I too was Rak's today by Kathleen MCCaffrey -- a handmade calander envelope and a House Mouse card ... very cute! I also received a card from Linda Israel -- a clear envelope (I bet my postman was jealous!) and a "From The Heart" card with two squiggle hearts and Mulberry paper... very neat!! Thank you both very much! This made my day .. I am a teacher and we just started a new semester today. This was a great pick-me-up after meeting 130 new sophomores, juniors, and seniors! :) I also received a catalog and stamp from Stampa Rosa. The stamp was "It's Going To Be A Great Year." The catalog is quite thick and has many interesting images. Happy stamping to all- Jen S. Over the past several days, my mailmail has had to deliver all of the mail right to the door because of all the TERRIFIC CARDS FROM MY RUBBERSTAMPING FRIENDS!! My energy level is way down and I am only able to list the wonderful people whom I've rec'd cards from. Believe me, I would describe to you their wonderful cards, but my recuperation from surgery has unexpectedly knocked me on my butt. I'm finding myself out of bed at 6:30am due to my back aching as I can only lay in one position with my arm elevated on a pillow. Today, I had some liquid draining from my stitches, so I couldn't do anything. I really want to sit down and stamp, but that doesn't seem to be in the immediate picture. More about the first 2 in other posts. I have decided, along with DH, that I would like to turn my paper fetish into a profitable (?) mail-order business. I am going to get a retail sellers' license from the State tomorrow. I returned home with about 600 *pounds* of 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock, and am offering it in grabbags at introductory LOW prices by mail. Although 600 pounds sounds like a lot of paper, I have already been "relieved" of a goodly portion of my stock by local friends! I will gladly go on another buying spree as soon as I get a feel for what people want and get established as a list vendor. I have been selling my Star Book Kits for over a month, and the people who have ordered them from me seem pleased with my reliable and quick turn- around. Many of you "know" me through swaps, too. I have also been a frequent consumer, supporting list vendors, who know I always send the checks quickly. If you have reservations about ordering from me, please just post to the list and (hopefully) someone will respond with his/her opinion. SO, enough about me. You want to hear about the paper! Ok-- Grabbag #1: 100 sheets 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock, assorted colors, textures, finishes. Great mix. Will include white, neutrals, pastels, brights, darks, glossy, linen, other textures, and duplex card stocks. This is a wonderful chance to try lots of papers, without investing lots of money. SPECIAL INTRODUCTORY PRICE: $14.00 (INCLUDES Priority Shipping in US). Foreign orders welcome, but I will need to charge for the difference in postage (and insurance, if you want it). Grabbag #2: 80 A-2 cards and 80 color-coordinated envelopes. 10 each of 8 colors, and may include duplex cards. Cards are NOT scored, so you can fold them however you want. (Envelopes will either be the same exact color as the cards, or a coordinated shade of the color (which looks great) or, in some cases, white.) A-2 size is the size you get when you cut an 8 1/2 x 11 card in half--4 1/4 x 5 1/2. SPECIAL INTRODUCTORY PRICE: $15 (includes Priority shipping in US). Foreign orders welcome, but I will need to charge for the difference in postage and any requested insurance. Supplies are limited. However, if it appears that there is a demand for these, I will (force myself ) to go on another paper shopping binge to restock. To reserve your Grabbag(s), please complete and email me the order form below. I will confirm that I still have what you want available and I will ship it out when your printed order form and payment (US check, cash, money order) arrive. I will email you to let you know your order has been mailed and really appreciate customers who let me know when their orders arrive. Sorry, but at this time I cannot honor color choices. I will mail to your SSS on request. If you've read this far, I would appreciate your opinions on my COM/SURVEY post, whether or not you order now. I only hesitated a few seconds. Before I go and tell everyone just what was in this package, I must thank you for a wonderful last 6 months! You really know how to put together a package that is so fun to open and paw through. This package was by far your best. Although when I think back, they were all the best. And Mom and Dad, Rachel did let me know that this package would be a little late. And believe me, it was worth the wait. First, I wish we had this brand of waffles in this state, this package makes me hungry every time! It's really hard to look inside and not know what to grab first. I find that rubberbaker has been at it again. I tasted it and it is, as expected, delicious. It's hard to believe that this little guy does such a good job. There were two packages, one shaped like a Christmas tree and other a star and they were both full of candy, one Snickers Bars and the other chocolate bells. Treats for a long time! A package of covered pretzels. I love that sweet and sugar taste. There were three containers of different confetti, I Love you in pink and red, Angels and hearts in various colors and iridescent and red hearts, really pretty. I can see some good shaker cards. A Printworks checker stencil, cool, this will make some great backgrounds. Two packages of buttons, pastel and the Harlequin colors. This is great, as my daughter had all the buttons and they moved with her. Two heart shaped magnets. Some note cards and envys. Can always use these, nice paper, cream, a confetti kind of paper. Now, there were three boxes, well actually 4. Gorgeous boxes red and gold and a pretty pink with lace and pink flower on top. I opened the big one first. Couldn't wait, Cool box, was the lid prepunched? Never seen that kind of lid, really neat. But inside was something really good!!!! Two punches (and you say, punches?) Not just any punch, an angel and a heart punch. What makes these neat is they have stamps that go with the punches. There is an angel stamp, same size as the punch and two flower stamps to go with the heart. Thank you, Thank you and more Thank you's. A received a card from Rachel with butterflies all over it stamped and what I thought was a pretty good job of cutting. Beautiful card with all these colorful butterflies cut out with the wings bent, it was just cool. This is what I'm going to play with first and you will get some cards. Now I can't guarantee they will look as good as yours, but I will give it a try. She also used coffee filters and they looked like tie dye. It was just a cool card period! On to the next box, the pretty pink one. Inside that box are four heart stamps. Very pretty and just in time for Valentine's day. Four hearts inside one heart, very clever! The next box red with gold, neat finish with a flower, ribbon and leaves arranged on the lid. Inside this one is a package of passion fruit bath pearls. "Passion Fruit" well I must investigate this further, red passion fruit no less! Me thinks that vacation during the holidays did you some good! Last box, stamped with surprise all over it has another stamp, this one says "When I care enough, I make it myself and has the "Hallmark" crown at the top. This stamp is cool and I will use it on the back of cards. There is a package of holographic sticker-sheets in a very pretty pink. I can just see some of the paper punched out with my new punches. I have two special hand made items. During the past months, you have always sent very interesting and very intricate cards or little books that I have really enjoyed. This month is no different. There is a little match book with roses stamped on the front, you open it like a matchbook inside are little pages. Beautiful. Then there is a pin and this a really clever. A frame made of the sculpy clay, cool design, looks like a stage with a little stamped and colored in angel and I mean little. This angel goes across the stage by moving the string. This is a cool pin and I will wear it and always treasure it. Well the cake is gone, it was yummy. I can start on the candy tomorrow while I play with all my new toys. This was a beautiful package, certainly put mine to shame. I have taken lessons from you on how to prepare SS packages. Thank you for the past 6 months, it was a delight. I will be talking to you soon. I have an entire room filled with rubberstamps. Everytime I need to do a card, do you think I go to my room first to find the perfect stamp. No way! I head on out to the rubberstamp store. Plus, when I'm not shopping for rubberstamps, I'm shopping for rubberstamp accessories or paper. It's a disease of some sort. I used to joke around saying that there's something in the rubber, some sort of drug that hypnotizes you. It breaks down your will and forces you to buy more. If only I could find something that would work the same way for weight loss. "Ooooh, I can't just stop at 15 pounds. Oh, no, I need 20 pounds. I can't resist . . . I'll take two treadmills and a step machine. No thanks, I don't want anything to eat. I need 20 pounds." Like that'll even happen!!! Born Eugene, OR, grew up Spokane, WA, lived in OR and CA two years as child, back to Spokane. Brigham Young Univ. Utah and Church College of Hawaii (now BYU, Hawaii), went back to BYU and met my DH sr. year. I moved to Seattle, he stayed BYU until he talked me into marrying him--those big puppy eyes!! Got married in Salt Lake City, Utah. BYU another semester, then he got drafted and we spent 20 very fast years in Army--Fort Ord CA, Hawaii, Fort Knox KY, Fort Hood TX, Frankfurt Germany, Fort Lewis WA, Fort Irwin CA, Frankfurt Germahy, Fort Lewis--he retired after Desert Storm--during which time rest of us had three car wrecks--one hit and run, two trees fell on house--no one home or at least DS and probably me (from heart attack) would have been killed, daughter was in hospital with unknown life-threatening !?!? for awhile, Mom ended up in ER night war broke out--people came out of woodwork there that night--not exactly a fun time! I have BS in Child Development, and teaching credentials in elem. ed--taught two years in CA, and two in Germany for Dept. of Defense School. Don't ever want to teach again, unless it's extremely small classes of well-behaved children!!! Have some work done toward MA in Organizational Leadership--cried night of statistics finals--first class I'd taken in years and knew I'd gotten at least a solid B--it was a totally awesome feeling. But had a tumor on my colon two years ago and had a severe reaction to an antibiotic just going into surgery, almost died from that--woke up tied down and with tubes going into me everywhere including down throat--DO NOT RECOMMEND. Had pleuresy couple weeks later, then finally had the surgery to remove 1/3 my colon; so have "interesting" bouts of "interesting" things happening inside me a lot, and just haven't had courage, strength,or $ now to go back. Some day I'd like a degree in art!! I've been in several accidents in my life--hit by car at 10 child and crushed vertebrae in back, ruined my knees skiing, in roll over accidents twice, so very leery of any one near me in another car. My health is not great, am very happy to be alive, have a good man for a DH he's my great friend. My children are beautiful, talented and all-around wonderful! I'm almost a grammy!!!!, have a great niece by whom I'm a great auntie to 5 adorable, bright, talented children, have a great and fun and talented mom (she makes gorgeous pine needle baskets!!), have a good brother, had a great dad, and wonderful family growing up--big extended family. My family and I have been blessed to travel extensively in Europe while living there. Renting right now, but I always say we have equity in friends and experiences. I live in a beautiful area--too much rain sometimes, but then we'd not have lovely flowers, etc. Live close enough to ocean that we can go there often and be renewed--our family collected a bunch of sand dollars at Christmas. Live near enough to Puget Sound to visit every day if I chose to. Know I have been watched over by a Loving Heavenly Father, and some great angels. This is way too long, but you asked for it!! This is a wonderful group. I am happy to be here, even though first week was extremely hectic and feud erupted--life goes on and people are always interesting. I'm spending way too much time getting ideas, here though. I can dream up enough of my own, so this is extremely dangerous! Enjoy stamp group at Lakewood Library, and look forward to someday actually meeting some of of you! Eileen deMars This message was from fligamapoof@juno.com (E.
