (hee hee!), I want you to DO YOUR HOMEWORK and answer all those questions I sent you! If you do it, I'll be good, compile your answers, and send them to back to you, my official family members (Belinda and Pat and Ruth if you will be so kind as to join us!). It's fun having new friends to play with! SaraMom :) (Please put SARA in the subject line.) Due Date: Last day of February Details: x for x, however many you send is how many you get back. Don't send extra for me as I will be playing also. Send a list of likes/dislikes and I will do my best to match up, but no promises. I've hosted this swap before and it worked out great last time!! Although, some people do send in lots of "little" stamps and I did have to send one med-large stamp for 2 small ones. Or 2 or 3 foam mounted for one wood. Is that fair? Postage: I did have a problem last time with postage because some people sent in small stamps and I returned different sizes. I am going to do priority this time, sooo $3.00 priority for under 2 lbs. I would recommend keeping it under 2 lbs. But if you want to send more, I have no problem with that, just send more postage! LOL I know of that priority mailer that is $3.00 no matter what the weight is but the last time I hosted this swap, stamps didn't make it here too well in those. I would hate to loose stamps in the mail!!! Mail to: Kari Mattocks P.O. Box 35513 Juneau, AK 99803 Don't forget to include your list of likes/dislikes in your package to me. It's hard for me to keep track of them through emails!!! THANKS Email me if you have questions! Players so far: Me!!!! Lots of them I have never seen! And I have A LOT of confetti! Don't miss out on this great stuff! Ok, here is the scoop! DUE DATE: February 1st, 1998 WHAT TO SEND: X for X, how many you send is how many you get back. Please don't send me extras as I will be playing too! Remember, let's make this fun and send some really cool confetti!!!! No stars/hearts! LOL HOW MUCH TO SEND: Depends on you. But I would suggest, no less than a 3 x 3 little baggie 1/3 full. POSTAGE: $1.00 for 5, $2.00 for 10. If any of you have any suggestions for a different amount, please contact me. I'm not sure how to do postage for this one as some people may send big amounts compared to some send smaller amounts. I will try to swap equal amounts but that will be hard to do, cause I don't want to split up packages of confetti. Any ideas? Did I forget anything? Oh, yeah.... SEND TO: Kari Mattocks P.O. About 3 people have emailed me about the cost of shipping small handmade books in previous swaps and let me know that is usually takes $3.00. If you send me $3.00, I'll ship it priority for you (and hopefully) you'll get it faster!!! Wow! Lots more players since I posted it's official! I can already tell we are going to have some great small handmade books!!!!! But....We always need more players! Please join us! Small books are easy to make, I did 6 of them in one night of stamping! They are fun and you can make all different kinds. Treasure books, Concertina books, etc. Details: 6 for 5, small (under 4 inches) handmade books. Bound however, decorated however, your choice whether to collage inside pages, # of pages should be at least 4 (I guess, LOL). Due Date: March 1st! Postage: Send $3.00 priority postage and a SAE. If yours costs more to send to me, please include additional postage. Although I can't imagine 6 little books ever costing over priority postage! LOL THANK YOU, as I am poor college student and can't afford everyone's postage. Send to: Kari Mattocks P.O.
