I now have an oven thermometer just for this. It, especially the "shiny" kind, is very sensitive to heat. The other thing is you're releasing a lot more toxicity if it's overheating, too!! I've been advised to wipe the oven out with a damp cloth after using it for Sculpey, and so now just use my bottom oven for this. When my daughter came at Christmas, she put something in that one to cook and we all started smelling this awful thing and I realised she'd used it. Now everyone knows it's off limits except for my Sculpey things!! I made over 20 angel ornaments out of Sculpey and THANKFULLY only put four in the oven as I was busy and didn't want to lay them all on the baking sheet--my sonny thinks they're beautiful in their purplish-brown dresses. I did put them on my tree with the others and invited guests to take on. Actually a stamping friend liked them better, because the faces turned a bit darker and they look ethnic! Becky, This one, I think, is a little tougher than it sounds. I think that usually you should post the name of the person and a description of the card to the list AND to the person who sent it. On the other hand, I have a couple of listee friends who have asked that I not post when they send me something (although I do thank them personally). I also know at least one person who sends RAKs anonymously so that her name can't be used. Maybe that's the answer, if someone doesn't want a public thank you, either don't give your name or ask that the reciever not post? I don't know. Other opinions? Cheers!!! There were two butterflies and a sentiment UM. The butterflies are a hit with my daughter! She's only 3 and I already have to point out which stamps are mine and which are hers! The sentiment UM says "You've got to have a dream. If you don't have a dream how're you gonna have a dream come true?" This is great. I can already think of some cards to use this with. Thank you so much SSS and I'm so sorry I forgot to mention these earlier. Thank you also for the Layered cookie in a jar mix for the Chocolate Peanut butter cookies. Yum! I can hardly wait to make these. You're the best and also so sneaky. Hmmm, any more clues? Ha ha, well, there are a few more months for me to ponder who you are. Thanks again!!! To answer your question, SSS, loop tape what exactly what I needed. The loop part goes on the UMs and the hook part goes on the acrylic mounts. If you haven't tried it yet, you'll have to give it a try. I already got my sister hooked (ooo, bad pun) and she got a friend of hers hooked (and that's just since December)! If I send you something to the address on the first box (which I know isn't yours) will it get to you? Hee hee! OK, well...I learned something ELSE today about Sculpey that the wrapper on the little packages doesn't tell you...I picked up a "sampler pack" of Sculpey packaged in a cardboard box and on those directions it says to bake it an oven-proof NON-METAL dish....well, DUH!!! Silly me, I baked it in an aluminum pan. That in itself probably caused the clay to heat up more than it should have. So, tomorrow it's gonna be me & Sculpey...experimenting. I better not use it in my oven too much, though, 'cause I've only got one (no double ovens here)! Thanks to everyone for trying to help out with this! I'll let you know if I have any success! I've been adopted by three new Moms. I can hardly believe my luck. And believe me when I say I need these three nice ladies because I need all the help I can get. I was first adopted by Wendy Bean, then by Carrie Lebeau, and by Redstick (Candace Cedotal). I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!! I lost my real mother almost 25 years ago and I sure have missed not having a mom to share things with. Now I've got three, WOW!!!!! I've also found a new friend on this list that only lives a few miles from me, Vivian Thiele. We're hoping to get together real soon to share tips and techniques and get to know each other. I can't wait to share some things with all my new Moms and with Vivian. My 2 cents worth: I myself don't really like the Spice Girls. My daughter adores them. She doesn't have their CD, and probably won't for awhile. I just now bought her the Hanson CD, which she has BEGGED for for months. The remark about the Spice Girls promoting sex in my opinion is way off base. And even if it were, what is so different about a music group promoting that image, when all of society today is influenced by some sort of sexual image? I LIKE the way they dress, and think it is a unique display of individuality and style, although I myself wouldn't be caught dead in some of those outfits. On this train of thought, check out some of the pictures of the girls. One of them actually wears jogging pants and t shirts on stage. Is this promoting a sexual feeling? I think not. It is expressing comfort and that individual's feeling that she is strong enough just being a woman that she can wear whatever she wants. Look at the Vogue article on them. They are wearing very presentable Gucci clothes. Very tasteful, and nice. They looked "normal" I guess, by most peoples terms. Girl Power is not just sex. It is confidence. At least this is the base of the power. It is also a positve attitude, and while I don't approve of the Spice Girls, they have been and probably will remain positve about themselves and their career, and shoul be applauded for this. They are also promoting using their brains, which more people should be opening up. They shouldn't be knocked. Like I said, my 2 cents worth. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com This message was from "Kim Michels" - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum.
